I also ran into standing water inside my passenger floorboard this past week. Looked under the rain tray to see a slow drip about every 3 seconds initially. Ran some left over rubber hose from a boost gauge install down the front drains followed by some weed eater line, and a squeeze bottle full of warm water. Was able to clear the obstruction and had a fast drain under the rain tray Hopefully that fixes it. Keep up the great content Charles!
My VW CC has this problem! I replaced the throttle body thinking it would fix it but it still pops up even when the car is in idle. So I’m guessing it has to be the wiring?
Is the harness fairly easy to replace on a ccta? Repinned the tb harness twice and now am thinking those thin wires are brittle and shorted or corroded somewhere behind where the splice points are. Any special procedures or tools to take the entire harness out? Or rather- can it be done without removing manifold ?
I had a similar issue with my MKIV GTI 1.8t. I replaced the throttle body and the pedal module. The problem went away EXCEPT when the engine bogs. When I am doing slow maneuvers like parking and I slip the clutch a little too much and the engine revs down below idle, 90% of the time the EPC light comes on. Restarting it clears it(and limp mode) but that is the only time it occurs. I still haven't been able to pin down why, but I will check out the connectors to see if the pins are damaged in some way and check their voltage readings.

I have a Skoda superb 1.8T with the same check engine and ESP light and vcds take me to intake mainfold. I’ve been recently to the Skoda car garaje and they changed some pins to her so the question îs that it can be the same problem like the throttle body, i meen the pins? Quick question if I may Charles, I don't have a VCDS but just a regular OBD2 scanner with live data, so I have an Audi A3 2015 Quattro with intermittent codes: P0221 and P0121, no throttle, EPC, ESC, CEL, shutting off and restarting the engine fixes the issue temporarily, so when the problem occurs I shut it down, with ignition on, I scan with live data to look at my TP option and when pressing on the gas pedal slowly to the floor, it climbs up to about 88%, so do you think that is an accurate test to dismiss the throttle body issue and wiring? I will re-pin like you explain in your video but just wanted your opinion on that. Thanks a lot, John

hi there. sorry I'm stuck in the rain and that light came up that you're talking about. earlier but I was leaving the house about 20 minutes ago I saw I see I have an ESP off button by my stick shift and before I saw that it was lit and I've never seen it lit before.. I pressed the button, the light went off and I went upon my way . that as I was having in a bad storm and turned into my location that light came on the dashboard. did I hit the ESP off button when it should be on? Those sunroof drains.......ive done multiple drain replacements especially on tiguan, it was so bad that vw told us to just toss the old carpet away instead of returing it because they were getting SOOO MANY.
#1 I’m from Helen Georgia. Two how to you re-pin the wiring harness? I’m not electronically inclined. Never was trained on it. Hey Charles, I have a 2014 Jetta TDI, I noticed the steering wheel is on and angled plane to the seat/dash. You can put a whole finger in the space between the dash and column on the left side and not even a finger tip on the other side. What's with that? Have you ever seen this. Hi, sorry this is Chinese to me. Girl here, trying to figure it out. VW 2013 CC that’s been sputtering since a oil change. Now PCE light came on and check engine blinked but acceleration was bad actually RPM’s went up to 4 and dropped drastically going 20mph. Heard the engine rev. Turned it off and on again, no lights, but RPM’s still jumped around from a stop to going. Made it home but just looking for answers before getting screwed taking it in to a mechanic tomorrow. Okay so I have an 08 bmw 335i and am getting the same code. I thought it was the coil not seated all the way but when I do a throttle adaptation reset it temporarily goes away. Any help? I’m lost

What about mk4 r32 ,my car was lifted on stands in back and I left it like that for one weak ,after I put car down when I start car light when on traction control, I try to press esp button but it don't work, am not sure how this happened I did not disconnect anything and I did not press ecs button?

