Are you holding an iPhone right now? Have you ever wondered about the insane technology used in Apple’s iPhone factories to get that iPhone in your hands?
This was not a very well produced video, a few mistakes I can ignore but this was just sloppy. Manufacturers don’t mass produce “spare parts”, they produce components. It’s not a strong *core*, it’s a Processor. For “God knows how long”… really? An educational video not telling how long the average iPhone user holds on to their device? 🙄 The first market to get the new iPhones is not China, it’s Australia. Air travel is the most carbon intensive way to ship items, it is not “to an extent environmentally friendly”. It makes financial and strategic sense to use air transport, but it is *to an extent* the most ecologically damaging way to ship something. The biggest hazard in air freight is not cracked screens, but lithium battery fires that can destroy pallets of cargo and bring down planes. Planes refuel but I’ve never heard a plane “recharge”, why even put that in there? You don’t call a company that employs child labor “famous”. You call them *infamous*.
I'm glad someone commented about it. I also did not understand why he said strong core... It's just a processor. He is also very biased and making it seem like the iPhone is most powerful phone and that's why it's successful. When it's just because it's the most popular option and if you don't own one, your wierd. Most people have no idea what they are buying, as long as it has an apple on the back. Even though it's basically the same phone every year just with slight upgrades and a bigger number
3:27 "the foxcon factory is spread across 2.2 million square miles" thats pretty impressive seeing as thats as big as the earth circumference 89 Times lmao
@smokey Yea, but go back to fucking high school geometry. Circumference is for a circle not a sphere. Y’all are fucking stupid on here… going on reddit
Science and Technology Park (深圳富士康龙华园区) is a technology park in Longhua Town, Shenzhen, in the south of China, that is Foxconn's largest factory site worldwide. It gained notoriety in 2010 after a spate of suicide attempts, many of them successful, by employees at the Foxconn facilities in the area, totaling 15 attempts that year, 10-13 of which were fatal. The park produces the bulk of Apple's iPhone line. Hundreds of thousands of workers (varying counts include 230,000, 300,000, and 450,000) are employed at the site, a walled campus sometimes referred to as “Foxconn City”. Covering about 3 km2 (1.2 sq mi) , it includes 15 factories, worker dormitories, 4 swimming pools, a fire brigade, its own television network (Foxconn TV), and a city centre with a grocery store, bank, restaurants, bookstore, and hospital. While some workers live in surrounding towns and villages, others live and work inside the complex; a quarter of the employees live in the dormitories, and many of them work up to 12 hours a day for 6 days each week.
I think you should have said more about the horrible working conditions and scandals at foxconn. I mean, there already were several suicides and they even attached webs under some windows of the worker residences because they know that some of them already jumped out of there…
when I heard "accusations" I almost fell out of my chair. Everyone knows even by the clips shown in this video, these are not accusations. They're basic truths.
There are 350,000 Foxconn employees and 2 or 3 suicides in recent years. There are 13.5 suicide per 100,000 people in the USA a year. You better go check your brain because it is washed clean by the media.
I am devoted to APPLE products & use my iPhone 13 more than my MacAir. I wish APPLE would not abandon norms just because it can: 12 hour shifts are inhumane.
I have an iPhone 13 pro max 256 gig, I was daily driving an iPhone 7 32 gig, it’s insane how much more productive I’ve become. It’s so nice not always carrying around a portable battery bank, or deleting apps to make room for new one’s.
I have the 13 pro max 1tb and it’s crazy how much space I have to have tons of apps without deleting but my battery runs quick I don’t know if it’s because I use it on max performance.

I have an iPhone X I mistakenly installed iOS 16.0 and now I don’t want it because of the side effect Face ID not working apps crushing I really need help 🙁
Transporting iphones with airplanes is not environmental friendly, it is just affordable by Apple, because of insane revenues. I am sure, iphones and all Apple products are most costly in Europe. Maybe just in Sweden, Germany and Netherlands. I, nearly always got an preowned iphone from Ebay. Also, I am selling it afterwards on Ebay to the next user. The only iphone I got anew, were the SE and the 12 mini, which is already sold a replaced buy a preowned iphone 11 pro with double the price.😁
German here, why do you assume that? 😂 Apple products cost nearly exactly the same here as in the US. Europe is even cheaper than the US if you look at most other things. Why does everyone think that especially Germany is expensive? We have the cheapest groceries in the western world for example.
Good day I am a worker in this Factory can supply with any iPhone of your chioce you have to pre order and have a discount of 25%, low amount and you can pay twice .
Unfortunately, yes. It’s Foxconn that has these large nets to prevent suicide attempts. It’s quite sad if you think about this. Before they placed the nets, many workers of the company committed suicide that succeeded after jumping from one of the many high buildings in the area. The blame is not for Apple. The problems lies in essence within the culture of Chinese people and in this case also with Foxconn as a company. It’s the unfortunate truth my friend. Thank you for mentioning it in the comment section.
Didn't they do a study where the number of suicides from Foxconn employees are lower than China's national average? It's not much, at only 5% lower but it's people like you that keep perpetuating wrong narratives
@@emiel333 the blame is actually for both and all those giant companies. They just care about their profits and don’t care much about the labor. As long as their business runs and they make more money they don’t care who does the job. And they’ll pay a very small amount of money for long time jobs simply because there are a lot of poor people and if these don’t work there’ll always be thousands more to take a job because they’re desperate and don’t have another choice. This is the dark side of big companies.
Lol on the same sticker on the back it says "Designed in California, assembled in China". Why did you leave out the next part of the sentence for your video rhetoric?:)))
7:23 “Comfortable housing is made for the workers.”

I was surprised they didn’t include the complimentary suicidal nets for accidental falls in this video.
