Timelapse in 12 mins - making my GARAGE WORKSHOP!

- Опубликовано: 19 мар 2020
- I made my garage workshop several years ago and put together a bunch of videos about it. I always wanted to make a single timelapse video showing the full build from beginning to end, so here you go. This is a 242 sq ft workshop built in a relatively standard UK double garage. Everything is designed to be temporary so I can take it out if I ever move (!).

Thank you!! 👍🛠🤘
Lol for a 'temporary' solution this is fancier than most workshop I've seen!
Just finished watching! Wowsers!1111
No exaggeration- I could have watched this for three straight hours. Superb. 👍👍
The making of the video itself is superb, not to mention the work flow and skill set involved! Nothing but respect!
I just sold my 11.2 acre property after 22 yrs (driven out by the antics of the marijuana growers) where I had built an 800 sq Ft shop. I bought a better home in a civilized neighborhood and now have a 12 X 12 ft building I have converted to a mini temporary shop but yet need more space to set up a woodworking shop. What I have available is about 2/3 rds of a tight 1 .5 car garage; roughly 12 x 22 feet. I have been trying to figure out how to do this and very discouraged considering the luxury of space in my former 800 sq ft shop. I'll show this video to my wife ( she is concerned about my situation) . Very impressive, you have given me hope and inspiration. Thanks from Southern Oregon USA.
Very impressive work. 12 minutes. That would have taken me at least a day. 🤣🤣 Enjoy the new space!
I was thinking the same. But it's not his new space. It's his old (actual) workshop. 12 minutes videos, 12 hours editing, 12 years evolution.
Ha thank you - watch next week! 👍😁

Guess when you take it all down again...
@@GosforthHandyman Always watching! Wait, that sounded creepy.
🤣🤣😂
Who else is watching this during a lockdown and got suddenly inspired?
me, i get easly inspired
Might struggle to get materials though...
I just like to see others work. This shop is half the size of my coop apt.
That’s a beautiful workshop. Designed, well thought out, and the attention to detail. They say artwork can be stunning. This is on the same level. 👍🏻😎
Totally unnecessary levels of detail, a man after my own heart! Really enjoyed that video, it moved at the right speed to keep interest but include enough detail. Well done mate.
Inspiring stuff as I embark on a new workshop build in a corner of my own home! Thanks, I will watch this a few times as there are ideas here I can use. My workshop will be smaller though, as I don't have a garage to give up, just one end of my large hallway.
What a wonderful work! cheers! I had to do all of this on my tiny garage shop (2.4m x 5.4m x 2.3m) but was too lazy to paint etc
That was a great piece of editing and of course very interesting
Mate that door was lush, I'm gonna do that for mine now thanks for the inspiration 👍
Love your work! Great detail.in the process of doing the same with my garage. Battens and insulation mostly in. Door being varnished ( exterior door) and ceiling insulation and plasterboard after. Then install electrics. Glad to see i am on the right track !
Loved the tea and butty detail!
Great work. Inspirational!
Great job and well-executed - your skillset is very impressive. Learning a lot in 12 minutes - the Cladding the door oh man. Keep it up!
Wow! What an awesome project. I really want to convert "my side" of the garage to a workshop, but I am intimidated to get started. You make it look quite easy, but I know that your skill level is significantly higher than my own. Still, I'm inspired to at least do something and get started. Thank you very much for posting!
Wow! That's really impressive dude! You've given me a lot of ideas, as I'm about to convert mine, so Thank you! 😊
Nice work. I’m especially impressed with the handmade door!
Man that's a very nice workshop!
I only have a small shed, so i am quite jealous actually.. very impressed by all you hard labour.
Enjoy it now to the max my friend!!
Respect!
Man, you blew my brains out. First I saw this video and then I saw your taking it apart! Had to jump into reading to figure out that 'making it' is in fact a blast from the past.
Fantastic job building the door and the window!!! Very Nice!
Nice!! Love the thought you put into it. Great layout
Spectacular build. Thank you for sharing.
Fantastic.what a job you made.good workmanship
Fan-freaking-tastic! What an amazing job on the shop! Love it!
I have a true passion for diy , creations , experiments etc the things I could create in that garage 👌 ( great vid loads of work )
Amazing, loved the door glass
Great project, execution and attention to detail! Cheers!
Gezz, man. You just put the level so high... Awesome work.
Very impressive build and a joy to watch. I wish I could work at that pace haha. Well done.
Amazing work!
Thxs for sharing!
I think it's absolutely astounding just how much stuff you have managed to fit in there! 🤔
Stellar job mate 👍🏽
Thank you Bill! 👍
Excellent video and build Andy, some lovely memories of the shop to take with you into the new chapter. Cheers Karl
Cheers Karl! Indeed lots of happy memories - watch next week. 👍😀
Nice work. I have been doing that over the past five years!
Great job that's given me some ideas for my garage workshop. One small trick missed or didn't show on the video was putting mineral wool insulation between the door panels for extra sound absorption. You might have got an extra 3 dB sound reduction overall.
This is an impressive amount of work!
i think that this video shows how good you are!!! Although you compressed it to 12 minutes you can learn a lot!!! Thanks it was enjoying watching it!!!!
Thanks so much! You can't see all my mistakes when it's sped up. 👍😁
Superb work and video!
yes, great job, now look forward !!! thanks
Indeed - lots to do! 👍😀
Nice to see a UK built workshop. Thanks
You have the most impressive skill set I have seen. Thanks for the video.
It looks more impressive when I edit out my mistakes 🤣👍
Amazing work. About 30 brilliant little tips in there
Holy moly that is incredible! Thanks for sharing! Would love to have something even remotely as nice as that… but wow that must have been several months of effort!
Nice to see Frank's rail square hanging up
Great video. Makes it look so easy
What an amazing video. Thanks for sharing.
Was looking for something else on RUclips and found this video.
This is impressive and inspiration 🔥
At the start you said it was temporary built incase you ever moved. I bet whoever bought that house next will not want the workshop removed, it’s too good
You are the best dressed handyman I've ever seen.
your ideas are really helpful
First, great job! Second, looking at that shot at 1:21 with the storage and bikes. I would think a storage shed would be the solution for that stuff and then just make your shop the full garage. Either way, it looks great, you can get done what you want and that's the important part. Thanks for the vid and your hard work!
Nice set up love the lighting u did
Excellent job - I'll have to replay it in slow motion to figure out how to copy some of those ideas!
Incredible job, well done 👍🏻
The door build was awesome. Great job.
Incredible work!
A LOT of work! Well done
Awesome workshop, and great video
Nice work and skills! Pride in a vision 👏

