She ALWAYS is dressed great; has perfect makeup, her engaging personality is captivating. And...she is a great boat captain. Jason, you scored big time with Nikki.
Hang in there Jason. The fruit of all that hard work will pay off when you anchor at your destination. More beauty awaits. You guys are a great team. When the tree is leaning, you have each other for support. Thanks for a great video.
That’s with everything in life. Learning to not only accept but ENJOY the bad days along with the good days takes experience and maturity. Once you realize that the mind is always seeking new adventures and uses monotony as motivation to move forward, it should be much easier to mentally reclassify the down time, slow periods or bad moments as a new mini beginning.
@@jasonfoster2909 Very good description of good mental housekeeping, as it were, fashion the best now that you can do. Breathe and count your blessings.
Absolutely love the way you guys edited the passage...day by day with little updates. So much better than just covering a few days and vroom you're at the destination.
We wanted people to experience the passage with us. It makes for longer videos and it's more drawn out, but we think its a neat way to share the adventure.
I spent 4 years in a semi with my wife traveled 48 an all of Canada I miss those days she was amazing but we had fun but some time you need to just get away from each other I would go in to the truck stop an she would read a book an the 28th day OMG but the 29th day was awesome again I do miss those days it made love her more 31 years this year we are bestest friends
Nikki said..."Sometimes it's about the journey and not the destination." This reminds me of one of my all time favs...The journey IS the destination! PEACE OUT! Ü
Standing Watch at night at sea tends to make you philosophical; you cannot help it. The immensity and power of the ocean makes you think of about things and you become appreciative.
Jason, you're crazy if you think you don't hold up your end. You fix all the stuff on the boat, including spending weeks on a nasty toilet with someone else's filth in it, PLUS you wash the dishes. Not taking anything away from Nikki and her iron stomach, and amazing AMAZING food prep and cleaning skills, plus being a great skipper (or whatever you call it). Seems to me you guys are a pretty well-matched team.
I appreciate they are being real. Let’s all be honest the ocean is beautiful it’s peaceful and there is no tied down to a 9-5. However there are many things too that are not enjoyable about the nomadic life. The RV does give more options in a way then being stuck on a boat for 30 days. Big credit to them as I would not be able to do what they are doing.
I think the boat gives more options. They're just different ones. The distances they're covering in this passage are VAST - imagine going from LA to New York and back nonstop, just with the added bonus that by the time you get back, someone has totally changed LA, installed a massively interesting new population, with new architecture, new landscape, new climate and a new culture... the world is quite a bit bigger than the US... ;-)
If you have ever sailed or even taken a cruise you will know the ocean is never peaceful beautiful yes but not peaceful - you have to respect the sea at all times
Crossing oceans leaves you exhausted. Uncomfortable and broke. But there is that amazing feeling at the end of it all. Rv you never need to be exhausted, uncomfortable or broke. You can go to a movie, buy anything you need today. Apples and oranges
I don't see the boat offering more options. Sure you can travel to any coastal destination but the down side is the feeling of isolation and monotony of those long passages. That sounds like what Jason's going through. Truth be told, I'd feel the same way. Even worse, you can't stop and do something different. Now if you love the sea and can put up with the cons, then that's great but let's not pretend that the sailing life offers more options than traveling the world by other means.
Wow, you guys are living the dream, Nikki your positive can-do attitude and I know for video sake, that never ending smile can pull Jason through the most uneven seas, the rest of us can only live Vicariously with the recorded experience the two of you provide us. Thank you both and as always please stay safe.
YAY!!! A longer video - hold up a sec *[fast paced foot steppping sounds in the background - pouring a glass of wine & grabbing a snack]* ... okay, sittin' down & ready to watch the awesome video! :)
Never take the Sea for Granted. It’s normal, your have your down Days and your Up Days. Remember you both have something in common and that’s a Blessing. ⛵️
Love the way they keep the boat clean, same with there sailing gear, ropes are stored ,not just lying around, know a lot of yachties are not OCD, but it's good to see, after all it's there home.
