Two different caliber rifles where used 300 win mag and the 338 lapua. The Navy had selected the Stiller TAC300 and the TAC338 and it’s what Kyle used. The stock was the M40A5..army used the M40A3 difference is in the check rise, one is SA for the M40A3 LA for the M40A5.. both had badger lowers with AI mags where a Berger round could fit during cycling the action, the only problem is that the Berger round didn’t meet the SAAMI specifications, go figure..rifle barrels chosen was the Mark13 straight tapered either Bartlein or Lilja for the 300 and Schneider for the 338..both rifles where shipped with Leupold MILDOT reticle scopes but that scope was NOT used by SEALS due to lack of use. Nightforce MIL-C reticle NXS models was the optic of choice due to familiarity. Hope that helps.
Wow interesting, thanks for sharing. Bergers are definitely long bullets when loaded to the right CBTO. I thought they were running Barnes hunting bullets though? Or was that later
Ya just can't beat an old M40 from the very early 80s. Toted one around for 6+ yrs. Was one of the finest rifles I've ever had in my hands over the yrs.
.300 Mag is one very good and economical cartridge around ,US Navy started with 190 Sierra Match King first ,then the 220 of same for later and it gives them a good allround use .
I'll make you feel younger! I had the pleasure to meet and spend over an hour with Chuck Conner's the rifleman back in 1976. He didn't know me from Adam and he was so gracious and pleasure to know, until we shook hand's goodbye and I thought he broke my hand. I did finally regain use of my hand about 3 week's ago. Yet somehow I'm only 39 year's old. Sincerely Ruger Rich
@@jonathanramos8414 you do realize the definition of ignorance is : lack of knowledge or information. heck if we didn’t go to Iraq the leader of Iraq at that time would’ve kept killing his civilians because that leader was responsible for killing millions of his own people and helping the Taliban as well and look Iraq is doing much better now . And the US and Iraq are strategic partners now as well.
Reading American Sniper I first learned of Chris' respect for G.A . Precision and saw his Gladius. I later ordered a Hospitaller and had it dipped in the green camo Chris had his rifle in. Chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor it's a laser beam. Hitting golf balls at 200 - 300 yards has gotten boring.
Until I saw this vid, i had no idea that i possess 1 of only 100 Mk 11 Mod 0 released to the civilian market...mine was manufactured at their old facility in Vero Beach. And yes, ive got the correct "can" and period correct optic.
Is it true some rem 700 s safety can go off I intentionally ? It’s been a thing . I seen how Remington tried to hide it and refused to recall . Yeah that dude was real in the movie and so were any others but he was literally the real deal .
