- In this video, I chase around my roadie friends. Let's see if I can keep up with my cross bike.

Great video, thanks for sharing. I recently purchased my Scott Speedster Gravel 40, aluminum frame. 45mm tires. Huge speed contrast with my 2012 Specialized Allez comp (also aluminum). I love the fact that I can virtually ride it everywhere! I will do some group road rides in the spring/summer months next year for sure though. Lol, I have not been on my specialized in months, maybe today after work if it isn't too cold, Minnesota winters are brutal for cyclist, but we manage. BTW, the gearing on my Speedster is amazing for those steep roadways.
Thanks for sharing! I can't imagine cycling during winter there. I tried in California and that was too cold for me already
The single track.... ♥️♥️♥️
Yup! I want to go back with my offroad bike
It’s definitely possible to keep up with the roadies on a CX bike. The biggest limiting factor is likely the riding position compared to an aero road bike. Spend some time on the hills and work that engine. The gearing is much better suited for climbing and riding position doesn’t matter as much in those situations.
Still at it! Thanks for the tips
You use dashware pala, how do you convert your.fit file to get HR and power Kaya?
hey man! I just got the file from strava. You can download it directly from there.
ah yes!!! thats a great idea! thanks!@@carlovillarica
My minivelo can't hehe, but I enjoy every bit riding on it.
Enjoyment is the most important
i think seans rhythm was disrupted by that motorcycle. thats why hes mad. ahaha
hahaha
Why not get a second wheelset deep rims with slick tires.
That's the plan! If only money grew on trees hahah
Time to get a roadbike 😂
hahah I'm thinking of getting a new wheelset if ever. I love cycling offroad too much to put my money on a pure road bike
Yes you can keep up with the roadies, until they sprint off to the next universe. Your gear ratio and rolling resistance on smooth pavement, probably working against you. But hey, bring them to single track and let them dodge trees that will even the odds😁
hahaha Basically sums up the whole video
@@carlovillarica i guess youre into rally cars than drag racing. I think youre plenty strong, have you entertained the idea of running a 50t big ring?
depende sa lakas, wala sa bike yan sir
assuming close enough numbers sa power output between cyclists (say, +- 20W), papasok na sa equation yung bike. rolling resistance and position sa bike (and to some extent, aerodynamics din ng bike as a whole)
Disagree. Both road and cx bike putting 200 watts. The road bike will go faster. The cx has to put more than 200w to keep up with roadie at 200w
The cx biker can shorten the gap by changing wheelset from knobby offroad tires to narrower slick tires, etc but cx bikes are just meant for a different and very specific purpose
ya if the differences between cyclists are small, then the bike will start to matter. But since I'm not racing the tour de france, I will most likely always have a slower bike on the road. I love cycling offroad too much for me to be a pure roadie
