Finally. I love it when the writers remember that the lasso is the embodiment of truth and has god-tier magical properties.

She should have tied the lasso to the hilt of the sword and then spun it around her, basically recreating a "light" tornado that destroyed any shadow creature in came into contact with. Diana has used her lasso like this in comic books tying it to the hilt of an axe, or a large rock, or even Superman's head and spine (see WW: Dead Earth) to transform the lasso into an area of effect attack.
