My opinion is that Brian should return, portrayed by Cody Walker as-is (with nothing but practical touch-ups like hair/makeup to tighten the resemblance at most). CGI'ing him to look like Paul is so unnecessary. We all know Paul is gone. And no amount of CGI will truly convince us that it isn't Cody playing him. But I think most of us won't care. Paul, and his character Brian were so loved that I think we'd all gladly accept Cody stepping up for Paul again.
Exactly. Thank you. All these cry babies in the comments. Any cgi is disrespectful especially to family members that already have mourned and grieved his loss. To see him on screen like that would be weird. I’d rather just have Cody play him from here on out just to get a proper send off to the character. People forget Brian’s not dead in the movies. He never died. The end of fast 7 was a tribute but Brian’s been alive and they’ve mentioned him in most of the movies.

Having watched Fast and Furious 1 as a kid i always had the opinion that Brian was the main character of Fast and Furious, a talented outsider trying to find himself, searching for like minded people, who then slowly gains the respect of the people who will later become his family. With Fast and Furious Tokyo drift the story repeats itself, but this time Sean was the outsider trying to find himself in Japan and by the end found a family just like Brian did.
With the introduction of Fast and Furious 5 the entire franchise made a 180° u-turn. Brian was no longer the main character, action and destruction were the main focus instead of cars and car culture and physics were thrown out the window. Its no longer the franchise that shaped Brain as a character. Therefore i kind of don't want them to bring back Brian and just let his character rest in peace, because i would be p*ssed af if they ruined it. It's one of those things that's very very very hard to get right.

I know bringing him back may upset few or majority of the fans.But personally me who started watching the movies from 1st to 7th was because of brian.I hoped they continued with cgi(paul) in 8th and 9th even though I knew he won't come back since it was shown as a farewell to his character in 7th.I was so excited when I saw his car at the end of 9th. For me i want him to come at the end of 10th in a credit scene and continue in 11th.I will be sad but I think it will be epic ending when Dom sacrifices himself at the 11th and later Paul being the front of the family. So that's yeah,for me personally i want Brian to comeback.

Well said as I watched fast films for Brian, most people wouldnt watch future movies because they believe its off track without Brian. Does anyone think CGI would change this
With makeup, a 5 o'clock shadow and a similar haircut F&F should just cast Cody as Brian. The fans and audience know what happened to Paul it wouldn't be that serious to recast HIS BIOLOGICAL BROTHER as his beloved character and possibly to a SPIN OFF in the future
You are right , if they don't want bringing Cody into this then they shouldn't let Brian back at all , it's paul walker's family's decision to whether or not should Brian be back.

i thinks they really should bring back CGI paul and here is why, fast 7 was a spectaculair goodbye to Paul Walker but it is not the goodbye to the character of brian o connor. These are the last 2 movies and brian should be there, he isn't dead. The family of Paul wants it to happen, the franchise wants it, and this is a great way to finish up the saga. To be fair, they could've used this as a way to kill Brian at the beginning of the movie as the start of Dantes revenge. Then Mia taking his place going forward. Then Brian could've had a Chadwick style send off...

I vote they basically recreate the first movie and use the same ending as fast 7. Wrap up this international stuff in F10. F11 takes place back in CA, Dom is organizing a giant race wars. Some local bad guys or gang is trying to steal money or something from the event. The team tracks down who it is and stops them just before the event. Then as a final scene, Dom puts out an open challenge to race, he pulls up to the line in the challenger, and the same white Supra pulls up along side. They don’t even need to show Brian’s face. Just have the car pull up, a head on close up of Dom looking over, turn back to look ahead and a big smile on his face. Cut to a shot of the start line, the cars launch, and freeze frame on Doms challenger doing a wheelie and the Supra with bit of tire smoke. Then the screen does dark and the credits roll. End of franchise.
idris elba character in hobbs and shaw died and tech brought him back to life so i doubt anyone will truly die in these movies.but dom dying and brian taking over would be beautiful
Brian is still technically alive in the film series so if Mia was in trouble he would be there to save her but we don't actually need to see Brian as he is also represented by a car so having a r32/r34/r35 come in and get involved and save her will do the job you could do a small amount of CGI but probably not needed as fans will know who it is, its like the scene from Mandalorian when luke skywalker saves the day from the moment his star fighter turns up and then he starts using the force and fighting with a light saber you new who it was and was cool as fuck. I also think Mia should of never been involved in the action parts of the film, It makes no sense without brian who is the actual skilled fighter and driver why would he let her risk her life.

