Ha ha. That's a great question. Why would I create this? I guess I just acted on such thoughts that often pop into my head. You should see all the stuff I don't make.
Foley sound design is my first thought when it comes to its usefulness! Imagine a squirrel opening a nut, firewood crackling, or knuckles (?) The sound also reminds me of a bicycle chain. Just needs a bit of isolation from the ambient sounds ;)
Ha ha ha. I can't imagine this being better than what foley artists currently do for those types of sounds, but I love that those things popped into your head : )
Thanks. Yeah, besides being a piece of "art", I'd struggle to find any use for this. Maybe a tool to illustrate some specific physics concept, but that's a stretch.
I could see this used as a visual metaphor in a movie: A society being led (largely successfully) in one direction with occasional revolts and resistance in small, unsuccessful, bursts
My first thought was that it would be a really difficult thing to model because of the chaotic nature of the thing. But then I realized that that was just my '90s brain thinking. Physics simulations have gotten astoundingly good.
Something about this is so eerie. It's like watching something alive that isn't supposed to be. I love it
Ha ha. I know what you mean. Thanks.
Or is it
I was going to try to make a joke but this just tickles the right part of my brain
Glad you get a kick out of it.
oo polygons
I cannot imagine what persuaded someone to make this but it’s
It’s crackly. I love it.

Love it. One of the least useful things I've seen described as useless

If you use the magnets alot then that'd be a fun way to store them. You can snap a couple off and the loop will probably still complete itself
@@AverageMichaelJordans That's true. It makes me wonder about the upper and lower bounds of magnet quantity that would function with this machine.
I love weird visual art like this. It doesn't have to be anything - it just is.
oddly fascinating. i like 0:02 and 0:51 where it balances for a short while Ü
Yeah, those moments are pretty satisfying.

ha ha. I love this take on it.
Kind of videos I just click on and then watch without wondering why am I watching this 😭😭 thanks bro
I don't know why but I feel like I can watch this for like hours can we have the one hour cut stop holding back
Ha. I really should have filmed it for longer. I guess the next best thing is to plug in the URL to one of those video looping sites.
@@japhyriddle yeah or once is ends it plays backwards that way it looks like it is going back and forth
@@sabrod92 Much of it actually looks normal when played in reverse. There are a few moments that look very unnatural though.
@@japhyriddle ahh damn but that's the mystery. Kinda like that tenet movie.
i could watch this for hours
I really should have recorded a much longer video of it. Alas, it was disassembled long ago.
Love it!
Fantastic work fam❤
Thats what they used to call me back in college
Ha. You won this one.
This is what the synapses in my brain look like when I'm zoning out 😆💕
Ha ha ha.
It's not USELESS! It creates magnetic angular loops! That-that's a use! Right?
When it got stuck and wouldn’t rotate, it was so stressful for me lol
It's definitely the tension/conflict in the narrative. We overcame the struggle though.
Nice,,,
Cool cool but WHAT IS A SONG that Answers "Why do farts smell bad? And why do Boys laugh at farts?" If you could
oh hell yeah
Это чётки для буддийского робота
It looks like it's in pain 😰
Try recreating it with CGI

This is in real life right?
What's shown in the video was a real physical object that I built, if that's what you mean.
something
At least you had something to say.
