@@angelone1839; @Affluent Imaginings ; @J. Morrison ; @Jordan Landis There are actually a few meanings that the word "ignorant" has [ignorance merely means "the state or fact of being ignorant : lack of knowledge, education, or awareness" ] that vary in whether or not it is meant as an insult. I mean to simply quote straight from Merriam-Webster www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/ignorant : "There are several meanings of ignorant, all of which are concerned with a lack of knowledge in some sense; some of these are more insulting than others, & care should be exercised before applying this word to people who you do not wish to offend. Saying “They were ignorant of most of the laws of physics” means that the people in question did not have a specific body of learning. Saying “You are an ignorant person” is possibly describing someone as primitive, crude, or uncivilized." Now, it is also true that *most* people are likely to get offended when hearing this word applied to them in some form... even when it is not done in the insulting/derogatory way. Every single person on the planet is literally ignorant about most knowledge... so being ignorant about some fact or some subject is not an insult. However, using the word to describe a person or idea in general is a pejorative [though to be fair *some* ideas/people are deserving of the characterization.]
Love this song and this band....love that acoustic sound from the guitar...songs about real life get to me...this song makes you think...thanks for that awesome reaction...
Thank you for not using the edited version! I love this song but always hated the radio edit that added goofy sound effects in place of the edited lyrics. It felt like that took away from the message in the song.
What's worse, the radio edit actually makes the song much worse than it really is. When you butcher the message that much, then what's the point of even playing it on the radio. Everlast was the best white rapper in the world before Eminem. The Everlast/Eminem diss tracks were vicious. His group mirrored Cypress Hill in many fashions. It shows the musical talent that he is with the evolution of his music from hip hop to blues and rock.
I think it's so great that this channel & others like it are out there. You're basically making the conscience effort to learn about thinks so much out of your comfort zone. We need more of that in this world. Always wanting to learn something new. No one knows everything :)
I love this song!!! But I absolutely l💕ve your videos!!! I love the way you aren't afraid to talk about the real issues. You help people become aware of how these issues effect others encourage them to think about them from multiple perspectives. I think that is so important especially right now. Thank you!!!
I very much enjoy and appreciate your open discussion format/methodology. I come from a family where (at least amongst my siblings) nothing cannot/should not be rationally discussed and debated. In fact in any discussion we have often someone will take up the devil’s advocate position just for the sake of thoughtful discussion of all views. I have always taken the position that nothing will offend me and I will do my best to honestly answer any question and I will fully admit to the numerous things of which I am ignorant. The one thing that bothers me most is when people feel or are made to feel stupid when they are actually ignorant. I’ve always said ignorance is not knowing something, stupidity is not admitting to or being unwilling to learn the things that you are ignorant of. Please keep doing what you do and being who you are.
Always loved this song. It’s very thought-provoking. I like him with House of Pain, too. Whitey Ford is talented. Yes, ignorant is just not knowing the facts.

Awesome reaction to this song as usual. Love this tune. Takes me back to high school. Thanks for the trip down memory lane. Me and my wife love your channel and personality. 💯

Thanks Ty, and the sub who requested this awesome song!! Also love your facial & eyebrow expression!! Lol much love god bless!! Xx
I have been tracking down many of these reaction videos lately and have just been loving the people-centric (and sometimes politically charged) music - and especially the conversations that follow. Keep up the good work Ty!
This was literally my favorite cd in high school (I’m in my 30’s), and I listened to it a few months ago for the first time in years. It really holds up, like all of Everlast’s music. Listen to Black Coffee. Amazing song.
Just wanted to say I’m new to your channel and I’m loving every bit of it. Just a man telling it the way it is and I like it. Good conversation is what builds us up and learning to understand is what makes us grow to be better people. I’m truly blessed with all the music I’ve heard over the years and hearing the story behind a song just makes it better. We may not know why but it’s better to ask and help, then condemn. If you get a chance check out, NF - How could you leave us ?
