Absolutely. I find it easier if you don't have the tension super-tight, that way the eyelets are easier to form. Just have a play - much will depend on the fabric you are using as to how tight you stretch.
Thank you for sharing this lace technique, but would have been better if the thread you used was not the same as the background cloth only for purposes of the video. And a close up view of the sewing itself would be appreciated, many times the hand gets in the camera’s vision…aa
Thank you! Yes, using different thread would have been good - it's always a dilemma when trying to show something traditional. It's very difficult to make pretty eyelet lace with a contrasting colour, as every stitch stands out, I guess that's why it traditionally matches.
Nice content 👌 and I have subscribed
Hello mam your new follower
Yay!
Love it! Could I use an embroidery hoop?

Thank you for sharing this technique! What type of stick do we use? Can we use a knitting needle? Satay stick? Thank you.
A knitting needle is great, especially the smaller ones. Basically, the stick needs to be smooth. x

How do you handle the edges?
The scallop edge is covered in the stitches, then the fabric cut away. You need to keep the stitches close, and the fabric will remain strong.
Ong-gleiz😉
My odd accent will always cause me issues! :)