I, and I'm sure many others, enjoy and appreciate that you are sharing your journeys with us; strangers because we've never met but often feeling like brothers and sisters as we "travel" with you. We are wishing you safe passage, always.
I lost it when zinga stuck his head around the corner. I'll say it again, I'd love to see a semi regular day in the life of zinga and Cleo vid series. Thanks 😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎
Respect the ocean but enjoy the sea, wind, waves, salt water splashes, and the curious companion landed on deck. They make a long passage an adventure with mother nature. Your passage is such an envy.
Outstanding video. You both are presenting an honest, not pessimistic or sugar-coated, but honest perspective of sailing life at sea. This ought to be a make-or-break video for others considering the sailing life.
Before anybody complains about not wearing lifelines on deck, just be careful out there. If one of you falls over, its hard to pick out a head and arms in the ocean that rough. Looks like a blasty blast though. cheers
Every Sailor has the right to sail how they choose. Just cuz you are afraid of being on deck without a harness doesn't mean they should be. Statistically you probably get in a car a couple times a day which is 100X more dangerous than what they are doing. Don't push fear! Fear is the mind killer and the slayer or dreams.
A Conneely - 100 people drown in bathtub in US per year is not really saying much. For example I could say ~25 people fall overboard from Cruise ships every year, which sounds like a really small number but again it is not really telling us anything in reality. Sounds like Cruise Ships are safer right? Or I could say 155 - 160 die as result of falling overboard in US every year. WOW, that sounds much worse and odds of falling overboard and dying are much worse right? Not necessarily, those numbers imply that but may not be true. You have to put that into perspective, how many people have done so in comparison to total number of people. I think it is pretty safe to say every person in US has taken a bath at least once a year, which even looking at that simple number means you have 0.0000312% chance of drowning in bathtub, and that is just silly to expect to follow extraordinary safety procedures in such a situation, one would never be living life. Have no clue how many are onboard a boat per year, but again think it is pretty safe to say not every US person is, so yes the chances of falling overboard and dying as result is bigger risk. Being out on open ocean in smaller boat odds will of course increase the worse the conditions become and worse that boat rocks around.
I never stated to become complacent or ignore safety in such cases, just pointing out that is not even a close comparison nor something that one would take extra precautionary measures for. More importantly my point was x number of deaths does not accurately depict anything without putting it into proper perspective. Do I have the numbers for small boats, nope only what I gave which for US is based from USCG. While that is more comparable than your drowning in tub scenario, that still is mostly comprised of inland bodies of water with little wave action so not quite the same as out in the ocean. But here is 2014 report if interested www.uscgboating.org/library/accident-statistics/Recreational-Boating-Statistics-2014.pdf
Yes, I have a stat for you … a couple doing the exact same as the Wynns last year in the Atlantic … two left, one returned. Rogue wave at night … never saw it coming. Ironically, now the widower RVs … but alone. I know, from my own experience how difficult it is to see a person's head in waves much smaller than those in this video. As a previous poster mentioned, as soon as you take your eyes off of them ... they are gone. I have lost 3 friends in scuba diving due to complacency, others that push the rules thinking "it won't happen to me" but it does and it will. I've been on a shipwreck where one of the Cousteau crew died … it's an easy dive, so something must've been overlooked (and that includes medical condition). The ones that survive know two things 1. How extremely lucky they were by not being complacent. 2. Stupidity kills And, yes, I know they made it safely across and wish them the best. The Wynns also know they did the crossing at the best time with the best conditions with the worst safety precautions … if you need to be holding on due to the waves … To Jason and Nikki … think about it! Seriously!
Loved the moon shots, the rolling seas, Nikki's reflections on taking the slow boat and how alive the world is. The more I spend time in nature, the more cues and subtle shifts of energy I notice. They are small shifts here in the city but you can truly feel the enormous energy of the world when you are in the middle of the ocean or the deep in the forest.
