Hey Paul just wanted to say thanks for the daily content - I just hit mythic for the first time ever after a few months of trying and your content has not only be extremely helpful but also very entertaining. The daily Cheon draft has become part of my schedule & I’m excited for the additional Cheon content we’ll be getting on LR soon!
Nice job. I haven’t been in mythic in a few months… I’ve been really inconsistent the last couple of sets. I should probably play sober more often and try regulating my tilt levels lol.
I paused the video to post this exact message after watching how upset you were with yourself. No need to apologize or be too hard on yourself, Paul. It's helpful to see we ALL make mistakes. Thank you for the content… your daily videos are a gem!
I have been finding blue VERY open as of late and i have no idea why; its not like its a bad color, and it synergizes very well with every other color. The meta for this format is very weird, but that's what makes it fun!
I could hear your frustration and I was yelling at my phone for you to not tilt in that last video.😂 I'm always a great day when there's a video from you Paul. And once again, great job on commentating the world championships.
48:35 We don’t sweat the occasional misplays, Paul. You are incredible, and anyone playing this amount while trying to make a video is going to mess up sometimes. You are the draft video GOAT.
Hello :) I rly love your daily uploads - greetings from germany! Was nice seeing you commenting MtG Worlds. At 1:09:11 you could have put counters on both creatures that already had a counter since they would have doubled. But you won nonetheless ☺️
Stumbled on your channel by accident, but what a great accident it was! Your knowledge on not just draft, but sealed as well was exactly what I wanted to see! Not to mention how entertaining you make the entire process. Thanks for the great content Paul!
Enjoyed your commentary at worlds this weekend. We played back on the 21st in Bo1 draft, and without spoilers in case it is posted, I was really anticipating seeing your side of it. I was curious if you're still running through your backlog of drafts to upload. You were on a similar deck to the one in this video, so I was very excited to see today's upload.
This is the second time you've said "Enduring Endurance" and I keep imagining that as a WUBRG enchantment creature from a "Un" set. I bet it would have some crazy text.
Another great draft Paul and thanks as always for the very entertaining content! I've noticed over the past week or so that I end up in blue a LOT. The Jund decks seem to always be over-drafted these days I think.
I don't know if it's optimal but at 34:05, would it be worth considering the Meat Locker/Defiant Survivor synergy? You could Drowned Diner to draw into it and then the next turn have an engine for making 2/2's for several turns in a row.
How do you decide between 16 or 17 lands? It seems like you always prefer to run 17, though I've heard other good drafters insist on running 16 in Arena with hand smoothing
@jacker6766 yes, and how many functional mana sources you have in your deck. This includes landcycling, permanents that tap for additional mana, etc. Significant draw/loot effects allow for looser mana bases because you can sift through more cards to find land in a pinch. More functional mana sources means you can get away with more "liberties" with your mana base

your creeping peeper was tapped for the drowned diner @53 minutes, you couldn't have blocked with it. great content as always

Great efficient no nonsense deck, as to be expected from #1. Nice!
Glad you like it!
Great self-awareness and discipline to take a break and detilt Mr. Cheon. It really showed in the following games, your performance looked deadly.
yeah i'm glad I found your channel, you dont have to apologize, that's happen with the best of us
Yeah thanks

🤣🤣🤣 1:03:33 "Maybe their deck is Razorkins and Counterspells" Translation- Three color soup with perfect dual mana cards. I chuckled.
You did the commentary over the weekend!!!! Great job
Appreciate it!
Your commentary at worlds was awesome. One of my favorite draft channels. Please keep up the awesome videos!
Thanks! Will do!
Flytrap was incredible here!

These videos are very good! You do an outstanding job of explaining picks and plays! Love the content and I am learning a lot from you. Thanks! :)
Glad you like them!
One more great draft....good job at Vegas also!! Very pleased with your thoughts insights and even your tilts
Much appreciated!
Cox Cable catching strays ;)
Quite a run, Mr. Cheon. Well deserved stay at #1 of the ranks.
Ty!
Amazing job against the needlehead deck! That was a masterclass in maximizing efficency. Eventually, the Flytrap was just too much for them.
Glad you enjoyed it!

You rock Paul. Great drafting, as always. I can’t wait for you to open a BOMB rare like you deserve!
Me too!
Great commentary at worlds!

I feel like the white leyline is opened way too often 😢

I also hate blue black in this format but I think it was the line.
great games!
My dyslexia had me spit my coffee out reading “self mill”.
1:33:52 Javier Dominguez has been real quiet since this video dropped.
I think someone to your right moved off from green after pack 1
Not drownering the 4/1 seems like a huge misplay with the skinripper coming down - they were essentially guaranteed to be able to kill the drowner.
Oh well
@@haumph haha, sorry Paul, I could 100% have written this as a question, as opposed to an accusation. Sorry for the tone.
I'm also trying to top you.. but I'm at like.. 1800 ish.
do you ever play control in this format, I always see you force more aggro type decks
Sometimes
Where can I watch the championship games?
It was on twitch.tv/magic
How do you decide between 16 or 17 lands? It seems like you always prefer to run 17, though I've heard other good drafters insist on running 16 in Arena with hand smoothing
From what i know it depends on how low your curve/aggro you are is

Was there ever an angle P3P1 to get the rare room?
first
Hate to be that guy but it’s pronounced “new-since”, not “new-uh-since” 😅
