Thank you so much for making this informative and helpful video! I was quite proud that I could update my jean jacket by myself and didn't have to take it to the tailor!
I actually found an easier way to remove them, using only a pair of pliers. I use the cutters of the pliers on the other side (the side where you use the screwdriver), only instead of cutting the button the pliers actually separate the two parts as you squeeze. Basically, the same thing you are doing, but a bit faster. I still have to thank you, because I wouldn't have gotten the pliers idea without your video.
Thank you for this video. I have a jacket from Walmart and each button has their terra and sky brand name on it and it is super ugly. I don't wanna buy a new jacket just to get better buttons especially since I wanna modify it with patches and shit.
❤. Blessings. Very nice job on your jacket. Thank you for the demonstration, very well done. Keep up the excellent work love. One love Afro G64 lamiert Park Village LA Crenshaw 😇⭐✨💜🔥🌎💦🌞
I got mine from Fabricland - hopefully they stock them in a shop near you! (I am going to Toronto right now actually and if I see them in a shop there I will leave a comment and let you know! 🥰)
Absolutely! I got all the music from Epidemic Sound and the titles of the songs are as follows: Open All Night by Frook, Sunset Drive by Future Joust & my intro song is Boom Bap Jazz by Amber Spill.
It depend on how big the hole is, as you can see in the video some I just did put back in and others I stitched to make sure the new buttons were securely attached. It’s up to you! Good luck! 😊
@@missmatti thank you. I will give this a try. If mangle the bottom portion of the button, can I use the bottom portion of a new bottom of the same size?
I have not even got through one minute through the video and I broke my jeans and I am already gathering my stuff I need edit then I relise we are removing them
Good question! I have answered others here in the comments asking the same thing and my theory is that you can as long as you do not damage it. But I need to test it out to make sure! 😊

Glad it was helpful! 💜 And well done! 👏🏻
Thank you for this hands on video! Very helpful
Thank you! My husband said it couldn't be done without special equipment but I knew he was wrong! 😂
Haha.. you’re welcome! I’m so glad that you trusted your gut here 😄

Thank you for sharing! I have to try that out next time I need to remove jean buttons. 😊
Thank you, this is such a helpful video. Excited to replace the buttons on my new jacket
Great tutorial. You have such a calming voice too! Nice work 🤙🏽
Thank you! 🥰 Glad to hear you found my tutorial helpful!
So detailed, thanks for the tutorial
Very useful - always wondered how to do that :) Jacket looks much nicer too!
Aw.. thank you! 💗 I totally agree - let me know if you update anything of your own 😊

Sarah A sounds like you have a similar plan to me with my jacket! 🥰 Glad to hear you found it helpful!

Gonna try. Thank u
Thanks for the video, can I use my old buttons if they are in good condition or do I need to use new ones?
I think you can as long as they are in good condition! But I need to test this out soon - you are not the only one that has asked this 😊
Where did you purchase the buttons? I'm trying to find some but the Michaels online store doesn't have any selection... (looking in the Toronto area)

Cool vid! Your accent has me so intrigued.. do you mind me asking what the mix is? 😬🙈
Haha... I do not really know anymore 🙈 I lived in many different places and picked up accents along the way.
Thank you very much I shall have a go😊
And I've been looking all over for silver buttons! :p
which is why I am watching; want to replace bronze ones.
Haha.. it seems like it depends so much on your local store’s selection! Good luck replacing your buttons! 😊
Can you put a link to the music you used in this video?? Thx!
Absolutely! I got all the music from Epidemic Sound and the titles of the songs are as follows: Open All Night by Frook, Sunset Drive by Future Joust & my intro song is Boom Bap Jazz by Amber Spill.
Thank you for the video! What size is the button i mean 20mm? Regards!
The ones I used where 17 mm I think. I think many of them are just under 20 mm. 😊
so im trying to put a button that fell out in the wash back in, do i need to sew or can i just hammer it back in?
It depend on how big the hole is, as you can see in the video some I just did put back in and others I stitched to make sure the new buttons were securely attached. It’s up to you! Good luck! 😊
Do you always have to fill the holes or is it just when they are too big? I can't sew.
Only when they are too big. Just make sure to remove the buttons carefully so they do not get too big!
Once a button is removed, can it be used on another pair of jeans?
Good question! I think it can as long as it was removed as intact as possible.
@@missmatti thank you. I will give this a try. If mangle the bottom portion of the button, can I use the bottom portion of a new bottom of the same size?
@@angelahughes828 Yes I think so! Report back to me if it worked up! 😊
@@missmatti I will let you know. And thank you for making this "how to" video!
Thanks it works awesome
Glad to hear! 👏🏼
We're can i buy those stainless steel knobs at ??
Which stainless steels knobs are you thinking of? My old buttons or something else?
"I didn't have the proper tool, so I fucked up my husbands tools instead."
FYI I didn't "f**k up" any tools, and the tools are not only my husband's tools but mine as well. 😝
@@missmatti Do the wire cutters still cut wire? Cause if I used my wire cutters for this, they'd no longer cut wire.
Thank you for the vidio...
You are welcome 😊🙏💜
Thank you
😄❤️
Button hole become too big and falling down how to fix it 😢
I would create a patch either around the button hole to strengthen it and make it smaller, or alternatively over it and then stitch a new button hole.
I have not even got through one minute through the video and I broke my jeans and I am already gathering my stuff I need
edit then I relise we are removing them
Well done! 👏🏼 I’m so proud over you! 🤩
Can I remove the button and reuse them else where ?
Good question! I have answered others here in the comments asking the same thing and my theory is that you can as long as you do not damage it. But I need to test it out to make sure! 😊
Thankssss!!!!
The music reminds me of the 80s
I think that might have been the vibe I wanted to go for when editing 😅💖
Can you reuse the removed button on a new denim?
You are not the first person to ask so I think I need to try it out! My theory is that you can if you remove them very carefully.
It doesn't work. And you can gauge your hand very easily if that screw driver slips. 😒 I could not get that stud out
I’m sorry to hear. Do you have any pliers to clip it away? I found I had to remove some denim buttons that way.
@@missmatti I have wire cutters..I'll try that. Thanks for your help 👍
@@lesley523 yes I meant wire cutters 😝 Good luck!
Lol you're cute with that hammer...
Haha.. 😂 😜
@@missmatti where are you from?
