@@jagjyot4828 In which world are you living?
Alpha testing is usally done in-house, and they do of course get paid.
But Beta testing, regardless of being closed of open, is usally not.
There is no "software beta tester" job. Don't know how you get that idea and claim it with such authority.
Paying is actually detrimental. You don't necessarily piss off the guys you're paying and may be subconciously be inclined to sugar coat your feedback.
The best feedback you get from paying customers as part of a pre-order/pre-release scheme closed-beta.
Open Betas bring you basically limitless feedback for free.
Early copies can be shipped to the press for previews, showing off new features while generally not getting lash back because of bugs if the release is still months ahead.
Sorry dude, noones gonna pay you to review some random beta version of a piece of software you don't care about. And the people who do care are generally willing to do it for free and not any less comitted to file exhausting feedback and bug reports.
Also let be totally honest (and a bit cynical) the real beta testing begins once the product is on store shelves nowadays.

Just like every other program they decide to redesign and dumb down to a point were you have like 2 minor settings filling a whole 27 inch display and everything you could simply adjust in Win7 you need to navigate through a maze in the new settings.
There is a reason why they kept the old programs/UI as an option in Win10 for its entire lifetime, they know noone would use it if they only left you the dumbed down mobile stuff.

When Win10 came out they stated that Win10 would be the last operating system we would buy and that they would only update and not release new versions, and considering firstly half of what's in this build is already hidden away in Win10 insider builds anyway, and secondly it seems to be fully using the Win10 base code and feels like just a reskin, so i would guess that going by this information it will simply be a massive update to Win10 with a name change and reskin and Win10 as we know it will become a rollback point.

@Rel Kinda agree, but I am talking not only about the visual design aspect but functional too. They've added new settings/control panel, and still half of the settings are in the old panel and can't be accessed through the new one and vice versa. These kind of inconsistencies are driving me nuts sometimes.
For example to get to the network and sharing center earlier it took like 2 clicks and now you have to go to the new control panel by clicking the network adapter icon in the task bar, and then click a button which takes you back to the old control panel...

To provide information: the 'border' settings for apps is a security measure. Ie you can force borders so you can see when apps are screen shotting and disallow screenshots of inactive tabs to protect information. It's in apps because any program is essentially an app for Windows

    • @bumbeflyxawzeeb1965
      @bumbeflyxawzeeb1965 3 года назад

Yeah, kind of what i think. If apps can take screenshots, criminals are gonna abuse it. Setting borders will limit access to private info. One thing, i'd also want to limit access per user on the device: one user will DL any and all apps that "look awesome" and then forget about it, while another user i can rely on to take only a trusted few.

Joe, another great presentation. The current leak seems to be mostly cosmetic - eye candy. The Start menu has never re-captured the strong points of the Windows 7 Start menu: grouping applications by category; find out what the user wants to do, then show him or her the applications that do it. Constant changing of the interface confuses the average user and could eventually drive them toward Linux or the Mac. I agree with you that there has to be more to it than just what the leaks are showing.

I have the 22000.51 Pro version and funnily enough, it just ran as an update as I am a Window's insider on the Dev channel. It kept everything as I had it with just the new start button moved to the center, which I will keep for the time being. I have tested most of my programs and they run fine. In the last couple of days, the online compatibility checker has been disabled and I like a few others had to enable TPM in BIOS for it to work. Apparently, that's what a few people are suggesting, just download the Dev version and if it installs, you're compatible and good to go. I had thought that I needed a plugin TPM module (4136) for my MSI MEG ACE, but My 3600X has TPM support and it worked that way and without a glitch.

Or just dragging the window in that direction, far left for snap left far right for snap right, up for maximize, and corners will split into 4ths, 10 will even do that thing where it then shows your open programs to snap them into place as well.

Animated or expanding windows is the most terrible idea when one works remotely. A close second is the user required to edit the registry to effect changes.
The old control panel is vastly superior to what they want us to use in Win10 and maybe Win11.
The line spacing, yes I buy a larger monitor so that I can see more blank space instead of more information. On my screen. Sometimes I wonder whether the people who come up with such things actually use the computer for working.

    • @cgcrafted4684

Maybe who come up with these are graphics designers who don't even use Windows, or not that much. I learn Graphic Design (not UX/GUI) and now it's apparently trendy to use wide space between texts but we do it for print etc., not for UX design on Windows. Also lot of them use Macs or iPads but mainly just their phones - not like I hate any of those things though, or even graphics design, I just don't agree with these new trendy oversimplified styles.

Steam Resident Evil Village is reporting black screen issues on multiple nvidia RTX hardwares. You will need a specific driver as a workaround(older geforce game ready drivers released for GTX era). So I can say there are stability issues already with graphics drivers for this leak on certain latest games with RTX nvidia GPUs. Streaming with steam guard was way too perfect than I expected. I couldn't differentiate from my old hardware and the actual local machine. There are a lot of cool features on taskbar.

One feature that Windows should really adopt is the option to make one window stay on top of the others. apprently, the only app that can do that is the task manager. It is already a common feature on Linux

They had to merge the search to the start menu experience. Give it a back button when transitioning between Windows Search and Start Menu.
Aside, just revive the Windows Timeline, it'll look good. Cortana uses dedicated dock icon, or just app icon in start menu to pin too.

@Him Not scrap everything. I want them to redesign things that need to be redesigned, add performance enhancements and features, remove things people have complained about (not make it more intrusive like spamming asking for an account), and reinvent the OS. Windows 10 from 2015 is almost the same as it is now. And in 2015 it was almost the same as 8.1. And 8.1 was almost the same as 8. All they do is keep making minor visual changes and changing the task bar. Yawn. At the very least, they certainly shouldn’t be saying it’s “one of the most exciting updates ever” if it’s literally a skin for Windows 10. Pathetic imo.

I've seen other vids on this 'leak' and I'm glad you went more in-depth and showed the task manager, that build is running an easy 30 less processes than what I'm currently running on my Win10 build. If whenever this does come and it runs close to that amount, then people like me with older computers shouldn't have to worry about losing even more frames while gaming like when I went from Win7 to Win10. Thanks for the great vid!

I liked the animations and the way of decluttering the start menu, but then it doesn't look like there has been a major UI overhaul like it was with Windows XP to Windows Vista or Windows 7 to Windows 8.1 or Windows 10. Those days it was so cool to see the major UI overhaul. But one thing I feel is that since there is no major upgrade, all Windows 10 devices can easily run Windows 11 with no sweat.