Really enjoyed that. 👍Great job.
Thank you Mike! 👍👊
That was awesome to watch. So glad to see someone paying so much attention to insulating and soundproofing their space.
Anything worth doing is worth over doing!!! Nice video mate. Great choice of music and great editing.
Subbed sometime ago and watched this a few times , so envious it looks fantastic well done.
Stay safe regards from Wales
So......9 people were not impressed by this video. I'd love to see their workmanship and attention to detail for comparison 🤔. Thanks for posting this Andy. Stay safe and best of luck with the move.
Awesome job
Great video by a great handyman
Love this video. Especially as you achieve so much without a 20 sq mile workshop. I find myself watching this over & over.....
Thank you Ian - it was a great space! Anything bigger would be a nightmare to heat. 👍😀
wow what an incredible video, the music was great too. Fav part prob building that door from absolute scratch
Thank you! The door was fun. There's a longer version of that on my channel somewhere. 👍😂
Seriously, good job!
Cool Job mate!
Sweet! Nice job!
Grandísimo trabajo. un saludo desde españa. Muy bueno. A greeting from Spain.
Great video Love the ideas thanks for sharing
I like the way you say at the beginning: 'I will build it temporary in case we have to move!'
Great video sir

“Impressive” is an understatement… :-) You deserve to be justifiably proud dude!
At 73 as a new woodworker I’m still trying to figure out how to make a butt work...… LOl
in awe of your skill set! Les
I normally use the toilet, how are you trying?
Cool video! Glad you stopped for lunch!
Good job. I also need a similar workshop. But for now I will work in what I have, probably something will be built next year. Best regards.
Nice job, well done 👍🏻
Great work mate! Real nice!
Thank you! 👍👊
Didn't realise it was in a garage, thought you had a massive workshop.. 👍👍
the soundtrack...i'm having flashbacks :D 2 thumbs up
Was about to say I’ve never seen such good craftsmanship from an American and then I realised that actually you live/originate about 15 miles away! Got a new subscriber in me purely for the level of attention you give to your work
Thank you Sam! 👍👊
I wish I had a quarter of your skill fella that was absolutely fantastic. Take care and stay safe. Tom.
10:08 For your "track lighting", do you have a video or link on that? I think I'd love to do "rectangular track lighting" for my shop.
