Yeah it only took me till the final mission to realize the two ice figures in the Middle Point of this opening you know the one with the one guy holding his gun and then the second one appears behind him. I noticed the legs of the second one was Miller's mechanical ones. Making me realize the guy pointing the rifle is artyom. The Game's opening foreshadowed the final level LOL. But yeah I do love this in the final mission as it's nostalgic especially since before buying Metro Exodus I completed both Redux versions. Completing last light right when I bought Exodus. I'm at the part where you get Miller's rail gun attachment. Allowing me to turn my air gun into the hellbreath. My favorite gun to use in 2033. Even seeing the mole rats as annoying as they were in the previous two games was nice after not seeing them throughout this game. This was a wonderful way to end the story. By going through a level that pretty much screams Nostalgia for 2033 and last Light. Hell going through the level got me all giddy traveling with Miller again. I instantly flash back to the prologue of 2033 when we were climbing up the ladder well Miller was pretty much questioning us on how we could possibly have seen how things could have gone in our little journey. And when you think about it. Everything happened because the protagonist did something impulsive. Remembering that Alex actually wanted him to deliver the weapons to Riga and then come back to exhibition. But artyom had to be impulsive , he just had to fulfill his promise to Hunter. As much as I wanted to call b******* on Miller's accusations especially on his profile in artyom's journal that artyom is impulsive and egotistical he wasn't wrong because why I still remember everything said in each of the loading screens in the previous two games. He did show a level egotism because he felt he was the only one who could do these things. Even though this made Miller kind of hypocritical because you know the Sparta saying. If not us then who? Our team was only pretty much following that mind said even before he knew the saying. Because he wanted to help the people of his home station. Hell I didn't even get mad when he still keeps blaming me for everything that went wrong since Moscow since yeah I agree with him it is our fault, the Hansa goons pretty much said they wouldn't have shot me if I hadn't tried the struggle with them when they were pulling the old woman and the boy out of the van to execute them. Hell it's pretty much said he and Anna would have just gotten lashings and send back to Miller for disciplinary action. He didn't have to interfere but he did it didn't change anything. Hell it made the situation worse to the point Miller had to outright turn on Hansa to keep him in an alive after helping capture them. Journal entry was kind of yeah I agree that yeah he was unwittingly helping an illegitimate conspiracy. But he was in a comfortable position he was still the leader of the Best Defense Force in the Metro. And he could retire peacefully in polis. In artyom ruined all that for not just him but everybody because he just had to Rock the Boat. I honestly feel a bit of finding if people outside the Metro was him wanting to do something truly good. Because remember his greatest accomplishment was almost wiping out the dark ones. One of the biggest moments of shame in his life after last Light pretty much showed to him that they were innocent they adopted him and he had foolishly failed their expectations by trying to wipe them out. But again it makes him just like Miller, who I can easily see as replacing Hunter as an inspirational figure and honestly Miller was a better replacement seeing how I like to believe everything that was in Canon for Hunter from the books still applies here. then the end he pretty much suffered a case of he who fights monsters could never settle down into a peaceful life, and of course the hypocrisy of his if it's hostile you kill it seeing how nobody it says that quote among Sparta. Hell artyom never even says that quote or even mentioned it ever again after 2033 for the if not us then who? honestly you can see doing everything to get the bad ending as invoking that. Because you can be attacked by the individuals you're not supposed to be attacking, the cultist in Volga, the tribals and slaves at Caspian , and the pioneers & pirates in taiga. all of them can attack you for different reasons. And you might be thinking if it's hostile you kill it when it comes to them however that type of mindset only leads to as Khan said the Fate you deserve. honestly it's just beautiful and seeing the folder on my PS4 that I made for the Metro series I called the Metro trilogy. And just seeing oldbury games closely connected with each other in the same area just looking at each of Damon their icons. It just gives me that sense of accomplishment since old me before I played Resident Evil 4 when it came out on the Wii. Never would have touched any type of game that has horror elements in them. Never was a fan of harm back in the day growing up. But when I chose to take my chance on Resident Evil 4 not only did I like it. Games like it ended up being one of my favorites next to RPGs.
