Interview with Astrid Perez | Short Docs

After arriving in NYC from the Dominican Republic, Astrid Perez's career as a fashion model took off at the time when she was pursuing a degree in film production at the Brooklyn College Film Department. Saving her income as a model helped her finance her thesis film "Agua' panty," a comedy about love potions shot in Santo Domingo. The effort paid off and the film went on to win the Best Director and Audience Favorite Awards at the 37th Brooklyn College Film Festival. Astrid's film also received the 2019 Student Grant from the National Board of Review.
