"Troopers" is always worth a re watch👍 Recommend an under-rated Sci-Fi from a few years before, "Space Above & Beyond", It is a tv show though....
P.s. The original book/audio of "Starship Troopers" is also worth checking out, it's a very different story 🙂

I love this movie, it is so iconic, especially the News and the special effects and costumes. I always liked how when they kill the bugs, they get their liquid on armor and helmet and it makes them colorful.
Such a good satire and layered as well with unsaid plots.
Like, the asteroid that destroyed Buenos Aires, is the same one that nearly hit Carmen's ship... and the reason they couldn't tell anyone about the asteroid, is the small impact on the ship is shown to destroy their communications array.
... and the conversation between Sgt Zim and the commanding officer "The only way you'll see action is if you bust yourself to Private!"
He then tears up Rico's resignation papers after the Commanding Officer says it'd be illegal to deface them... so he basically breaks the law... and we see him as a Private at the end of the movie.
The news report at the beginning is also Rico's first battle at around the 24:00 mark in your reaction :)

Trivia: The explosion at 26:45 was the largest practical explosion ever put onto film.

This is such a commentary on the Military Industrial Complex and propaganda at its worst. Symbolic, comedic and tragic. Down to the German uniforms. "Would you like to know more?"

Sergeant Zimm is played by Clancy Brown ,an actor who played many bad guys roles like Shawshank Redemption ,Highlander and Shoot To Kill with Sidney Poitier.
Keep in mind, this is satire, but the book is written as a more serious topic about how people who run the government and send troops to fight need to have served in the military themselves before making those decisions. Many nations have required minimum military service for years.
completely fails as satire, by forgetting to include any fascism to make fun of...

The special effects were amazing at the time, and they still hold up. People compare the war propaganda to WWII but should notice that it is more prevalent today than before in our lifetime.
Just realised the biology teacher was Rue McClanahan from Golden Girls.
18:10, the equipment should be water proof, for spilled drinks at least. There was a movie about planes crashing due to this - can't recall if it was fiction or based on a real story.
One of my all time unsung movies. A cult classic in my eyes.
I got so hyped when I saw that you reacted to that movie. 🥳 I really love Starship Troopers. My dad had this movie on DVD and it was one of the movies I really loved watching with him. So it's not just a awesome movie for me but also a great memory and a "throwback" for me thinking about the time sitting together with my father. Yet another great reaction, Emma. 😊

This was an enjoyable reaction for sure! A take away for me when I watched this for the first time was the approach of how a "dehumanized" enemy makes it easier to rally against. The US did this with the Japanese in WW2. This is not very close to the book at all, but I do understand what they did with the film. Anyways, thnx for the reaction!

Hi Emma, your hair looks nice!😊 I was about half way through your first video when RUclips blocked it. Sorry to hear about that. Looks like you had to cut 10 minutes. Director Paul Verhoeven made three futuristic violent films in an unofficial trilogy. You have seen this film and "Robocop" already. The third film is "Total Recall" (1990) with Arnold Schwarzenegger. I think you would really enjoy that one!😉 Our main female character, actress Denise Richards, had a rocky marriage with actor Charlie Sheen. Normally administrative punishment in the military is a letter in your record or demotion, not being whipped.😉 This future seems a little more violent. Great reactions to this crazy violent futuristic film, Emma!!!!!🎬👏👏👏👏

This movie is the ultimate satire on military propaganda, as well as mocking fascism, Nazism, racism, communism and the industrial military complex.
It was nominated for Best Visual Effects but lost to TITANIC.
I believe this movie cost 100 million to make ,but only made about 20 million profit

There's a bit of a question of whether the events in the movie really happened in that world at all, or if it was all just fascistic propaganda from that world's government. It always made me wonder if the "real" story was that the humans were the aggressors and the bugs were just defending themselves.
First time i saw this movie (near 98-99) i thought it was funny blockbuster about space.
But now i realise that it's propaganda filmed in fascism society. And society can survive only if it's in war.

The entire movie is a giant plot hole. Its never established exactly how far the arachnids are from Earth, but somehow they calculate the exact trajectory to impact a very small planet where its going to be when the asteroid arrives, accounting for the movements of the solar system as a whole, the orbit of the Earth around the sun, and manage to hit the 30 percent of the surface that's land.
And the ship is going right at a giant rock and Carmen and Zipper boy have to wait for orders to evade? If they had evaded when they saw it, they would have missed the asteroid entirely and been able to call in a warning. Plus, of course, the incredible coincidence Carmen's ship is exactly on the trajectory of the asteroid out of billions of miles of enpty space.
Emma, I told you, be careful, the video was censored and deleted due to the explicit sexual scenes, nudity and sex, I was very worried about your RUclips channel, they can close it Emma 😨
