When you finished, put a bit of water in your bowl, then swirl that into the food processor then whizz it. That way you get all the residual bits. Use that water in your gravy/stocks etc!!!!!
Lol...Que you got me rolling 🤣 its not pluged in duh too funny. Yes that's a beautiful onion power right there 👏🏽 I've been busy crocheting because it's been raining here everyday too and more on today. I got a little dehydrator and it works great but like you said eventually I need to get a bigger one, too. Tfs 😊❤
I am about to dehydrate the patty pan squash on today after learning that squash powder is a good soup thickening agent 😊. I am going to use my powder to add to cornbread mixture as an experiment 🧪 lol.
@@DiannasHomesteadI’m at a standstill. I just pulled up another video and learned that I need to get oxygen absorbers before storing. Yes pull up dehydrating patty pans and a zillion videos will come up.

I'm unable to see what your making, because all I saw was your upper body. Please re-do how to make onion powder video over, because I would love to make my own. Can you also show us (viewers) how to make different type of spices? ❤
@@janicepratt1367 hey thurrr and welcome 😊. I have already made plans to re-do the video because I was a bumbling mess throughout lol. It turned out great and I truly want for others to make it. Look for that video around the 25th. I plan to do a sweet pepper spice video by next week. I am new to dehydrating herbs and making spices myself. My filming is horrible and I don’t know how to edit yet so the body shots are there. I don’t come on camera often so you won’t see too much of that. Thank you for sharing 😊.
Thumbs up, beloved. I'm trying to master garlic powder right now. Gonna move onto onions if I ever get this perfect. I have a dehydrator feature on my air fryer oven thingy...not sure if it's better to have a straight dehydrator or not, but that's what I'm using.
Howdy and welcome 😊. My cousin has one on her air fryer as well. I have never seen the feature, but I do know that onions, garlic, and peppers can take up to 24 hours to dehydrate even in the larger standard dehydrators. I have a smaller Presto and want one of the larger with temperature controls. You must get the herb dry, or it can mold once stored.
@@que-stead-que1717 Yeah, that garlic took way more than the 8 hours someone suggested in another video I watched. They take a very long time to dry out like you said. Onions are next on my agenda though. The garlic has no flavor that I can detect. I hope the onions are better. How long do you suggest I dehydrate the onions and at what temperature? And thanx again for the video, beloved.
@@Harlem-X I dehydrated my onions for 18 hours. My dehydrator doesn’t have a temperature gauge so I waited until they were flaky crisp. Believe me when I say that you will be very pleased with the onions. My powder smell and taste great 😊.
@@que-stead-que1717 I'm gonna try onions really soon. Just waiting for the right chunk of time. One thing I will say about making garlic powder....be VERY careful around that stuff, because inhaling the dust when you open the food processor is not a good idea. And you mentioned peppers...I'm trying to figure out which ones to use for paprika. Eventually I'm gonna be completely done with store bought stuff. That's the ultimate goal, right?