Hey Charles, I had ESP in my EA211 polo, it says boost leak. I can’t figure out where the boost leak is coming from!!! It makes a squeaking noise past 4,000rpm, then goes into limp. The car has a retune, so runs more boost. Any help is appreciated!!!!!!

I had my tpms, esp, check engine, and parking brake light all come on at the same time after I installed my cts turbo intake kit. The mass airflow sensor got unplugged and now the lights haven't gone off yet.

Hey i have a 2003 vw jetta and ive been overboosting. I replqced the maf, all vacume lines, boost controll valve, and turbo actuator. I cleaned the turbo vanes using the oven cleaner method and im still getting the overboost. My tune is for 18 lbs of boost and it skyrockets and pegs my boost guage at 35 lbs. Any auggestions ? Manual transmition with alh engine.
The first thing this fellow did wrong was, after reading the code, firing the parts cannon rather than looking up the diag procedure for the code. (One might argue the actual first fault is the blue oval but let's not go there.) Any code, especially these days, is a 'follow this procedure first' code. Looking up the code may hint at a TSB, but Id focus on the code more than TSBs as Ive been burnt by 'chasing TSBs' far more often than ive been burnt 'chasing code procedures'. But then Mopar loves to throw the weirdest of crap at both owners and wrench yankers.
i’m having p0089 code. I have replaced both fuel pumps, follower, and the fuel filter. Having a problem starting when cold, franks about 3-4 times then fires up. when it’s warm it starts immediately. any feedback would help :)
Speaking of strange issues, I have a 2003 Jetta TDI wagon that was 5-speed swapped (01M --> 02J). The reverse lights used to work but don't any more. The reverse switch itself is good and S7 fuse is good. The connector doesn't seem have a good seal around the switch. When I put it in reverse with KOEO, the voltage in pin 1 is like .9 volts. It's so low I don't know if I'm testing it correctly. Any help, my fellow Humblies? :) Thanks!

My 2010 gti was running perfectly, this morning i change my boost gauge and when i make a test drive to see if the gauge was reading well my car start like to misfire and dont make the idlle rpm so it shutdown , i search my vacuum lines from the turbo to the gauge and cant find nothing wrong
Hi good afternoon. I have a 2009 Tiguan. The check engine light came on and on the display the message 'engine fault workshop ' came up and an illuminated EPC light. This happened for two/three days and now it won't accelerate above 30, idle really hard and it even cuts off now. Carried it to be scanned, they made me change the fuel pressure sensor, oxygen sensor, coil pack, plugs all sorts of things and guess what, it's still giving the same problem. I'm feeling hopeless, any assistant you may be able to render, or advise would be greatly appreciated.
If you quickly upshift to 4th you can cruise at 65. Not the safest thing as you don’t get that acceleration if you need it but it will get you home fast. By the way, I have the same issue and will be repinning TB as prescribed.
I’m getting a p0016. Recently had the timing chain and tensioner replaced ~50 miles ago along with the guided. With the vcds I read cam sensor and jumps up and down and I get a diesel sound from 800-1600rpm from the engine and it hesitates. Normal acceleration. After that it runs smooth. And strong. I’m thinking something related to oil pressure or vvt solenoid or even a intake camshaft actuator. It’s a 2014 GLI. Any input would be very appreciated
It turns out it was as the n205 valve. VW list the wrong one by VIN. The one from the golf work fine. It ends with an F not a B. The B had smaller treads. Dealer ship was not helpful at all even after brought the old part with me. My guess is that after the engine got up to temp. The spring inside the valve did not have enough pressure to stay closed. In the vag com I could see the requested vs actual cam adjustments. While the ecru was requesting 0 it would jump quite high just by a small press in the gas.
I brought a 2005 VW Passat. The guy I got the car from said it had B5.5 motor and it has been deleted. Well about a week after I had the car, I was on my way home and driving up interstate my car when into limp mode! I changed out the fuel filter, air filter and the mass up sensor also! On very cold morning's, it runs great for about 7-10 miles and than it goes into limp mode! I love the car but it's driving me crazy because every little hill I come to, I have to get in the right lane because I have NO POWER. Please help! Thanks....
Yes Sir but it didn't help. But when I check the codes, it showed P0101, P0299, P0401 and also when it goes into limp mode and I can drive it and than park it and 5-10 mins later it runs good for a mile or so and BAM LIMP MODE AGAIN!
Had p0221 and p0121 codes, check engine light + epc and limp mode would happen very randomly and rarely, replaced throttle body and it worked for about 1500 miles, then same shit happened again. any ideas? car would stall when it happened. 2010 gti
Sir you just gave to much information with out doing all this on one car and people be able to see and learn that way. Is like some one has back pain and go to physical therapy and therapist with out doing nothing keep saying to patient do this and than do that you going to feel better

