The best...once in a generation musician. He really gets what music is for, it's alive, not trapped in an institution's confines, or in old recordings from the 20th century.

Gerald is an awesome live player but there is plenty of incredible live players out there...This is so subjective to say gerald is the best...it's a non-sens or it's only your opinion and your taste.

Gerald may be one of the best with this Contemporary, Fusion Style - definitely yes. So also are Mike Phillips and Warren Hill. Check out his Straight Ahead, Organic Jazz interpretation of John Coltrane's "Impressions", at the Blue Note, West Coast - Gerald Albright's. Gerald Albright's Jazz Ballads are also authentic and organic: "My One And Only Love", " 'Round Midnight", for example. In his company as he "funks" and "Fuses" musically is Alex Han - not Alex Hahn, an authentic Jazzician. Everett Harp, Marc Russo, Chris Hunter, Nathan Childes, and Eric Darius can also be heard playing this Contemporary, Fusion style very effectively. Thumbs 👍
