- Shizuoka Hobby Show 2022 is right around the corner, and the fun has already begun! The MGEX Strike Freedom has been revealed in full, three new HGUC MS got announced, and the RG God Gundam gets a much-needed amendment in tonight's episode of Gunpla News.

I'm SO excited for the RG God Gundam, esp with the new God Finger hand it really is looking like the definitive God Gundam kit. Dunno if I'm gonna get the expansion, but the kit itself is going to be a must-own
Me too; I’m hoping that it’ll have a good inner frame because the last RG that I got the RG Wing Gundam TV had the weakest and slipperiest inner frame of a kit since the old premolded RG inner frames. Also the v-fin on that kit breaks so easily.
Yea the original mention of late spring during the initial announcement was a mistranslation.
In Japanese it read that full release info available late spring. MGEX SF the kit itself was never coming out late spring.
[I'd hate to be that guy, but...] technically Shizuoka Hobby Show has already started on the 11th, but it's only open to the press and industry people. The weekend event is when the show floor is open to the public, so I don't think we'll get any more announcements later.
I'm kind of surprised that Bandai Spirits didn't release any additional specs about the Real Grade King Of Braves Gaogaigar.

I think the "Spring 2022" bit meant this very announcement, not the actual release date.

With how weak the yen is, it totally makes sense for Bamco to "ignore" the domestic market... and offer more kits overseas. Considering the current shortage, I think we'll see the same situation with both the MGEX Strike and RG God kits where it'll be difficult to get those at a reasonable price for at least 8 months.
With the new factory not due till 2024, we're likely going to see the drought for at least another 2 years... Mostly because of the imbalance of demand/supply and Bandai not able to handle scalpers
The strike freedom looks cool but 15000 is still pretty steep for what's essentialy a 2.0 with a bit of coating. The 30mm kits look cool though and the rg god Gundam looks amazing as well! Hope the next few reveals won't disappoint. Also hope that the new strike freedom releasing in November doesn't mean that it's the only special kit this year.....
Kind of agree with this. The reason why you should get a MGEX kit is for the "gimmick" that makes that kit "EXTREME." MGEX Unicorn did exactly that with its lighting gimmick (It's pretty freaking bright). Worth 200+ USDs? Absolutely not. Should be 180 USDs at MOST. I hands down agree with what you said about the MGEX SF. I watched another gunpla builder and they essentially said it just looks like a resin kit. If the extreme gimmick of this kit is the "gold" then it's worrying with gold injected molds... The injected gold/silver on the RG Hi-Nu was a nightmare. If the gold is bogged in mold lines then most people would have to paint it and would defeat the purpose of the gimmick... So here's hoping that not the case.
Gumpla kit will cheaper overtime. Mgex Unicorn was 23000 and its contantly on sale for 16000.

I pre-ordered that mgex so hard. Still expensive when all said and done when importing but damn will it be a centerpiece.

I've seen a video showing that the golds on mgex sf are not as shiny as the promotional material. Hopefully it's better on the final product, but still little bit disappointed. Anyway i'm very glad that bandai has decided to fix/include the right pose for the burning finger, but why only the right hand? Still better than none i guess.

Hey second soundwave I found info of an upcoming gundam ace magazine.
I think because of where the white parts are on the kits, two kits should be able to be made white with just one runner, which hopefully will reduce the costs of the kit

I hate that additional Bandai Namco logo. Bandai name was already on the box anyway and it's not like you know that the name was changed to Bandai Spirits unless you look near the barcode. It's like we need you to make sure you know it's from Bandai Namco

I'm interested in seeing what the price of the MGEX Strike Freedom will actually be once US based retailers start putting it up for preorder. 14,000 yen sounds like a really nice price before US MSRP, taxes, and shopping are involved. I believe USA Gundam store has it up already and the price all in is around 200, only a tiny bit less than what I paid for the MGEX Unicorn (220). That seems pretty damn steep afterall, so I'm waiting to see if the price is any different from other sellers
yea might as well buy from a japanese website, and buy in bundle. n pay like 150 for shipping is still cheaper than a x1.8 price in US lol
Not to be a naysayer but I kinda don't like the injection mold gold that's visible on the SF's inner frame...just like, couldn't that have been plated too?
hmmm wasn't that interested in the MGEX strike freedom but at that price and looking like that....damnit guess at some point in the future i'm replacing my MG strike freedom :P
So how do release dates work in America? For example: The rg god gundam. I hear its coming in August but im hearing that's only in japan. Im new to this stuff and i just wanna know when i should keep my eyes open
Unless Bandai is trying to release something in the US on the same date as Japan then the Japanese date is around the time they do overseas shipping. They ship by boat which can add at least 2 months

They nailed the mgex strike freedom in my opinion, also the 03rd ms team was from a gundam arcade game