Outstanding song! New subscriber. Thank you for this channel. :) Yes, we all grew up immersed in what was available to us and in some parts of the country that’s very diverse and in others not so much, unfortunately. None of us have a choice, we know what we know - we’re all ignorant. We have to be willing to reach out to learn and understand what we can about each other. ☮️
Just Dr Dre found Em, in 88’ Ice-T found Everlast who went on to create the greatest Hip Hop Group House of Pain “Jump Around” plus many more. Started a new career with guitar which like me played from teenage years. Is a member of Hip Hop legendary and groups La Coka Nostra, Warporn Industries, and continues beautiful acoustic music. His baby girl has Cystic Fibrosis which he tours with all his groups but keeps his baby getting the care she needs while apart of CF charities for a cure. One man that calls his own shots and has been an idol since I was 17 in 92’.. Awesome pick and many more songs to discover that will bring out that emotion. Peace brotha’...
Wow, I love Ice T and followed him since middle school. I even read his book The Ice Opinion for summer reading in high school. I never knew that he discovered Everlast, makes me like him even more. Thx for that.
You probably don't realise how important your message is. Usually when I watch American social media there is such a divide between people, especially when it comes to colour and race. It can be very off putting for those of us who grow up side by side regardless of race, religion and culture. Its so refreshing to have you here explaining things in such a relatable way. Your words are a lesson for people to understand that there is nothing more beautiful than learning about how other people live and opening our hearts and minds and having compassion for each other. God bless you and your beautiful message. ❤️
Like my grandmother always told me: " never speak from ignorance, because you will never know what someone else knows." This woman had me reading the Oxford American dictionary to look up words that were"off color" so I could understand where they came from. And also (remember encyclopedias?) the World Book Encyclopedias to answer any questions I had about anything else. Good bless her.
Thank you for doing your reaction videos. You have created a community. At first I wasn't sure about them, mainly because so many of them are done by people of color. One of my friends said to me after I told him about them, "I'm sure it's not like watching a 'minstrel,' show at all." I had to think about that, is that what I'm doing? No, I don't think I am. I was born in 75, there was one tv in the house, one car with the one radio. When shows came on, we sat around and watched them together. When something awesome happened, People naturally look around to see if other people are enjoying it too. Now, everyone has their own devices to watch and listen on. Same in the car. I knew what my sibling's favorite songs were and when the station wasn't going to be changed. We knew each other's favorite bands and TV shows. Now, people tend to experience entertainment as a solo sport. That's why these videos make sense. Thank you for the time you put into them.
I love it that you're reacting to all different kinds of songs and learning things and different styles of music and teaching us as well. We are all learning together..and it's neat that you're telling everyone "why" people don't know what they don't know...It really does put a new light on things. Nobody can know everything about each others cultures and lives. This is all good to know! I'm familiar with this song but I don't really like it but great review.
I agree, the older I get, the more I realize I am an ignorant m-r-er. And I love that I get to learn more every day because of sources like yours on RUclips. And while I may never be friends with Todd (;) ) Ty, I feel like we might have been. To you and your family and all the work you do to make the world a better place. Thank YOU.

I was in the Atlanta area when I first heard this song. It stuck a chord with me. I went and bought the CD. It's hard to imagine. But for the grace of God I'm where I'm at now. I went though a rough patch in my life several years ago. You really learn who your friends are.
Growing up, people were ALWAYS playing House Of Pain's Jump Around, but until you put it together, people never realized Everlast here was the lead singer. It was around 1997 when he left Rap for the Acoustic Blues and started sending serious messages through his music. One of his most recent hits, carrying a similar underlying message of 'Don't Judge Others', was a song called I GETBY. You should check it out, I'm sure you'd appreciate it. EVERLAST- I GET BY
I'm the one that called you Todd instead of Tye. You said, " who is Todd? " All I thought was I swear I heard him say Todd but I guess I didn't. Thanks for reacting to Evelast's, " What it's like "
Enjoyed your reaction. We are all a lot more similar in every way than most of us relies. To quick to judge rather than think and consider. Treat other’s the way you want to be treated with the benefit of doubt that don’t you know much about any one. People hardly know themselves.