I’ve always thought that when Paul Walker passed, that the Fast and Furious franchise should have ended. Maybe they could have done spin offs for a few of the characters like Hobbs and Shaw did. The story line has already gotten too far fetched and the writers and producers are just grasping at straws at this point. Greed has taken over and they are trying to milk everything they can. The last movie I enjoyed was Tokyo Drift, every movie after that just felt like the franchise was going down hill. Street racing which the whole story was built around, was taken completely out of the equation. It basically turned into Oceans 11 except with cars. The need to stop making these movies and just let bygones be bygones.

You're only saying that it's acceptable because that's his brother but to me for his brother to play the actual. Brian O'Connor is too obvious and corny. I think that they should make it more interested by bringing him in as a brother that Brian never spoke about because their relationship was shaky but hes also. Into the fast life and they need his help to fulfill a mission. And the fact that he is actually his brother in real life. That would make it more interesting but I don't feel that he. Has the ability to Deliver the role like his brother did I'm sorry he is just not his brother and fans like me they want to see Paul Walker but unfortunately he. Is no longer with us so I don't think they should put him in place of his brother because that's his actual brother they should do a little. Twist and bring him in as his brother that is also into the life. But their relationship wasn't so great. That's why you never heard of him but WA' LA here he is. They've put themselves behind the 8 ball as it were. They've been teasing O'Conner's existence since he left. The last being the most direct with his Blue R34 rolling up. They cannot continue to do this without eventually using the character in a very poignant but also pivotal way to complete the franchise story arc.
Personally, I'm with the final method. Brian's going to come in literally out of nowhere as the clutch man needed to hold it all together. I know some are not down with bringing Brian back into the fold, but it has to happen now IMHO. They've teased it one too many times to not do it. Caleb & Cody, your time to shine!!
If the new character is going after the family It seems OBVIOUS to just have one of the big attacks be killing Brian. That would be huge for the group and add fire to the flame. I feel like it’s nonsense to keep trying to keep him out with the father role and still have Mia in.
The Good Bye at the end of 7 was so great. Just let it be or just use our attachment to the family, to Brian/Paul to fuel all of us cheering for the Revenge. 🤷🏻♀️

Simply put, I think, out of respect for the legend himself-Paul Walker, they shouldn’t bring Brian back. They’ve already said goodbye to him in fast 7, so why undermine the heart felt ending of fast 7 by bringing him back?
Don’t get me wrong, i love Brian as a character just as much as anyone else, but I don’t think he should be brought back.
Dude from the story standpoint ask yourself why would Brian not show up when his wife is being attacked that makes no sense in us out of character for Brian they have to bring him back his family wants him back
I have the fix to the somewhat rough "Brian CGI" job they did in furious 7. Deepfake his face, use Cody as the body of brian, and find someone who sound just like Paul walker for the voice over....I really do believe this formula would make the best Brian come back where you wouldn't know its not him. Deepfake is revolutionary.
It's still a shame if they wouldn't bring him back in the last movie of the franchise, since he has a big part on the movie. There can always still be a one last ride aspect in the story, yeah we gave paul and brian a farewell goodbye in the 7th film but he still should have a part in the last film at some point. It's the end of the saga so why not? even if it's just a short screen time.

I was under the impression that Vin planned for 10 movies and that this would be the last, thus no 11th film. All good things come to an end and with how ridiculous the latest movies have become, they should just end it now with dignity.

