The last round of the world championship (Australia GP) takes place in Adelaide, South Australia. That track still exists, though it's been used exclusively for the Supercars Championship. There's even a chicane on this track that is named after Ayrton Senna himself.

It wasn't till I was 17-18 that I finally beat this game. As a kid, it was tough. I hated the first track with a passion. Brazil and I think another S.American track were my favourite tracks. Moon looked like my uncle, also.
No. In Super Monaco GP 2, you cant get a seat in Madonna unless you win the championship. It doesn't matter how many times you beat Senna in the first season, he won't give up the seat. I challenged him just for fun in the final race, and he proves once again to be the best. :)

Subscribed moment I saw you using the 7 speed, I have no idea how anyone can play this game using auto or four speed 😄 This one is so much harder than the original. Super Monaco GP was one of the first games I saw on a Mega Drive, this kid I knew got one early on in the UK, I had not long got a Master System. Seeing SMGP blew my mind, the music was incredible and the in car view, a SEVEN SPEED manual and the career mode over 16 tracks. It was huge and had so much depth. I eventually got my own and played until I was hearing the tyre squeak and groaning sound on a downshift lying in bed at night... Never did manage to beat G Ceara and keep the Madonna car though. I used to get him relegated to the Zeroforce car in due course as punishment for his rubber band cheating...🤣 (There are videos of people beating him without even using the 7 speed - how??) The second one, the music (the original is a Sega classic what went wrong?) is terrible but it's a much harder game. I've never won the championship although I have a save game which looks promising from a while back! Is there no second season twist in SMGP2 like G Ceara taking you on and you have to fight back? No end game title sequence? I have not watched to the end to avoid spoilers haha. I'm sure if Ayrton had not died (RIP) that Sega would have made a third game. It would have been great to see a SMGP 3 (and then 4!) on a 16 meg cartridge later on in the Mega Drive/Genesis life when the programmers were getting the best out the hardware and could have improved the tracks, added more elements to the career mode, plus more scenery/ better graphics. Super Monaco should have been an incredible game or series of games but it's just another of many Sega "What Ifs?"
Thank you for your support and feedback! I too managed to beat G Ceara back in the 90s in the first two races, I remember I used 4 gears in the first race, and automatic gearbox in the second race. The thing is, that all NPC cars slow down a bit if you use 4 gears, and even further if you use automatic, and I quickly discovered that you had to have full speed, not let go of the gas for a split second, in order to catch up, and taking the top north curve in round 1 on 7th gear, was simply not possible, at least not to me, but it worked with 4 gears. Same with the second round, I could only take the most sharp corner with automatic transmission. And yes, I too would have loved to see more Super Monaco titles. There is a Sega Saturn "game" with Ayrton Senna, but I believe thats more of a gallery of him, with photos, videos and interviews and so on. Except the Super Monaco games, Senna is also playable in some arcade Formula one games.
@@swerutufon I use the same driving technique of downshifting for corners, the hairpin at San Marino is a killer. Got to use 3rd to get round (well I do). I guess that the game is programmed to let you catch him ONLY if you never let off the throttle, for the whole race. I watched to the end of the video and was glad to see an ending but would like to know what happens in season two, as this is where it surprises the player and hots up in the first game. The NPCs are so much better in the second game.
@@DougieSRi Nothing more happens. That *is* the end. Even if you become champion a second time, the game just restarts at the beginning of a new season. No credit roll, nothing.

So, I guess game developers wanted people to experience the rivalry through a TV Screen, if they couldn't see it in reality. Senna may not have been involved with its making, but he sponsored it. Same story with Nigel Mansell and that other game. However, There is a point when Ayrton Senna talks when he says: Final Lap. Unless....Wait....That's it. +ephabouyed Lower teams will not offer a seat in their teams, even if you win against your rival, like you could in Super Monaco 1. You can only be demoted to lower teams by losing to your rival.

Never understood why Sega, always made better version of early 90's racing games, better on Computer than on Sega's Consoles the first Super Monaco Gp on Commodore Amiga, it is better than the second one Sega Genesis under every side... strange thing, because Amiga was much less powerfull than Sega Genesis, this game give such a feeling of empty remind me Pit Stop from Atari released in early 80's does not remind me Super Monaco Gp at All , graphic are so poor, nothing at the side of the street, and gameplay is just sucks... 😢

Nice driving man! I'm trying hard to beat the game in the first season driving Serga from the beginning to the end of the championship,.. quite a hard deal (I managed to do this driving Feet, but it's way easier). What I really find difficult with this game is to avoid the other cars, as they're so slow if compared with mine (even when I drive rubbish like Serga)! I can easily win five or six gps (USA, San Marino, Monaco, Canada, England and Portugal), but I always struggle with Brazil, Germany, Hungary, Belgium and Spain, whereas Ayrton usually takes them all!
On youtube I found a video of a guy beating the game with SERGA but I think he used somekind of cheat, it's very difficult to beat. One cool challenge that you can try is to drop to MOON and get all the way back, I've done this a few times it's cool.

in the past when I have beaten my rival sometimes it has not said the team wants me and I ve had to beat them again maybe 2 times more
You have to beat them 2-3 times, always.
