Madam Meouff well, we literally created capitalism. Thus, we are our downfall. Capitalism *would* work if it was run by all very good people. Obviously that kind of expectation is impossible, but that’s not the point. The point is that society is created by people, and our flaws are what prevent us from the ultimate civilization. If it wasn’t for the people running the companies, then the issue would not exist, as well as the people running an incentivized country with an economy that is meant to harbor such corruption. It works a lot like a gun or a digital program. They are not the bar people, they don’t have sentience, it is the person behind them that manipulate their abilities to cause pain and destruction. Of course, that means we must change the rules to suit the reality, but my point is *people* are ultimately to blame. If we as a society chose to make measures to prevent this, then things would be much better, but unfortunately, we never made those choices then, and now we suffer the consequences.
Madam Meouff That’s not to say I think capitalism should stay, I agree that it’s a flawed system and should be changed. But my point is that humans made it, and we chose to ignore its issues, and now we face our consequences. Besides, if you watched their Bacteriophage video, it’s not like we can’t solve i

This should be made criminal offence internationally .

Anyway, pleasant dreams!
Considering that we pumped heavy-duty vancomycin directly into my mother's pick line while the doctor tried to pretend it wasn't the same stuff they give to cancer patients, and the infection STILL ate away most of the bone inside her leg .... ..... in 2004... and they waffled about the source/severity of said infection for a year before they bothered to listen to her and check to see if maybe she did have that fever she kept saying she had (you know, after three surgeries in a year from a car accident that broke said leg???) it is absolutely way too fuckin' late to stop either.

Who on Earth would even consider taking antibiotics on simple cold? I mean... seriously? That is the last thing body would need. Just do it old style, jump into the bed, drink some tea and sweat it out. People should not be way too depending on pills, as the saying always goes " Too much of everything makes it just worse "
Poland. Poland would consider it. They hand out antibiotics like candy.
Oh how I agree with that indeed, you see that everywhere and it really can be easy for some people to get everything that so called " Promises " to do better.
And yea, lets hope its gonna be balanced in some way, as what would be made to help could actually end up harming more than we could imagine.
"Everything in moderation." is one of my favourite sayings. It covers everything from food to medicine.
Too much of a specific food or chemical inside your body can kill you - even water. Too little of a specific substance will also end up killing you. Too much of a specific medicine will end up killing you, as will too little if you've got an illness.

"if humanity plays it's cards right"
because we've done SO well this far...
I'm willing to say we have, to survive up to this point is impressive.
+Lord Pennysworth Von Higglesby we survive thanks to two things: being lucky and getting intelligence as a weapon from evolution and not being total tards launching thousands of nukes because of seeing an asteroid. which we almoat did. so we haven't done great, evolution saved out asses mostly, and when it didn't, intelligence almost failed us
Guys, guys... is this a cards of humanity reference??? O_o
Hunting has become a hobby for humans, we can provide food for almost everyone with a small percentage of people working in jobs involving the production of food, we have developed technology to the point where we can communicate from one side of the planet to the exact opposite within seconds. We've developed medicine to the point where we have to worry that we're accelerating the evolution of bacteria to unmanageable speeds. Which says a lot about us as a species.
And you're going to be an edgelord, and say that humanity hasn't done anything well?
Then I honestly encourage you to sell all your possessions, burn the money, and find a place with as little civilization as possible, and live life how humans did before we failed to "play our cards right"... and show us how to do it properly.

Antibiotic use for minor illnesses like common colds or viral fevers are a dangerous practice. It contributes to development of drug resistance, but some doctors prescribe them because they get benefits. Our teachers in med school warned us about prescribing antibiotics for minor ailments. Also, another practice that's causing drug resistance to build is people buying meds directly from pharmacies without consulting a doctor. It's a normal thing in my town and that worries me.
Also don't use antibiotics on viruses. They are totally ineffective against viruses.
+Synthetic Spark yes, but most people won't be satisfied until they take tjem. Even doctors prescribe them because money matters. It's scary to think when the bugs become resistant to the antibiotics and an epidemic breaks out.
Im 15 and hardly ever take Antibiotics I just let my immune system work its job, then again I do have a pretty strong one.
+blackham7 Good for you! For minor illnesses, it's better to let it run its course than take loads of meds. It's better to stick to simple remedies that provide relief like hot drinks for when you have common cold (I personally like tea or soup) or soothing balm for a minor headache. If it's not resolved by such methods or gets worse, then consult a doctor.

