Spark Plugs 2018 Kia Niro, here’s a guide, I know know changed them kinda early but hey you are hear watching it haha. Follow my page on FB for more tips. / mobilebrakesrotorstuneups
@@UnknownUser-dr4gw I just got off the phone with KIA asking for an explanation. They said that they misquoted. Now they are saying $265, which still seems expensive. Plugs don't cost much and it doesn't look overly complicated based on this video.
Awesome glad I could help man. Glad I saved you some cash. It’s early right. I have been doing a lot of car maintenance. Brakes, fluid changes, plugs, you name it. I don’t do many videos but I should.
Hello. Do you think champion iridium spark plugs good for kia niro? Do you have any misfire since you replaced them? Just want to make sure champion spark plugs are safe for kia niro.thanks
@@UnknownUser-dr4gw thank you for the reply. What I'm trying to do is to change the spark plug, exactly like this video intend to do. You know the part where you said to yank it (on the top right corner) where it is secured with some kind of plug? That part is hard to remove and I try to yank it hard and it won't budge, I'm afraid I will tore up the plastic or the engine part if I yank it even harder! Any tips or trick?
@@slothypunk I see I think I remember that’s the cover it just has 3 anchor points…should have any screws. Just pull it up maybe use both hands to pull it up
What particular spark plugs are going to Niro?Where did you buy them? there's a variety of different spark plugs in stores I don't know which one's I need.
The dealership wants $300 to change the plugs😵. Nothing else 😏! That’s a hard swallow. The belt is over $300 to change. Can’t be that time consuming 🤔.
@@UnknownUser-dr4gw I turned 145,000 miles today. Still original plugs, belt, brakes... ONLY oil and filter, Cabin filter, tire rotation, and wiper blades every 7500 miles plus all recalls up to date. Put new tires on at 94,000 miles with tread to spare. This FE has greatly exceeded my expectations since purchased new in May, 2018. My best range so far is 670 miles on one tank but usually average 500-550 miles. I use this as a Pilot/Escort car for oversize semi's. I'm hoping to reach 420,000 to 500,000 miles by the time it's paid for. I do carry a new belt and plugs with me along with the tools to do the work. I'm curious as to how far these parts will go. I work in Florida... mostly good weather, fairly flat terrain.
Nimbuslayer That’s cool man well it’s going to keep up with maintenance I actually traded mine in and I got this sportage turbo it does say they recommend changing the spark plugs every 70,000 I just did it before on the Niro because I didn’t Aldie the other day so I was like why not just do them both you know. Also I thought it be a good idea to put a video up so people were looking to do this type of maintenance will know how to do it
Thanks
Dude are those iridium spark plugs? They should last at least 100,000mi
Best investment I ever made
As in buying the Niro?

Our local KIA Dealer quoted us $383 to change 4 plugs on our 2019 Niro which seems outrageous!
WOW. DO IT YOURSELF BUDDY.

I don’t remember what spark plugs were used here but make sure you use the OEM spark plugs whatever spark plug I mentioned do not use anything else
Thanks for the video. Any tips how to remove that plug easier, I unscrew all the bolts but it is hard to "yank" it
What are you trying to do? Just unscrew them?

My 2019 manual says spark plug life is 100,000 miles. I might do mine at 50k though, just because they can be so hard to remove after 100k or so.
MPBrewster awesome. Well I have traded the Niro in for the 2020 SX Sportage. It says every 75k miles

Check your owners manual it will tell you the spark plug number. You can buy at a local auto parts store or from rockauto .com.
@@UnknownUser-dr4gw appreciated
Yes always check the owners manual for part numbers or correct fluids. Remember Don’t over tighten the spark plugs.
No need to disconnect the battery?
You can disconnect the negative terminal
30k miles for pure Iridium spark plugs- that's ridiculous.
I know but I was changing plugs on a few of our vehicles so I did the Niro also. No big deal

Nimbuslayer that’s cool. I like replacing them as needed. I do a lot of highway driving. To prevent something happening