Enjoy the passage guys, your getting to see and do things 99% of us will never experience. Love the videos, keep them coming, enjoy life and be happy! 😊
Used to sail on 52 ft sailboat for 8 weeks around Bahamas when I was probably 12 or 13 with my family. It was amazing experiences for me and all of us. I still remember that trip today. I am now 53. I miss sailing. You both have a wonderful time. I been following you since you both started the RV. I truly enjoyed watching your journeys.
Niikkiii. Are we there yet! I feel your pain Jason what a huge body of water to cross! We are still living the dream in our rv ,thanks for sharing! Peace out the Mittons 😸😻✌
Yes. Nikki! You said it. I heard it. I love it. The earth itself is absolutely a living organism. like a cell that knows everything it needs to do without thinking about it. More people need to see it that way. It's not crazy at all its reality.
Captain Jen must be so proud of you! I have been watching quite a few episodes in o row now and have seen how much you have learned. Kent and your family must be amazed as well.
Absolutely loved the his vlog entry‼️✨⛵️⚓️✨. So with you Nikki as to the excitement of the sea, the movement the total scale of the thing. Thank you for going for it to you both.
Respect the ocean, by wearing your harness when you go out on deck. One big wave can knock you off your feet and over the side, and looking out into that sea, it'd be damn difficult for one person to keep you in sight and at the same time turn the boat around. Once you take your eyes off the person overboard, they are lost! So don't take the risk; it's just not worth it for the minute it takes to hook up the harness; especially since you already have the runners there. Complacency kills!
I agree with you NeonStyle. I see the boat rocking, them stumbling, a (little)wave hitting Justin & yet they think they don't need a safety harness. idk... they seem like a pretty intelligent couple so I guess we give them the benefit of the doubt that they know what they are doing.
It's like a computer backup or insurance. You hope you never have to use it, until you need it. I'd suggest the inflatable type with the EPIRB, a flashlight, and a whistle. Make it comfortable to wear, put it on, and hope you never have to use it.
Hey Nikki & Jason, you're almost at 200,000 subscribers, congrats. I hope everyone enjoys your videos as much as I do. All those days at sea are tough I bet, but remember, the reward to your hard work will be worth it when you arrive at you destination. God bless, good luck and have fun. BTW - Jason, if you find a Buc-ee's gas station in the middle of the ocean, stop in and get Nikki some ice cream.
I have to agree with Nikki, I floated from San Francisco to Japan, it took one month with a week layover in Hawaii, I could just watch the waves all day, counting flying fish and looking at the Luminescence at night. It was an amazing experience I will never forget!
You guys are awesome. Im sure by now you're immune to noisy negative comments. Just keep doing your thing and living life to the fullest! Wishing you safe travels and beautiful adventures ✌
Love the ending!😂!! The sea is as alive as the country you saw but weren't seiing before😉 yes, our earth is alive un deed👍🏼that'´s what's it makes it so special 🤓lucky you...go wynns go😍
I've always been wondering why the flying fish eggs are not being harvested, at least looked into to see if they could be harvested for tobiko for sushi.
I told them that last year ! They don't like to fish ! See all the fish they film so far on this trip ? Jason is eating too much soy and has a vegan testosterone deficit ! Their diet is loaded with " lectins " low energy and mood is what happens to men on the diet he is on ! I feel sorry for him ! Soy is not for men !
THANK YOU for your brutal honesty my man Jason, it can get fatiguing out there for so long, I'm SURE! You are RIGHT, I see a WHOLE lot of work getting to the place that you guys are. I have GIGANTIC respect for both of you!!! ... And, I still vote Nikki the most ADORABLE woman on RUclips! HOW and WHY do people give thumbs down on your videos.... I don't get it! STAY SAFE!!!!!! Lots of love for you two out here on dry land!
