For the engine side fit the gasket with the tab down and side of the gasket with the lines facing towards you and away from the carb. I believe that is the way mine went together. I did not see you try that, at least not in the video. That third gasket is for the header.

When I put the carb on the engine, I tried both gaskets in every other place there were gaskets, to no avail. I did use one of the other gaskets between the engine and the isolator, but I have to carve out the hole to match in engine. My engine is an EX13. So I am positive that only 1 of the 3 gaskets is actually made for that engine and it is indeed for the air intake. I used one of the other ones, after I modified it, and the other one didn't fit anything.

Just installed one of those carbs and its will run on choke only briefly. Bought a replacement pull rope assembly piece of junk, the eyelet came off with the first pull then cut a groove in the assembly after 6 pulls. So what it cost for factory parts I ordered a new Honda KNOCK OFF MOTOR for $145 shipped to my door...

I’m not surprised. As I said in the video, I was able to take a couple parts off the knock off and fix the original carb. Now I’m really glad I went that route.

0:43 that's either moisture in your fuel or too much fuel stabilizer.

I guess that is possible. As I bought it used, it's hard to know for sure. I doubt that it was too much fuel stabilizer though. While it doesn't seem like it was abused, it wasn't loved.

I just installed one of those carburetor. In my Robin Subaru ex17. Yes you need those 3 baskets. Just pay attention when you take off the old carburator. You'll see the position of each gasket. JUST PAY ATTENTION. take fotos maybe easy for you to remember.

You’re right. You do need three gaskets. I still had all three of the old gaskets, they were just torn. They were not the three gaskets I got in the kit. I bought some gasket material and cut the gasket I needed. This wasn’t my first rodeo.

Great video. Do you have a pic of the completed gasket you made, would be curious to see what holes were cutout.

I do not have a picture. But I will share this with you, something I learned the hard way. Where the little runner that runs down the right side of the face? You will want to open a hole around the bottom of that area with an 1/8 in or 3/16 inch drill bit. That is the vent for the carb bowl. If you don't have a hole there, the fuel will come up the jet tube and flood your motor.

@@GroundhogzGaragethank God for this comment. You saved my ass. Cut my own gaskets and was getting the same condition of fuel coming out of the carb and the engine was running super rich. Turns out that I didn't have that channel open!! Thank you sir 🙏🙏
