Bravo you! Hope it goes well. Actually my Dad had a hip replacement a few years ago, and I remember Dad doing these exercises. After his hip op, he got back to cycling again quite quickly, and can't stop him now, walking miles, even running when he feels like it and he is nearly 87 now. Anyway best wishes!