You both are insane!!! I would be freaking out!!! Love your free spirits and adventurous natures, as what you both do in this video would be a living hell for me. My nerves and stomach could never handle it!!! You both rock, literally and figuritively!!!!! 😁
One of the best honest moments I ever seen from Jason Mr. jokester ...you can feel the honesty and I Apricate that I feel theses next few videos are going to revile a lot more of what makes you guys such a strong couple ...your videos have always been top notch and so many cherish what you share safe travels see you soon :)
absolutely agree with seeing how alive our planet is when on the water. I have seen it myself living on the coast, and I can tell anyone that the ocean is very alive and has different moods.
Love this!! Nikki love all the cooking and your hair is so cute. Just think of all the sailors that came before you that did this same trip. They were lucky to make it. Consider this time we are in as a posed to the 1500’s. Can you imagine that trip!?! Yikes! Always looking forward to my Sunday’s with the WYNNS! Thanks!
I know it is an insignificant %, but how can anyone give you guys a thumbs down??? I do not understand that!!! I guess you can't please everybody all the time!! I am constantly amazed at what you both have been able to learn(and transition from the RV) and how you have piloted and maintained the boat with no prior sailing knowledge...you both ROCK!!!!
towards the end there Nikki, you mentioned how 'alive, and mesmerising our planet is', you pretty much explained a couple of your amazing traits too...thanks for another wonderful glimpse into your adventures
The title explains what I've been feeling since I started watching this channel. You're either a sailor, or you're not... Niki's definitely luvin it...
LOVE this video, I'm SO happy to see that you're showing us your true feelings and being more real. I was feeling like Jason was often smiling through the pain on days when he hated the sea, but now he's being real about his feelings. (Obviously I know he doesn't actually HATE the sea, but some days it tries his patience and maybe even tests the strength of their relationship....Great job guys!!)
If you've never been in the middle of the ocean at 0200, there is NOTHING out there but you and the waves.....you understand how insignificant you are and how big the ocean is. Made several cruises on a LST in the north atlantic in the late 70's and still to this day, remember being on the mid-watch checking the bull chains on our causeway sections chained to the side of the ship. It makes you appreciate what you have and your loved ones. Be careful out there, pay attention to the details and have fun!!!
Niki, so sorry that you got cut off at the end. It was very nice having you share you feelings regarding the ocean. I hope you get to finish your thoughts. Jason, I hope that you can slow down and enjoy your time under passage.
Good luck on your adventures guys, wishing you safe travels, but I miss you guys on the RV! Seemed like you enjoyed more, did a lot more and visited a lot more places. I'm sure you're enjoying your new adventures and extra work. Take care and thank you for sharing your experiences!
Wow I just love the sailing here. Night sailing is my fave too Nikki. It just seems so raw and basic and all your senses feel so alive and buzzing. But I also get Jason’s view on passage sailing - it’s hard to see the good side sometimes 😀. What an amazing journey for a couple with so relatively little experience. You guys are totally inspirational.
3:35 I'm honestly surprised the cats aren't out there trying to get their breakfast! Georgie can hear/smell a flying fish from a mile away and will dart out on deck to try and get herself a salty treat, lol. Great episode! Oh, and YES, only blue water cruisers seems to *get* the groundhog day phenomenon where nothing different happens and nothing productive gets done. So glad we're not the only ones. 😜⛵🌊
Oh...and I really like your channel. You are one of my favorite ! this almost by the minute recounts of the longest passage is not boring at all and shows real life out there.
Looking back to these older posts, and one can see the evolution of sailors. The monotony of the sea is overtaken by the reality of the sea. Glad to see the growth of you both.
We went back and watched your sailing classes in Florida! You guys surely have come so far! Now look at you, sailing the Pacific! We can,t wait to sail our very first time. You make it seem possible😁 Love yas keep safe
I've worked offshore on dive vessels doing commercial diving. I always enjoyed the sunrises and sunsets and not being able to see any land, but after 40-50 days you go stir crazy doing the same thing day in, day out. Watching these videos does make me miss it a little after 10 years though. As always, great video.