Another great thought provoking song, and yes we don’t know what another person is going through. Good luck with Ninja Warriors will be praying for you. 👍
Growing up in a Christian family, I wasn't really aware of most popular music, so my friends scratch their heads at my lack of knowledge about past music. My dad played alot of Johnny Cash (he had put out gospel, so he bought all his albums) and one song that stands out is Man in Black.
Loved this. Oh! I just found something you should look at. Keifer Sutherland ( you know, from the TV show 24) singing. He has a video called "Something You Love". It actually really good, and he has a surprisingly good voice.
Great talking points. That's why I love youtube it allows ppl to engage and share. So do other platforms but some are just more touchy than others lol.
Meaningful song and the singing, as well as guitar melody is just amazing and catchy. Such a cool, smooth sound to a deep song. Btw if you're wondering what the last image was about. I believe it has the meaning of, you ever hear of "people who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones?" The family was in their glass house and bubble and symbolized people, perhaps the most judgmental people that are privileged. They judge even though with their own flaws or worse, but they blind to it. And they live in their own "bubble" away from the harsh reality of others. So it symbolizes not just ignorance, but willful ignorance which is worse. It's one thing to not know of something, it's another to not care to know and be so self absorbed and in one's own little universe that a person or people will see and criticize what other's go through but free to do so because they don't have to deal with it, so since it won't affect them, they don't care, don't want to care, but will at the same time stay in their safe little world. The problem with that is not only is it conceited, but also foolish. The reason I say that is while many privileged may live the rest of their life without issues like some may face. Nothing is guaranteed, you can have it all, but life can hit anyone. We are insignificant and mother nature can humble anyone if their luck runs out. Whether a terminal illness to a person or their family or lose all their wealth, and it all comes crashing down. That's why it's good to try to be a considerate person, but spend more time helping and being thankful and mindful of what you have and what you can do instead of point fingers. You never know, you might have it perfect but life could come hard and fast one day out of nowhere and you put in a situation just like such "lowlife" people deal with that you never thought could or would happen to you.
EVERLAST " Whitey Ford " Started Rapping in 1987, with Ice T. Everlast was the Only White guy " Kid " That was a Syndicated Soldier. He was 17 when he Started. " Then in 1989/1990 Everlast went out on his own and put out his First Solo Album called Forever Everlasting, it has Ice T, Terrie B on it. Everlast also was on Terrie B's First Album on a song called Vinnie the Moocher. Then in 1992 Everlast along with Danny Boy and DJ Lethel Formed HOUSE OF PAIN, that Same year House of Pain got kicked off the Beastie Boys Tour, because They were Way to Wild, so Since Everlast, Danny Boy, and DJ Lethal were and Still are Best Friends with Cypress Hill, and Funkdobbiest, so The Three Rap Groups went on a Tour together, and It Was WILD!! Alchemist was pretty young in 1992, but he went on That WILD Tour with Them. Also Alchemist and James Couns son had formed The Whooliginz, and Everlast and B-Real were Both on That First Album They did. That First House of Pain album did DAMN GREAT!! With Jump Around, and Boom Shalaka Boom. Then HOP Made Their second album Back From the Dead with Who's The Man, Hero. Then in 1996 HOP Came out with Their 3rd album Truth Crushes to Earth, another BOMB album ☆☆☆☆☆ Then Everlast teamed up with Carlos Santana on Two songs, on being Duet of the Year. Then Everlast did his 3rd album called Eat at Whiteys, Great Album!! Then Everlast did his 4th album called White Trash Beautiful, then Everlast did his 5th album Songs for the Ungrateful, then Everlast did his 6th album The Ghost of Whitey Ford, then Everlast