Everyone Is Equal Po420 is for catalytic converters. If previous owner removed the cat and installed a test pipe (cat delete) you would have that code. How ever if you have a o2 spacer for second o2 you won’t get CEL. But you are gonna fail emissions. Look if you have cat. Cause if you not you need one to pass. I think High flow cat should work too!!

You mentioned the TSB for repinning the throttle body. Where can one get what's needed to do that? Not sure where to go from here.

5:57 Hey Charles get some Adam’s glass sealant for the windshield it helps when it rains. The water would bead right off and it helps with water spots

Make sure your dipstick is all the way down and oil cap is on properly. That happens when a dipstick isn’t sealed

@@adamfolwer5237 Did you manage to fix this problem by repinning the throttle body? I have a Scirocco 2009 2.0L TSI aswell and have the same problem.
@@dannyrattu51 it turned out not to be the wiring harness on my car. It was the throttle body.
@@adamfolwer5237 Thanks for the reply bud. Iv changed the TB and the ECP light still pops on when I push the peddle down quick. I'm guessing that it may be the signal wire playing up.

I had my tpms, esp, check engine, and parking brake light all come on at the same time after I installed my cts turbo intake kit. The mass airflow sensor got unplugged and now the lights haven't gone off yet.
You will need to change your ignition starter switch
Might need to clear those codes out.

@Kris Nicholson i am going back to jetta mk3 vr6. currently on passat b5 2004. getting very disappointed. ultimately i will have a jetta 93-94 passat 2004 and for a normal worry free daily honda fit. the modern vw are just a disaster. audis i dont even want to talk about. the last audi i had was 1981 80 coupe. after that all audis seem crap.

Replaced throttle body throttle pedal cam sensor and ECU was all good after the ECU then few weeks later it’s come back 😫😫
I had the same issue turned out being the harness at the ecm had a bit of corrosion
Hey i have a 2003 vw jetta and ive been overboosting. I replqced the maf, all vacume lines, boost controll valve, and turbo actuator. I cleaned the turbo vanes using the oven cleaner method and im still getting the overboost. My tune is for 18 lbs of boost and it skyrockets and pegs my boost guage at 35 lbs. Any auggestions ? Manual transmition with alh engine.

The first thing this fellow did wrong was, after reading the code, firing the parts cannon rather than looking up the diag procedure for the code. (One might argue the actual first fault is the blue oval but let's not go there.) Any code, especially these days, is a 'follow this procedure first' code. Looking up the code may hint at a TSB, but Id focus on the code more than TSBs as Ive been burnt by 'chasing TSBs' far more often than ive been burnt 'chasing code procedures'. But then Mopar loves to throw the weirdest of crap at both owners and wrench yankers.
i’m having p0089 code. I have replaced both fuel pumps, follower, and the fuel filter. Having a problem starting when cold, franks about 3-4 times then fires up. when it’s warm it starts immediately. any feedback would help :)
perhaps an issue with the fuel pump module?
Speaking of strange issues, I have a 2003 Jetta TDI wagon that was 5-speed swapped (01M --> 02J). The reverse lights used to work but don't any more. The reverse switch itself is good and S7 fuse is good. The connector doesn't seem have a good seal around the switch. When I put it in reverse with KOEO, the voltage in pin 1 is like .9 volts. It's so low I don't know if I'm testing it correctly. Any help, my fellow Humblies? :)

You can try and run a dirty overlay just to confirm it’s a wiring issue. Things like this can be traced and repaired or simply over lay the wiring. .