Sometimes it feels like I'm on the boat with you. This is good because, though I don't get seasick, my husband does and doesn't want to go out on the ocean. So going with you lets me get it out of my system. And now the rocking has made me sleepy LOL! 😊
I absolutely love the red Moon rise. Of course it only happens on a full moon but it doesn't happen often enough I'm so glad you guys got to see it and share it
Nikki you deserve your own cooking show on Food Network.Jason, with your video skills you can be the producer. Love how the cats share their food. Aren’t theire stabilizer fins that would make the ride more comfortable?
I so relate to Jason! I get dizzy if I nod my head too fast, so that washing machine experience would have me curled up in a fetal position crying for my mom! But I really love how you guys balance each other out. You're a boss Nikki!!
I love watching your travels. Your are doing so well out at sea with how rough it has been. You have both come so far. I am loving the footage and the editing is so good! 😊😊😊
I once heard a story about a fighter pilot shopping for an ultralight plane. He said blasting through the sky in a fighter jet is not flying, but soaring at 30 mph is. The flight can be enjoyed, controlled, contemplated, and the beauty of the surroundings truly experienced. You are doing this right, keep it up! Thanks for the great episode. Love the depth of the late night personal reflections.
Another great video guys... both you guys are amazing - i feel for you Jason Im the same when im sleep deprived - please be careful out there guys - amazing accomplishment :)
Jason, I will be glad to fill in for you on the next long passage. As always, you both do an excellent job of telling the story of what it would actually be like on all of your adventures. I subscribe to many of the RUclips sailing channels, and your video's are the best. We will keep an eye out for you, we will be on the Windspirit (French Polynesia) in early October, just a chance we could spot you. Thanks for all your dedication and hard work!
This is one of my favorite videos you guys ever have done. So many RUclipsrs smile fake for subs and that's a turnoff because its not real.....You guys have given me soooo many real fun videos that one real video is so refreshing........I remember the laugh i had when jason cut his finger on the road to alaska.....that was real life,,,,,Thank you two for EVERYTHING>>>>.

Now, woo woo woo.... Jason is no slouch himself. let's Go Jason!!!! LOL...
LOL, Singa looking around the corner...”You talkin’ to me?” Too cute!!!

But so glad I get to watch you guys. And I worry about the cats falling off. :(
Nikki understands passage making. It’s the best part of the cruiser’s life. Suspended animation. Quiet (or VERY exciting) it is a true joy!
NeonsStyle safety patrol!
I agree with you NeonStyle. I see the boat rocking, them stumbling, a (little)wave hitting Justin & yet they think they don't need a safety harness. idk... they seem like a pretty intelligent couple so I guess we give them the benefit of the doubt that they know what they are doing.
Loosemouth Cowboy lol! So true.
Of course, but every one needs a prod now and then; complacency kills.
One of the things I enjoy watching is that you always show us the seas, sunsets, moonrises, etc. very relaxing. :) peace
Love the honesty! Good save on the "Spending time with you" comment.
you two set the example and keep all of us smiling.
Can't wait for my Sun AM fix. Love it. You sure have stocked that nice Cat. with amazing food. Your attitudes over the years keep me coming back.
Love the ending!😂!! The sea is as alive as the country you saw but weren't seiing before😉 yes, our earth is alive un deed👍🏼that'´s what's it makes it so special 🤓lucky you...go wynns go😍
Great video. Oh, the flying fish that land on your boat is called “bait”! Use them to catch bigger fish!
dang, don't know why we never thought about that!!!! Next time for sure!
I was thinking the same thing..
I've always been wondering why the flying fish eggs are not being harvested, at least looked into to see if they could be harvested for tobiko for sushi.
