What is a Reader?

This channel is all about how to read and analyze screenplays. It might not seem like it, but there a lot of nuances that go into being a reader. Of course readers need to be able to:
✅ Understand story structure
✅ Be able to develop characters in a story
✅ Know how to spot good dialogue and fix dialogue that needs work
✅ Be an expert in finding the hidden gem
✅ ...and many more details when it comes to the analytical side of being a reader.
But readers are also champions for writers! We are here to elevate the writer and help them take their screenplay to the next level.
We are also a support system for producers. Producers need us! If producers trust us to focus on all the ways to make the screenplay better, their lives will be a lot easier!
And there are other details as well.
✅ Readers often set their own schedule so you have to know how to manage your time. ✅ Readers need to be able to keep their feet on the ground while giving notes on very big projects that have a lot of money, egos, and reputations attached.
✅ By sticking to the script, and being true to the story, readers can help the movie-making process get off on the right foot.