The worst thing they did was to bring back Mia Toretto in Fast & Furious 9 ! The fact that we had Mia in the movie without Brian was very weird for me. My opinion is that they should have kept Mia & Brian away from the movies or just bring them at the end when they are usually having that family BBQ.

i seriously think they should carry the story as business as usual dont change add brian to past or present but show a whole montage of the past at the end of the movie to show or pay a final tribute like they did in seven as when they said that was the tribute to paul, i say this as they should do the stunts show the family as it was growing up i am guessing thats the way they want to remember paul as if he was always there with the races etc
I am sure many agree that homage needs to be paid to Paul Walker for his contribution to the series. The best way to do it is not up to us but to the studio and production. Hopefully they will do it in a tasteful way to not detract from Paul Walker's contribution to the previous movies in the series. I like how they have developed the characters and back stories for the Fast characters but honestly I miss how simple and gritty the stories were in the first two films. Even the third film as well but I know that is a sensitive area for most. It is nice that they have all these grand car scenes and fights with a lot of help from CGI. But I miss a lot of the practical effects and how the music that was used tied into the first 3 movies. They seem more fun and free spirited than all that came after.

Well Dom cant die...just because it would not fit this weird world they are living in, he has survived more than enough, not even an elite soldier, barely a superhero from the Marvel Universe could handle...so it wouldnt be realistic at all.

I think the franchise should end with Dom and Brian's kids race with the entire crew aged up in old makeup or cgi, Brain as a character would live on with his legacy of his son but we wouldn't need him to come back before then. Then the next generation would take over in the future. there's only one more movie after this so it would be nice to see where every landed

They did that in Fast and Furious 7. Had a lovely tribute and a great way of saying goodbye to Paul. But greed wouldn’t let them stop. They just had to keep Vin Diesel and the other cast members employed by making the same movie over and over again. None of these original cast members can get work anywhere else. They try to bring in big names to save the movie and still fail. Things should have ended with Part 7 and been done. Kind of like The Sopranos, just keep us thinking about what may or may not have happened when the screen went black.

So if 10 and 11 are actually good (I'd settle for coherent) then they should bring Walker's character back. The whole 'Mia is risking her life while she has kids but Brian can't' is stupid as f! Alright for all the comments that are here, read this one. So we all know we should let paul and the character Brian rest. But we know, obviously the director for fast x has said he is going to be shown in flashbacks. So that’s a great way of knowing that he is still alive after fast 7 in the franchise. But here another theory or maybe a coincidence. The previous fast and furious movie, in the 9th one we see Brian pulls up in R34 Skyline in the end and then boom movies over. Now in the 10th one we are going to see him in flash backs. There is a sign that Paul coming back & Brian o Connor. Yes we all get that they are still showing us that Brian is still alive in the franchise but he is coming back. How!!?? Well why would the director bring up the r-34 in the end of 9? Why would they show flash back in the 10th ? And Fast X is going to be a cliffhanger. What if in this video, they predict the most logical outcome of the movie. * dom needs help. He has no other ideas to come in mind to the family. Then boom, Brian pushes up in the R-34 or R-35 and helps dom once again. Then a cliffhanger* *GOING TO FAST 11 (2ND PART) * Maybe this video might predict the MOST LOGICAL THING FOR FAST X. And maybe this is a theory or a prediction

Man.. they have to age paul walker now too when they do bring him. I do wish fastX had at least one scene for even a few seconds with him. And then i find out the stewardess on the plane is paul walkers daughter...so damn wild. Cant believe they did that and we didnt know. They should just introduce her as an actual cast member. Without watching the video… super torn on my thoughts of bringing back CGI Paul Walker.
On one hand, story-wise, it has made little to no sense whatsoever that he hasn’t been in the franchise in 8 and 9. I know they give the dad life reason. But Mia is still involved. That wouldn’t fly with Brian, and he’s the second best driver they’ve got in the family. Especially if his friends / wife and kids were in danger.
On the other hand - I get why he hasn’t been there. Ethically, is it right to bring back the likeness of a person, and character they portrayed, posthumously? How will that affect the real family dealing with their loved one’s death?
I think they should bring Brian back.
It would give Cody Walker a job and support their family financially.
It’d make sense in the story, for the fans.

I absolutely love Paul in the series. Here's my issue though. The last 3-4 installments have been sub par. If they were better, I would have more faith they could do better with him. But unfortunately fast 9 put a very sour taste in my mouth.
