so let me jsut get this straight. the volcano just blew out the ground from under a green hill side? didnt set the grass on top on fire first just BOOm and it was there? and now its grown this huge cone? out of nowhere? Thought volcanos erupted from the crater at the top?.... like so that could have just blown up underneath someones house on the island?
Stratovolcanoes are mountains with an eruotive crater on the top. This volcano is a "Volcanic Ridge". It has dozens of craters, and an eruption can occur anywhere along it's axis. The same can happen with Hawaii's volcanoes. The 2018 eruption of Kilauea popped right up under a poor placed neighborhood.
This whole side of the island is a known hot area. But still people build there. Makes no sense.

I'm from Tenerife, the neighbor island, indeed Claudia was hanging out and drinking cold draft beers by the beach, couldnt do anything about it really
I will never understand why people build a home so close to an active volcano.smdh....
