What would you like to see done to a Duo Sonic? I just got one yesterday and I'm planning to do some mods. You're absolutley right that there are very few videos out there on this subject.
I have had this exact Duo sitting for six years and I’ve been waiting to do something to it-i’m not sure what- because as you say, not many people modding them… The only thing I had in mind was putting mini humbuckers in it… But I know I’ll have to upgrade the electronics
Thank you SO much for showing it with the pickguard off, and confirming I had the right string spacing in the bridge. I just picked up one of these great guitars, and I can't help but notice the routing will take a set of p90 pickups. I hear the duo-sonic pickups are great for some things, so I'll keep them for a while, but the plan is eventually to replace them with Lollar or Mojo Gold Foil clones in the p90 size, string it up with heavy gauge to offset the slinkiness of the short scale, and make this into a dedicated slide guitar.
Fantastic job! As coincidence would have it I would like to do pretty much the same job to my duo sonic. It’s a 2018 SS seafoam green with a PF fretboard. Intonation isn’t great with the short scale and even though I have fitted 11 gauge strings, the guitar almost seems desperate to go out of tune. I would also like to upgrade the pick ups with something hotter and, definitely with a humbucker in the bridge. Judging by your accent and the reference to your friend from Sheffield, it sounds like you are based in the north-west. I am in Manchester. Is there a way we can talk about you doing some business on my guitar please? Thanks.
I have the exact same guitar and I just put black hot rails and cool rails in the neck and bridge . I kind of want black hardware after seeing this . Where did you find the bridge that fit ?
It didn't fit exactly: I had to fill the old screw holes and re-drill. The bridge was purchased from Northwest Guitars (England). The string through-body holes did line up btw. Victor...
There's not enough videos out there of people doing stuff to their Duo's, this is awesome.

Dude! Beautiful duo sonic! I did the “Cobain” mod to my hs, LOVE IT
Although it seems smaller, due to its body dimensions, it's actually the same length overall as a Strat. Only the scale length is shorter.

Great, really great. Just slow down - we really want to hear everything you say and are not all from England.
Videos are for the client and for my records. It is explained in the disclaimer...
Guy put the video on three-quarter speed, I do it all the time
Do you have wiring diagram what you did
No I don't. I do have the bridge pickup though...