Hell with
Bait, free cat food
I told them that last year ! They don't like to fish ! See all the fish they film so far on this trip ? Jason is eating too much soy and has a vegan testosterone deficit ! Their diet is loaded with " lectins " low energy and mood is what happens to men on the diet he is on ! I feel sorry for him ! Soy is not for men !
To be honest i love your videos guys ! You , Sv Delos and La Vaga are the best sayling channels out there ! Greetings from Bulgaria ! Cheers ! :)
I agree. I would add RAN and the Old Seadog to the list.
Free Range Sailing is at my top of the list with the Wynns
Sailing Millennial Falcon is my favorite. Sailing Zatara is also excellent.
I second Sailing Zatara
Holy carp you folks are crossing the Pacific after only two years of sailing. Think how far you've come from your former land lubber selves.
Yes, praise them. That's what they want
And they deserve every darn bit of it.
John Mills Why the disrespect?
@@cromwellw91 he's obviously unhappy
THANK YOU for your brutal honesty my man Jason, it can get fatiguing out there for so long, I'm SURE! You are RIGHT, I see a WHOLE lot of work getting to the place that you guys are. I have GIGANTIC respect for both of you!!! ... And, I still vote Nikki the most ADORABLE woman on RUclips! HOW and WHY do people give thumbs down on your videos.... I don't get it! STAY SAFE!!!!!! Lots of love for you two out here on dry land!
Stating how the ocean is just one amazing, living organism shows me how amazing your philosophy on life is. KUDOS to this video.
You both are insane!!! I would be freaking out!!! Love your free spirits and adventurous natures, as what you both do in this video would be a living hell for me. My nerves and stomach could never handle it!!! You both rock, literally and figuritively!!!!! 😁
You guys look so chill.....the epitome of cool sailing without drama!
Sailing one of the most beautiful education.i by myself sailing alone around the world. Many thanks for the beautiful video, many thanks
Jason is the most down to earth dude and does so much and thinks it's nothing great job just keep moving forward
I know! I'm a lucky lucky woman.
Great Episode. I love the comment about the analogy of Space X travel to H2O Travel. Happy to see you guys are enjoying passage passage.
I love your deep thought moments, "how alive our planet is" and "sometimes it is about the journey and not the destination " wow.. amazing
absolutely agree with seeing how alive our planet is when on the water.
Jason damn near sounds like he could do RVing again. 😁
Moody days I have them every day. It’s good to see you both.
It's not the passages, its the affordable housing in exotic and interesting places, and the wonderful boat maintenance nonstop.
Such A Wonderful Adventure For You Both.
Fair Winds & Blessings Always.
I love Jason's description of Ground Hog's Day, it sounded like my description of life when my boys were babies.
That is the most civilised crossing of the Pacific I have ever seen!
You make it seem possible😁
Love yas keep safe
Now THAT was a next level DTM video with editing and everything!
The edge you two have on La Vagabonde is quality and safety. Hang in there, keep producing, and enjoy! Lots of love from a sailor in the industry.
PS Code Switch is an awesome podcast that might especially pique your interest because of all of your travels!
Thank you for your honesty. It gives us dreamers a real perspective 🤗
Thank you for sharing your thoughts and travels. Be safe and smooth sailing .
Sometimes it feels like I'm on the boat with you. This is good because, though I don't get seasick, my husband does and doesn't want to go out on the ocean. So going with you lets me get it out of my system. And now the rocking has made me sleepy LOL! 😊
Awesome as the passage continues. I was totally listening to you and the battery went dead. Until next time, stay safe and enjoy when you can.
I absolutely love the red Moon rise. Of course it only happens on a full moon but it doesn't happen often enough I'm so glad you guys got to see it and share it
I LOVE these shots of the ocean...sights, sounds of ocean. THANK YOU!
Jason, you the man! You fix everything...you allow your wife to blossom
Not sure I could handle that much solitude. I am in awe of both of you for following your dreams and rolling with the waves!
Can't fall asleep because I'm hooked on your videos. . Keep it up
