    Nice looking bike.
    Good to see the sneaky question at the end. Almost got an exclusive 😂.

    Having ridden lots of RE bikes, I have been particularly impressed by their build quality in the last few years. I found the Shotgun to be a more “at home” ride than the Super Meteor. It might even be their best bike yet, but I’m a Classic fan through and through, so just waiting to see what the next launch might be.

      Agree, the build quality just keeps getting better and better. I definitely think we will see a Classic 650 very soon.

    Please ask that designer why they decided to have silencers that aren't parallel to the bike. The jut out was so upsetting I had to get aftermarket exhausts and now spend my time looking out for the cops...sigh

    • @BikerTorque
      @BikerTorque  4 месяца назад

      I actually like the slight upsweep in the exhaust. Pretty sure the new Classic will have a straight exhaust run with pea shooters

    I think the custom community is going to jump on these. What a beautiful machine. I personally love that they kept the alloy control boxes on the bars, and made them gloss black. Yum!

    I was goimg to buy one until I see there only available with the non chrome spoked rims, black frame, black engine, black gearbox and black exhaust.
    I was hoping they'd be like my black and cream 2020 Classic 500.

    • @BikerTorque

      In that case I reckon you should wait for the Classic 650.

    Ride the bike home and within a few days or less, first service due. Tank off to adjust tappets. Why no hydraulic tappets to save all that faff? Curious.

    • @BikerTorque
      @BikerTorque  4 месяца назад

      It’s a pretty simple engine design, adjusting the tappets is pretty easy though.

  • @xtc2v
    @xtc2v 4 месяца назад +1

    Why didn't you ask why they didn't put a mono-shock with linkage on to give the rear some decent suspension travel. It would avoid the bottoming out and unpleasant jarring on big bumps that test riders complain about. Also the rear could then have been given a clean hard-tail look. Wasted opportunity!

    • @BikerTorque
      @BikerTorque  4 месяца назад

      I’m guessing it was a cost saving issue because they have used the chassis off the Super Meteor. Not sure they could have done that with a fairly major redesign if they used a mono shock. But agree, a mono-shock on the rear would give it a great hard tail look. Also, have to say the rear shocks are fine if you adjust them from the factory set up, didn’t;t have any issues on the press ride with the suspension.

      @@BlackdogADVI think you could make an argument that many bikes need more power. I have a Continental GT and I’ve never found a situation (except on track) where I thought it needs more power. 60 hp would be nice, but still think it’s fine with what’s it’s got.

    • @whatsstefon
      @whatsstefon 4 месяца назад +1

      If it came out with 10% more power, everyone would still be saying it needs more power.
      It’s a 650cc air cooled engine that adheres to Euro5 emissions. They’re already pushing poo up hill with that tech. But I’m glad they do, because I’m old school and love air cooled engines.

    • @BlackdogADV
      @BlackdogADV 4 месяца назад +1

      @@whatsstefon they limited the power because of A2 restrictions. This bike is capable of 10-20 more horsepower. Look at all the big bore kits available. They need to bump up the power and they know it. Look for a liquid cooled 70HP Interceptor in the new feature. They did good on the 450 Himalayan now it’s time to put some performance in the bigger bikes.