did his 7th album Acoustic. Everlast, and Danny Boy went on a House of Pain Tour. Everlast also belongs to and is one of the Rappers in the Underground Group La Coka Nostra, They have made 5 albums since 2007. Then around Three years ago Everlast, B-Real, The Divine Styilar, and Sick Jackon from the Underground Rap Group Cyco Realm, formed WarPorn. Kick Ass Rap group!! La Coka Nostra has Everlast, Danny Boy, and DJ Lethal in it, also I'll Bill, Slaine, and Big Left. Also Everlast has been Touring All Around the World Ever since, to This Very Day. Everlast is Friends with and has done Raps with Snoop Dogg, Celph Title, DJ Premier, Apathy, Swollen Members, Big Daddy Cane, Madonna, Terrie B, Busta Rhymes, Helmet, Anthrax, Immortal Technique, Sen Dog, RYA, Xzibit, Red Man, Jedie Mind Trick, Vinny Peraz, Kurupt, Run DMC, Prince Paul, Kool Keith, Kid Rock, The Demigods, Tech Nine, Eazy E, Funkdobbie, Son Dobbie, Cypress Hill, Ice T, Ice Cube, Lords of Brooklyn, Queen, Brother Ali, Kurupt, Guru, etc, etc. Everlast back in High School Him and Ice Cube would do Graffiti Art and Words on Things All Over. He is now 50 years old, and has been Rapping since he was 17!! EVERLAST Is A Real Old G. One more thing. CYPRESS HILL, HOUSE OF PAIN AND FUNKDOBBIE Are the Original Soul Assassins. Everlast an Amazing White Rapper. Everlast started Rapping 12 Years Before Eminem. I'm not Starting Any Trouble with That, I'm just stating Facts. Sorry This Is Soo Loong, I just wanted you to have some background on Everlast. 👍👍💯💯
Compassion hurts, but it's better than the emptiness of indifference. Denying other people's humanity lessens our own. This song is hard to listen to, but it's important.
This song speaks volumes about life. I try not to judge people because l don't know their circumstances or their lives. All people are basically the same. Most are good on the inside.
You can't judge a book by it's cover. On the inside were all human beings. The older you get (like myself) the more you learn but the more you learn the bigger the mystery gets.
I don't judge you at all for not knowing John Lenon. All my mind says is that it would be a delight to watch you discover him, and see what you think! And you are so right. Out of all the people you brought up, 2 Pac was the only one I'd heard of. So I'm just as ignorant in my own way.
Everlast is a real ass person u should listen to his acoustic live sessions he has on youtube. And i love your spark of conversation that every song brings after it. Ur a great reviewer
I love this song from back in my day...you’ll also like P.O.D youths of the nation...same vibe....and the only reason I couldn’t listen is cause I was busy checking out that 5 string in the back
I have always dug Everlast even when he was the lead singer with House of Pain. this song i think was an inspiration for The Moonshine Bandits song ''Moonshine'' with Danny Boone, it's got that same chill vibe as this Everlast song
Whitey Ford... can't recall if this was released right before or right after he had the heart attack. His and Santana's collaboration was excellent also.
I just want to throw it out there. I'm a white dude who loves metal music, but I have always had a soft spot for house of pain. What you said was perfect. I have a lot of black friends and I don't even think about race. We're just friends
This brings me to the triple reaction requests for the Byrds Turn, turn, turn the Youngbloods Get together and Cat Steven's Peace train. All have a message that everyone needs to hear!
I actually knew all the artists you were saying because I grew up in a mixed environment and was open to everything so I say why can’t everyone be like that a open up and explore instead of segregating themselves
Love this song! Hard truths for some, just life for others.
True words, LC! 💥
True that.
Right on.
You have summed that up perfect Laura C.
Late 90's. I remember hearing this for the first time. Touches the soul on such a deep level.

Hits hard when everybody is standing there watching the ‘perfect family’ eat dinner. There is no such thing as perfect. Doesn’t exist

This is one of those songs where the explicit lyrics are appropriate to the soul of the song. It's a real good song with a deep message.
