  • "Jiangjun Ling"《将军令》(General's Command), performed by the Suzhou Gusu Immortals Ensemble (Suzhou Gusu Xian Yuetuan, 苏州姑苏仙乐团), which was established in the late 1980s and comprises musicians from various Daoist temples in the area of Suzhou (苏州市), southeastern Jiangsu province (江苏省), east-central China, including Xuanmiao Temple (玄妙观). This genre, comprising loud wind and percussion instruments, is often referred to as Sunan chuida (苏南吹打, wind and percussion music of southern Jiangsu province).
    This performance probably took place in Suzhou (苏州市), southeastern Jiangsu province (江苏省), east-central China, c. December 14, 2016.
    In 2006 Suzhou Xuanmiao Temple Daoist Music (苏州玄妙观道教音乐) was included in the First Batch of China's National-Level Intangible Cultural Heritage List (第一批国家级非物质文化遗产名录) by China's Ministry of Culture (中华人民共和国文化部, known since March 2018 as the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, 中华人民共和国文化和旅游部). The sub-agencies responsible for maintaining these lists, both under the aegis of the aforementioned ministry, are the Department of Intangible Cultural Heritage (文化部非物质文化遗产司) and the China Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Center (中国非物质文化遗产保护中心, CICHPC).
