Linux is quite confusing in the beginning, but you’ll get the hang of it eventually! It’s such an awesome OS for backend applications! And a money saver as well 😝
Oh Yeah you are right! At the beginning I was so angry with Linux. But once you can handle it your will love it! Your work much faster BUT you always have to know what are you doing #rm -rf * 😂😂😂
Linux is not an OS it is a kernel for the OS. And there are distrobutions which has graphical user interface. I guess you are using a server side Linux distro, that's why you think it doesn't have any UI.
But it is common that everybody say that Linux is an OS. Otherswise it would be to complicated. At the end of a day we all talk about Operating System and Linux is a Operating System. :)
How are the taxes there is it really worth working in Switzerland? i hear the taxes are high I am from the US but live in Italy I freelance mainly but was considering trying Switzerland I got a few offers there I turned down but after watching this video I feel more curious now to try it
Hey theeseus i dont know who said to you that the taxes are high they are absolute not high.😃 that’s why I love to live and work here. The taxes depends from the city where you are living. For example the City Zug is known for their very low low taxes. That’s why a lot of very rich people live in Zug. I live in Zurich and the taxes are here also very low. I really can recommend you to move to Switzerland. Living and working here is a blessing! You have sooo many things to explore! The nature is the most beautiful reason why I love being here. The people are kind, the vibe in the city is just perfect!
@@Moshware Very interesting! Is it easy to open a bank account there? I def like the idea of trying there I was thinking Germany Or Netherlands Or even Switzerland since they have higher pay in EU versus where I am at in Italy where they wanna pay a senior dev like 25k a year lol not even worth to work in Italy to be honest. But thanks for the advice I will def spend some time this week looking into my options :)
@@theeseus Hey, to be honest, I wouldn't recommend either of those countries to you. I grew up in Germany and know the quality of life there. Switzerland is much more developed than Germany. In Germany, you could earn a lot as a senior, around €90,000, but unfortunately, the taxes are very high, which can be very demotivating! In Switzerland, you pay low taxes, and as a senior, you can expect a starting salary of at least 100,000 CHF. And we're talking about a starting salary; I know many friends who earn well over 100,000 CHF and don't want to return to Germany. 😉 Since Switzerland has an Italian part, you can relax among palm trees and sunshine on the weekends. Switzerland is so diverse, I love it! I also made a video about working and living in Switzerland on my channel. If you're interested, feel free to check it out! To open a bank account it is mandatory to have a valid working contract in Switzerland 🇨🇭
@@Moshware Very interesting thanks for the feedback I have a question maybe you can answer :) I am a US Citizen but I have residency in Italy because I purchased a home here at a very good price how would I become a resident in Switzerland would my Job help with this or would I need to find an alternative solution and apply for it? Just an FYI - The reason why I bring up me being a US Citizen is because I know or at least I heard Switzerland has some weird rules with the bank for US Citizens but if I'm a resident then I assume I wont have any issues to live there. Or at least I hope not :)
@@theeseus Sure, you're welcome! So, what you just mentioned about the situation is something I've also heard. I am 100% sure that, with your US passport, you are allowed to apply for a job here in Switzerland without any problem. In Switzerland, the process for immigrating and living here is as follows: first, you need a work contract. Without that, you have no chance of applying for housing or anything else. Once you have a work contract, all doors are open, whether you have a US passport or not. I personally have many colleagues who are US citizens and live and work here. So don’t worry just apply for a job here 💪