@@4lineclear yes, sadly we in America are basically spoon fed antibiotics
@@4lineclear Doctors are slowly moving away from this, but they spent so many years teaching patients that it's fine to take antibiotics every single time you get sick that people now expect them. Some patients angrily demand them even for mild illnesses, including colds which can't be treated with antibiotics. It's not a problem exclusive to America either.
I had many sinus and ear infections as a child which I was always given antibiotics for so whenever I developed another one as an adult I'd just call my doctor to get another prescription. I thought that's what I was _supposed_ to do and they always gave them to me. Two years ago she finally told me she isn't prescribing antibiotics for sinus infections anymore unless the symptoms don't improve within a week and then she told me something which shocked me: most sinus infections are viral! The video wasnt lying when they said that most livestock used for food are kept in terrible conditions...in USA, most cows kept for beef end up rarely seeing the light of day and are fed corn, which in their bodies helps boost the growth of E.Coli immensely, so they simply spray the meat down with ammonia, and wash it off afterwards as its processed.
Firstname Lastname You are right about everything you said except the part of cows not seeing the light of day.. Cows can typically only survive 90-120 days on a diet of strictly corn.. They are raised on the pasture (grass) until they are 6 months to 1 year, then they are usually sold at auction and transferred to a corn diet.. I think you were just thinking of chickens, which IMO are treated worse than cows.. Chickens never see the light of day, the only reason is if it's dark they will only move from there water to food and there breasts will be a lot bigger.
How about lowering the demand for meat and animal products
The US does that to, at least where I live. It's just that there are a few irresponsible doctors out there, and the demand for Meat products are also not helping the situation.
Dem Nachos good. the US needs to learn. i got antibiotics for a clogged ear once. they just hand them out in the states u dont even need to be sick.
SuperBug "Made In China"
scanjett yeah ironically
AHA. AHAHA. HILARIOUS.
*get out. NOW.*
scanjett only thing in China that is sturdy
It might be super for a while but then break down quickly, just like another stuff 😂
i guess the only superbug we should worry about is the one made in Germany :p
How do supperbugs happen?
Evolution.
How do we fight it?
Developing new tools faster then evolution.
Which, is kinda our speciality.
Man you have a video on everything. I just commented on your immune system video how it would be interesting to see effects of antibiotics on immune system and I get this in recommended a day later.
This sounds a bit like Plague Inc.
i still wonder why plague inc has no phages yet
There's a kurzgesagt video about this, even if phage immunity happens, in order to become immune to a few species of phage, the bacteria has to give up antibiotic immunity. Plus, Phages evolve as well to counteract immunity
@Ironscale85 yes its much like a virus, bacteira, etc simulator
better move to greenland.

Corona:I'll take your entire stock
Coronavirus would be a fond memory if we get hit with a proper superbug and don't got bacteriophages to save our asses.
@@dnw009 yea
@@dnw009 Or we just need immune system proper and phages

THANK YO FOR THE VIDIO!
4:39 Colistin was so powerful that it cured even the sick birds in the paintings.
@Mamta Singh Lol thanks but I've just watched this video so many times that I started noticing things I normally wouldn't. This is one of my favorite videos 😊
lol
But it was not used.
@@lilysantiago679 What?
Antibiotics are expensive though, like 36 DNA points in like 3 minutes in mega brutal
Marcus Z lol Plague Inc.
Marcus Z and even if you do get it you are still venerable to bacterio-phages
As a guy who spent way too long playing Plague Inc. Fuck mega brutal
xd
hahahahaha
So true. I couldn't believe that you guys predict these things 5 years ago
I love the music in this video - a battle song
Plague Inc. is real...

Holy shit people
But thats not a game,understood?

that game helps us plan and prepare for this.
Yeah, because humanity is _so good_ at playing its cards right. =|
Do we have any good humanity survival news these days? We have climate change, anti biotics crisis, overpopulation, water crisis, limited resources, mass extinctions, Syria war, nuclear arsenals, and disease outbreaks
+dzScritches Well, let's be honest.we could've died out a few times already and yet here we are, thriving. We have had setbacks, and will have many more of them, but in the end we know how to deal with any problem that arises. That's why we're humans and not simple animals
+dzScritches so true...
+Miss Cookie Our ability to survive threats or ignore them completely is a good sign that humanity is doing pretty good at surviving.
+Ryan Lowry
And in the past? No day on which nobody in your neighborhood died, dozends of wars right in front of your door, extremly bad food and the possibility to just die from one hour to the other.
And, overpopulation is, right now, not really the case. It's more like North: FOOD! and South: We want food But we can't get any. Oh, and we fuck a lot.

But corona is a virus not a bacteria
@Mamta Singh I got the joke about 2020, haha funni virus and 2020 being bad but with the times stamp it was kinda unrelated it was talking about bacteria not virus and corona is virus
I think it was the panic for a pandemic, that he was talking about tho
@Mamta Singh Saying something completely stupid doesn't necessarily classify as a joke.

I mean for someone who doesn't understand human reproduction that sounds very accurate
my first thought was to go up to someone from another race, touch them, and immediately shapeshift to look like you're from that race as well as gaining their accent