You're reaction to The Righteous Brothers is classic BTW. Great shit bro.
a lot of truths in this song! people judge when they don't know. glad you reacted to this song
This song was so ahead of it's time. We need so much more of this, we need it dearly.
EVERLAST- I GET BY
He never left the rap……lots songs with DJ Muggs and Soul Assassins, Psycho Realm, Wu-Tang he also featured Warporn …..etc.
I'm the one that called you Todd instead of Tye. You said, " who is Todd? " All I thought was I swear I heard him say Todd but I guess I didn't. Thanks for reacting to Evelast's, " What it's like "
I am proud to say I listen to the part where he said nobody listens to this part
You're the first!
Omg you literally replied
I do that cause I honestly don't care that bad
Love, Love. Love this song and group. Great pick.
I know this is an old video, but a great message from you.
Enjoyed your reaction. We are all a lot more similar in every way than most of us relies. To quick to judge rather than think and consider. Treat other’s the way you want to be treated with the benefit of doubt that don’t you know much about any one. People hardly know themselves.
Some of the best lyrics ever written. Got it made. Another good one.
This song is one of my favorites. I love the message in here. I think it applies more now than ever.
You are so right!!
Another great thought provoking song, and yes we don’t know what another person is going through. Good luck with Ninja Warriors will be praying for you. 👍
Going to give them credit for making me question my whole life. Just makes me want to cry now.
This guy is a cool cat full of some solid wisdom. Good looking out bro.
Growing up in a Christian family, I wasn't really aware of most popular music, so my friends scratch their heads at my lack of knowledge about past music. My dad played alot of Johnny Cash (he had put out gospel, so he bought all his albums) and one song that stands out is Man in Black.
One of the gems from the late 90's❤️ Another great song I think you'd enjoy, P.O.D.- Youth of the Nation.
I've always loved this song thanks for reviewing it
do you bro & I'll take what I take! thanks for being out there
Loved this. Oh! I just found something you should look at. Keifer Sutherland ( you know, from the TV show 24) singing. He has a video called "Something You Love". It actually really good, and he has a surprisingly good voice.
Nicely said sir!
Great talking points. That's why I love youtube it allows ppl to engage and share. So do other platforms but some are just more touchy than others lol.
Powerful song that resonates with many
Never heard of the artist and never heard this song before but I agree with the message!
Great choice! Really awesome song!

Just destroyed my mood.!Normally I come to MRM to chillax but this song made me agro.Time to walk the Dog
One of my all time favorites.
Probably one of my favorite songs by any band or person.
We're all separated 'by design' - keeps the controllers in charge! Musicians do seem to brake these barriers & respect each other;)
Sooooo love everlast! I love his music, especially the eat at whiteys album. Even my mom loves everlast and she’s in her 60’s
FUN FACT: **Everlast was the only white member of ICE-T's Rhyme Syndicate group in 1989**
You can't judge a book by it's cover.
Amen brother
Everlast is a real ass person u should listen to his acoustic live sessions he has on youtube. And i love your spark of conversation that every song brings after it. Ur a great reviewer
I love this song from back in my day...you’ll also like P.O.D youths of the nation...same vibe....and the only reason I couldn’t listen is cause I was busy checking out that 5 string in the back
Profound...
By the same measure that ye judge others, so shall ye be judged. Judge not. We see through a glass darkly.
I have always dug Everlast even when he was the lead singer with House of Pain. this song i think was an inspiration for The Moonshine Bandits song ''Moonshine'' with Danny Boone, it's got that same chill vibe as this Everlast song
Wish I had just a quarter of your talent and drive.
People in glass houses. That is a poignant message in this song.
Whitey Ford... can't recall if this was released right before or right after he had the heart attack. His and Santana's collaboration was excellent also.
Never judge a book by it's cover.
This is my absolute favorite song!!!
Big dog God bless you. Great explanation of shit my man.
I actually knew all the artists you were saying because I grew up in a mixed environment and was open to everything so I say why can’t everyone be like that a open up and explore instead of segregating themselves