Pardon my noob question but what's a dirty overlay? Does that mean like, running a wire from a known good source to the connector?

My 2010 gti was running perfectly, this morning i change my boost gauge and when i make a test drive to see if the gauge was reading well my car start like to misfire and dont make the idlle rpm so it shutdown , i search my vacuum lines from the turbo to the gauge and cant find nothing wrong
Hi good afternoon. I have a 2009 Tiguan. The check engine light came on and on the display the message 'engine fault workshop ' came up and an illuminated EPC light. This happened for two/three days and now it won't accelerate above 30, idle really hard and it even cuts off now. Carried it to be scanned, they made me change the fuel pressure sensor, oxygen sensor, coil pack, plugs all sorts of things and guess what, it's still giving the same problem. I'm feeling hopeless, any assistant you may be able to render, or advise would be greatly appreciated.
If you quickly upshift to 4th you can cruise at 65. Not the safest thing as you don’t get that acceleration if you need it but it will get you home fast. By the way, I have the same issue and will be repinning TB as prescribed.
I’m getting a p0016. Recently had the timing chain and tensioner replaced ~50 miles ago along with the guided. With the vcds I read cam sensor and jumps up and down and I get a diesel sound from 800-1600rpm from the engine and it hesitates. Normal acceleration. After that it runs smooth. And strong. I’m thinking something related to oil pressure or vvt solenoid or even a intake camshaft actuator. It’s a 2014 GLI. Any input would be very appreciated

It turns out it was as the n205 valve. VW list the wrong one by VIN. The one from the golf work fine. It ends with an F not a B. The B had smaller treads. Dealer ship was not helpful at all even after brought the old part with me. My guess is that after the engine got up to temp. The spring inside the valve did not have enough pressure to stay closed. In the vag com I could see the requested vs actual cam adjustments. While the ecru was requesting 0 it would jump quite high just by a small press in the gas.

I brought a 2005 VW Passat. The guy I got the car from said it had B5.5 motor and it has been deleted. Well about a week after I had the car, I was on my way home and driving up interstate my car when into limp mode! I changed out the fuel filter, air filter and the mass up sensor also! On very cold morning's, it runs great for about 7-10 miles and than it goes into limp mode! I love the car but it's driving me crazy because every little hill I come to, I have to get in the right lane because I have NO POWER. Please help! Thanks....
So many things can cause that. Have you checked for stored codes?
Yes Sir but it didn't help. But when I check the codes, it showed P0101, P0299, P0401 and also when it goes into limp mode and I can drive it and than park it and 5-10 mins later it runs good for a mile or so and BAM LIMP MODE AGAIN!

Had p0221 and p0121 codes, check engine light + epc and limp mode would happen very randomly and rarely, replaced throttle body and it worked for about 1500 miles, then same shit happened again. any ideas? car would stall when it happened. 2010 gti

prelman still have the problem. Throttle body replaced twice, my next guess is to repin throttle body... happens about once every 100 miles or so

@@wafi3187 honestly I have no idea what the guy had done to the car because I bought it off someone who bought it off someone who had to work done spacer wear I'm all new to this I know basics on cars but turbos are all new to me it seems like the guy had all this good stuff put on so he didn't cheap out on anything but I'm not exactly sure spacer?

Po420 is for catalytic converters. If previous owner removed the cat and installed a test pipe (cat delete) you would have that code. How ever if you have a o2 spacer for second o2 you won’t get CEL. But you are gonna fail emissions.
Look if you have cat. Cause if you not you need one to pass. I think High flow cat should work too!!
