I have been more cynical about the anti racism movement in thr last 10 years . Creating a group of people who are so disenfranchised that cannot flourish in society. Thanks for not only exposing this but giving a solution!

26:32 I think this is an excellent point. The idea that one has control over their status as a victim in regards to forgiveness and how we choose to perceive the world (i.e. self accountability/ internal locus) should feel empowering. However, in modern American society, we have individuals who want the moral superiority of claiming victimhood (what we seen called attention-seeking though it is also an external locus thought process that allows someone to shed responsibility for their own actions) who also want the same power status of an oppressor. This has manifested into entitlement, selfishness, violence, and mob-mentality. Political slants that encourage divide make the nation easier to conquer and it's done so under the guise of a moral crusade. Today, someone will harm another person claiming it's justice without realizing the irony that they, who claim victimhood, have become the oppressor. It's not liberation. Forgiveness is the true liberation, which is what makes it a forbidden word now. Because forgiveness promotes feelings of actual empowerment and heals the soul. I believe this is also why we're seeing God taken out of conversation in America these days. We're encouraging people to see themselves as their own God and to "live their truth" rather than seek the truth and live in the Holy Spirit. We don't ask people to understand nuance or context. We don't ask people to live in harmony, that is to live with others who disagree with you but you can still live functionally in society with them. Modern America is demanding conformity and is willing to strip identities down to something easier to control. Those in power promoting this cult-like ideology don't want to promote forgiveness as that takes their power away from taking away the power of the American individual and society as a whole.

Great talk overall! I really liked what he said around 26:05 -- people these days lack that sense of responsibility for themselves, which leads to them trying to control the speech/actions of others in order to protect their own feelings.
Also I believe a big reason God told us to forgive others is not just to do good for them, but for our own sakes too. Holding grudges is unhealthy and exhausting! Unless it's expressed outwardly it doesn't even affect the other party, but either way it will drain us and steal our joy.

I believe the whole primary reason God told us to forgive IS for our own sakes. Christ already did the work of absolving sin on the cross, so it's not about us being able to do anything for them. In fact, forgiveness doesn't even require that you associate with the other person again. The problem is your life being controlled by a grudge. You ever had somebody living rent free in your head like that? Trust me, it ain't pleasant.

That was so enlightening! Of course if someone’s been traumatized by a type of person they might perceive a negative intention on interactions after that from others like them, distrust. But as with all trauma if we never address it, accept it, forgive/let go , we’ll be stuck in perceiving ourselves as victims, which is a helpless position, and never be able to heal. 👏🏻

He has shown you, O man, what is good; And what does the Lord require of you But to do justly, To love mercy, And to walk humbly with your God?

5 minutes in, and you're asking incredible, important questions. Thank you for this fantastic interview. The man you're interviewing is trying to hard to stand in the middle, but he's got some good points though.
You've shaken off the oppressiveness of leftist new marxism and critical theory. Keep it up!!
And it's a great point that forgiveness includes finding and looking for good.

Forgiveness is the only antidote for hate, and hate makes people _tired_ indeed.
This is making me wonder: if the SJWs got a taste of forgiveness, would they get hooked on it...?

Stanford Forgiveness Project? That’s an oxymoron - Stanford is the leading proponent of never forgetting and never forgiving.
