Hey Great Tips !!! & I have a very Important, On The Road Type Of Question!!!!
I have changed my 14xt' many times in my smaller Peavey Cab's,
But now need to replace my 22xt's in my SP2x's!!
My Right side got hit bad from Feedback from an AKG there a week ago & I wasn't quick enough to get it shut off or turned down cause I was in the washroom (We were just having a drunken jam lol)..
So far I have been running these for 12 years from new & haven't had any issues with them when doing Live Sound!!
    Good Speaker!!!
    What I was wondering though,
If I was doing a show & had now replacements with me is there an easy way to jimmy it to get me through the night?
Like from the looks of it (is it conductive around the membrane edge?)!!
So could I solder a few spots and get on with the show?
I haven't opened mine up yet just waiting on the Replacements!!!
I know with my 14xt's, I can just clean up the burn't spot on the voice coil then solder it back together & borrow some chicks clear "nail polish"... (If I have no crazy glue or similar stuff with me !!) & Do a fairly quick fix if time permits me lol !!!
PS... Where would you recommend buying these types of replacements for price & quality 4 someone living in Canada?
    Thanks 4 your video!!!
You just gained another sub bud !!!
    ROCK ON !!!
    From Canada!!

Do you have a multimeter to test the diaphragm by itself? Sometimes, the diaphragm will look fine, but will have an "open" voice coil and will need to be replaced.

Currently replasing mine, once i cleaned out one of the diphrams and it started working agian. I did notice the headface had popped out so then tried it upside down and worked. What glue should I use it is a plastic one that looks like a cut onion. I cleaned

sorry to continue, I cleaned out the ferrofluid also, should I be replacing that? Thanks great video.
Also the centre plastic had dried glue on the sides which was obstructing sound, cleaned them off with sharpie. I would say it be better sound rather than like having wax in your ear.

Thank you for posting this! I've got a pair of ul-15's by peavey, in one of them the black widow has blown, so i'm ok fixing that, i've done it before. But in the other, the tweeter horn seems to come on when it wants to, which is a nightmare for the sound quality. Would it be the same as in this video, when it comes to fixing a ul-15 tweeter horn part? I should imagine it would be, but just thought id check first :)

Its cool, I have a cool assortment of different screws that work. Do you all have a crossover for a Peavey 215 4ohm tower? I saw the ones you carry. Will they work?

Yes, we have run into this on a few of these models as well.

Correct! Replace the diaphragm when the horn stops working for the JBL 2416 (D8R2416-1) or (D-2416)

Great video. My thing is that I have an SP5g and the compression driver looks identical to the ones you've showed in this video. I'm guessing that the one I have is probably the original, but it sounds like crap. I mean the compression driver sounds really low. I have to boost all my highs in order to get a nice sound. Do I need to replace the driver? and would the rx22 diaphragm work with the magnet I have or would I have to purchase the entire driver? Thanks.

How can i check if my problem is the diaphragm or the compression driver? The diaphragm look's Ok.

Please check the model number on the horn to make sure it says 22A or 22XT on the unit. Sean

Your best bet is the factory network. Try Peavey?

Original Peavey screws won't work with new PY -220 diaphragm body. Need to get ones 1/8" longer and will work fine.
