He was a fan of the Cubs who was there to cheer them on and them being five outs away from playing in the World Series, how the hell does that not give anyone a guilty conscience the man is entitled to privacy, and the team was right to give him his own World Series ring when they finally finished the job as a Cubs fan I grind my axe with Alex Gonzalez WAAAAAAAY more
@@thedude3065 What is forgotten is fans think had ALOU caught it, it would have ended the Inning. It would have been 2 out. The next out did not happen until a sac fly gave the Marlins a 4-3 lead. So the worst case Scenario, the Game would have AT Least been tied 3-3.

1986 World Series Game 6 - Leaving Bill Buckner in to finish the game. Dave Stapleton had always been put in as defensive replacement, but manager John McNamara decided to leave Buckner in so he could be on the field for the final out that would punch their ticket to the World Series. After the infamous event of that game, McNamara would continually change his story and make excuses for decades, in order to shift blame away from his decision.
@@chrisp679 And then there was controversy over that for decades afterwards, with McNamara making up stories that the players say were false. The feud and the manager's lies after this game are what snowballed this moment into one of the controversial moments in postseason history.
Number 4 where the first baseman CLEARLY pulled the baserunner off the bag was a complete bs decision by the umpire. Too arrogant, too much of an ego to admit he made a mistake!
Uuuuugh, the Bartman Ball. That poor fucker. I cringed when it happened. I knew we were done right there. And Bartman got so unfairly shafted afterwards. Death threats and everything.
Couple that are noteworthy. The first was in game 3 of the 1977 NLCS. First, in the 2nd inning, Garvey is on first, Dusty Baker hits a double, the throw comes to the plate and seemingly nails Garvey but he's called safe. 47 years later and Garvey has yet to touch home plate. Then in the 9th inning, Phillies are up by 1 and Lopes hits a screamer off that hits Schmidt to Bowa and Bowa throw to first to narrowly get Lopes but he's called safe and the Dodgers tie it. Of course some would say the bigger controversy in this game was Danny Ozark not replacing Greg Luzinski with Jerry Martin like he always did. Another would be in the 1978 World Series. In the 6th inning with the Dodgers up 3-1, Reggie Jackson is on first and Thurman Munson is on 2nd. Lou Pinella hits a grounder to Bill Russell who fields the ball, tags 2nd base to force Jackson out then throws to first but the ball hits Jackson in the leg and Munson scores the 2nd run. The replay shows Jackson leaned into the throw to get it to hit him and even though Lasorda complains the call stands. Yankees won the game to tie the series then won the next 2 to win the Series. Had they lost they would have been down 3-1.
SMH MLB!! How could you copyright the GOAT!!! Anyway, I already said my peace on this video before so I get it. I said Maier's should be above Bartman's but I understand the level of attention Bartman got.
The Bartman incident was ridiculous and pathetic. The threats he faced, destroying the ball over the damn “Goat curse”, someone even conducted a stage play where Bartman was the villain of the story constantly swatting important everyday items out of people’s hands. Stupid responses to the Cubs own collapse.
Although not the postseason it affected the postseason. 2007 Game 163 Matt Holiday never touched home plate. The game should’ve continued and maybe Padres win and go to the playoffs
Some of those subjective calls I have to wonder if the umpires get swayed by ruling in favor of their favorite team. To be so adamant when they obviously made a mistake is mindboggling. Fans...what you gunna do? Stupid is as stupid does. And as someone else suggested, 2021 the heinous Flores check swing that wasn't. Not too many of these result in the end of the game/series like that one did.
The more I reflect on the Bartman incident, the more I believe that Moises Alou losing his god damn shit over the game state not changing at all cost them the series.
Bartman is a travesty. Anyone wouldve done the same and plenty if people did. Now being that the Cubs fans are in top 3 of worst fans in baseball blamed him. Im bummed the curse has been broken.
Had to re-upload this video due to copyright issue, sorry if you got double notifications and have already seen it.
The glove swat was bush league but the "I got it!" Play from A-Rod is just hilarious.
Poor Bartman. They did that poor kid dirty. He did what any fan would have done

That doesn't make my axe with Alex Gonzalez any less sharp. The Marlins had a better Shortstop named Alex Gonzalez by far.@@jimnfl7134
A SMART fan gives his player every opertunity to catch the ball first, then grabs the ball if not caught!

Love how any controversial play involving the yankees always seems to go their way - even when it shouldn't. Especially number 3

Humm Baby Baseball, you got the best channel on BB, I stand by that. These lists that you compile are super informative and super entertaining. 👌
A-Rod yelling "I got it" as the base runner during a pop up was smart as hell.

Alou was never going to catch that ball

A good list of some crazy plays and moments in MLB history! Crazy that a decent amount of these involve the Red Sox! Good video, Eric!
I remember No 1 like it was yesterday.
Alou had a serious meltdown lol.
Make a part 2 Eric.😃 Go Giants💯
Ron Gant played the game right -- he even signed my baseball card and sent it back to me, always the sign of a awesome ball-player
I shared this video too humm baby!! hopefully you get more views!
Flip 1 and 2. The 85 game was in the World Series, which is a higher stressed moment. With the Bartman case, it was just in the NLCS.
You should also have mentioned that Bartman got a World Series ring when they finally did win
The worst ones are when umpires don’t need to do anything and end up making a call effecting the game like the turner call
Was the umpire that made the phantom tag at second base Rich Garcia???

11:27, you've meant Game 6.
It seems like so many of these are controversies simply because the fans don't give a shit about the rules
Typical cheating Astros. Also, the Gant-Hrbek call and the Denkinger calls should have resulted in those umps getting one year suspensions.
