I enjoy your videos. I am from Washington state in the US and recently bought a 20’ O’day for my retirement in a couple years. Your videos are building my excitement for when the time comes!
You thanks us for watching but it is we who should thank you for your efforts and production in great sailing videos that allow us a moment of daydream so thank You Paul and as always, Cheers Mate!! ⛵⛵⛵
Well it's only polite to thank people who have taken the time to leave a comment....as they don't have to. Often channels never reply to comments as it's too time consuming but I think it's the right thing to do. So thank you again for watching James, I do value your support, cheers Paul
@@SailingKateLouise Oh yes, I understand and I don't fault you for thanking us, in fact I find it quite polite. I do however feel we should show our appreciation for your "great sailing channel!" (tags strategically placed for sailing search engines.) 😂👌
You made my day - again! I love the pocket ship, would love to see a detailed walkaround. My reality is a £300 wayfarer, and I am quite ok with that ;) Built my galley box this weekend, thanks to your helpful video.
Thanks again for the entertaining videos Paul. Myall is a lovely spot. I have been working on the new (old) Princess, now that I have completed another project. I hope to have her in the water before winter which is probably a nice time to go sailing.
Hi yes I've got an inflatable kayak but it's very hard to get on and off from the boat, as it tends to sink a bit in the middle if you try and stand up(inflatable floor). But the SUP is under such high pressure it's as solid as a rock. Not only fun but keeps you dry in winter. The inflatable kayak tends to pool any water from your feet, to the lowest point, which tends to be where your bum is, so you always get wet. Also the SUP doesn't take up much room. Thanks again for watching, cheers Paul
We have a couple of paddleboards. They are a lot of fun, a lot like a bicycle, grab and you are on the water. Very relaxing, we just drift and watch the birds. Another great day, helping us still in the winter looking forward to our summers.
Thanks for watching... I think we are really lucky here that we can sail all year round. In fact winter is often nicer less people and a chill in the air. Cheers Paul
@@SailingKateLouise - been a strange winter, not much snow, only one short very cold spell. We got a random dusting of snow day before yesterday but will be gone again as temperatures move towards 50F.
Another great video. I wonder if with a few less PSI the inflatable SUP could double as a mattress? In the interest of dinghy cruising innovation it might be worth a try!
Hi Rob now that's an idea I like the sound of. Terry's Sup is 10ft 6 which is too long to fit in his cabin but with a fold it might work. I'll suggest it at the Sand Isles on the 16th are you coming?, cheers Paul
@@SailingKateLouise for those of us with limited cargo space it could be really useful to be able to tow our beds behind! And no, as usual I have other commitments so won’t be able to make the sand isles.
You did have he best of the weather Paul. I stayed an extra night and had the pleasure of a series of thunderstorms, and another boatie said 70mm of rain at Shelley beach. Still all good fun and great sailing.
Hi Paul, Great video as always. If you stop the video at 7.03 and you are looking at the tree stump and in the middle of the picture slightly left of centre at the bottom , it looks like a rams head!!!
Great video of another lovely sail. I'm intrigued by the outboard motor bracket in your motor well - looks as if you can raise & lower the motor in the well. I need to do the same in the Caledonia Yawl I am building. Is the bracket available on the market?
Hi Neil, thanks for watching. I had 2 fixed aluminium slides which guided the outboard mounting board up and down, But the props get hitting the hull opening when lowering. So the slides now pivot at the bottom allowing for a change in angle while lowering.... if that makes sense. Cheers Paul
Yep a big doer upper, it's riddled with termites. But interestingly there are a few old farms around Myall Lakes that were taken over in 1972 when the area was declared a national park. But life would have been tough, it's about 18km from the nearest town Buladelah by road or river. Thanks for watching, cheers Paul
Well at least they are small. Interestingly you could see the droplets reflecting the sun, but pretty hard to see on camera. Thanks for watching, cheers Paul
Hi James she sails well under Jib and mizzen on a reach or running, but sometimes stalls while tacking, You need to get good speed up to complete the tack as I don't have a centre board so there is not a lot to pivot around. Kate Louise has a lot of sail, so dropping the main is always an option to reefing, if it gets to 15knots plus. Thanks again for watching, cheers Paul
As Paul said, about the size of an alsatian (German Shepherd) and a dog that size can easily kill an adult human. Fatal dog attacks aren't common but do happen among domestic breeds from time to time. You should also consider that dogs are pack animals so where you see one set of tracks there may well be other dingoes nearby.
@@stevep5819 Thanks for the answer. I did not really thin that dingoes are that big. I tought more like the size of Shiba Inu- So if they are the size of German sheppards I see that they can clearly be a danger to a fully grown human. .
Well I was in a hammock once at Myall lakes about 3 ft off the ground and at 4am I was woken by a dingo howling like a wolf about 15ft from me, baring his teeth and looking very hungry. Luckily he got fed up with me shinning a torch in his face and wondered off....it's not the sort of thing you forget, cheers Paul
