The story of Fatal Fury takes place between the years 1992 (Fatal Fury: King of Fighters) to 2006 (Garou: Mark of the Wolves). Art of Fighting, a prequel series to Fatal Fury, took place between the years of 1978 to 1981. The main villain in Fatal Fury, Geese Howard, was the *secret true boss of Art of Fighting 2, who you could only face if you never lost a round leading up to the game's boss, Mr. Big, who actually worked for Geese. Around 1982, Geese defeated Terry and Andy's father, Jeff Bogard, who they both trained under Tung Fu Rue. Terry and Andy, who were around 11 and 10 yrs old at the time, sought guidance and revenge through training under Tung Fu Rue and Jubei Yamada who trained them. 10 years passed to the year 1992. Geese was defeated in the first Fatal Fury game being punched off a building by Terry and presumed dead 3 days later in a hospital, however, later on we learned that he survived (albeit with a huge chest scar) but went into hiding presumably to heal. This took place in 1992. In 1993, Fatal Fury 2 happened and Wolfgang Krauser was the main villain in that one. Geese came back in Fatal Fury 3, only to be defeated again but escaped right before Terry and friends faced off against the main bosses of that game: the Jin brothers. Then Geese came back in Real Bout Fatal Fury (essentially: "Fatal Fury 4") where he finally died at the hands of Terry Bogard, falling to his death off his own building. At that point, Terry adopted Geese's 6 yr old son, Rock and after the events of Real Bout Fatal Fury 2, there was an 8 year time skip, and Fatal Fury (Garou) Mark of the Wolves, which was the final Fatal Fury game, took place in the year 2006, where Rock was now 17 yrs old and Terry was 35 yrs old. Fatal Fury: King of Fighters was created by Nishamura, who created the first Street Fighter game over at Capcom in 1987. Moving to SNK, he made Fatal Fury, Art of Fighting, and the King of Fighters series. All three of these games pioneered different mechanics (even before Street Fighter did, which itself introduced the combo system and juggling) that would go onto being staples in fighting games such as zoom scrolling and dashes, super moves, guest characters, 1p & 2P co-op vs com, dream matches and crossover themes. Fatal Fury came out the same year Street Fighter II did, just a few months after it, so both games were in development at the same time (effectively nullifying any beliefs that Fatal Fury was a SF II clone). The King of Fighters was a non canonical spin off of Fatal Fury, mixing together characters from its prequel: Art of Fighting (Ryo, Yuri, Robert, Takuma), along with Ralph, Clark and Heidern of Ikari Warriors, and Athena, Sie from Psycho Soldier, along with some new original character introduced for the game. Simplemente KoF ofrece más y mejor, una lástima sin duda.
