I wish she’d release a recording of this. It’s one of my favorite performances ever!
Taylor’s songwriting is what anchors & enables her to transition between different genres and still produce a superb song. Ever since we’ve seen the rock versions of this song & “I Knew You Were Trouble” during her 1989 tour, we’ve been wanting her to release a rock album. Hopefully she would consider a rock album next!

So happy to see you becoming a Swiftie, and having the courage to admit it, lol. I am a 49 year old mom of young adults and just became a Swiftie earlier this year after the Rep Tour videos sent me down the extensive rabbit hole of her discography (was too busy raising kids to pay any attention to pop culture earlier in her career). I highly recommend you react to the whole 1989 tour, the whole Rep tour, and her Grammy Museum performances. Welcome to the Swiftie community!
I've been to most of her tours and she's just better live than in studio. She doesn't have that many rock like songs, but the ones she has are awesome. Like "Haunted", "Better Than Revenge" and "State Of Grace".
Something that's awesome about her music is that us dudes can also relate to her lyrics.
Izzy from Gun's & Roses told the story that his daughters never wanted to learn guitar until they started to listen to Taylor Swift.
You should react also for the original version of this song, just to see how different it is from this live performance. Original video is absolutely adorable! This live version is fantastic, but also original one is great!
See! You can hear the punk rock in this. There are other types of rock she's done in her concert tours. We want that rock album dude lol. What I like about her albums is that they're like different genres of music.
And yes, she's got 2 indie albums that have broken records. Which is funny now cuz looking back at her comment, "with some indie record that's much cooler than mine" she hadn't put out those indie records yet lol. This song came out 6 years BEFORE her indie stuff.
And I agree with Starbuck1234!'s comment where they suggested you listen to Cornelia Street live performance. It's another way of seeing Taylor perform with her guitar but acoustically.
I personally would like to also add in another live performance. It's called "I Knew You Were Trouble" live from her 1989 World Tour. It's done completely different from the original song. It gave it a more dark, haunting feel to it.
what might be funnier-- she started dating Jake a couple weeks AFTER she sold over 1.2 million copies (in the US) of her 3d album. She would have still been doing the album promos when they started dating. I'd guess him not listening to her music was a pretty sore spot. Oh, and I think of all of her music as sort of indie, even if the label didn't sell it that way.

I look at the daydream of Speak Now (wedding scene) to the daydream of I Bet You Think About Me (Red, TV) as bookends . . . . . . . even though the first song was before they dated.

Lastly, if you're interested in seeing the "Sultry Swift" version of I Knew You Were Trouble, live from the same 1989 tour, but before doing that, react to the original music video... and maybe do them back to back in one blind reaction at once... now that would really be something. Taylor Swift has done a couple of movies and has been in an episode of CSI, a crime show.
Definitely do the MV of it. She also did a live rock version of Trouble, which also has a MV.
love everything about this! im a total swiftie, but i wasnt converted until Lockdown happened and then at 35 my "education" began lol.... but aside from that can i say that you having Mark Knopfler (Dire Straits) in the background has me sold on everything youre doing lol. Romeo & Juliet is one of my top 5 fave songs of ALL TIME
She always does a spectacle type concert; elevators make the costume changes a lot faster, and she'll change her look several times. Also, when she plays piano, it will be lifted up from underneath. Guests will arrive that way, too. fwiw, she has used 6 and 12 string acoustics, ukulele, ganjo (6 string banjo), and pianos (or a keyboard synth) on different songs. You would also like her AMA performance of I Did Something Bad (2018) --- same album as ...Ready For It? You'll like Style for the guitars. State of Grace from Red (2012) would be good, too. She really isn't about genre -- if you get into it, just listen to the storytelling, and don't take everything too seriously. She lets her sense of humor out pretty often.
If you like metal music, You have to do Haunted by Taylor Swift. Its her most rock song and almost metal (Evanescence vibe). Or Better than revange its punk pop (Avril Lavigne/ Paramore vibe).

I loved Taylor since Tim McGraw but got busy raising kids and career. I've just came back, kids grown, I have time, now.
The funny part is, that the original version is as cheesy poppy as it can get. Transforming this into a rock version shows how versatile she is in her writing. I wish she would release some rock versions of songs that have def. the potential to be awesome rock songs. Maybe she will think about it in the future. At least it would us rock guys not feel so awkward anymore liking her stuff.
Plz react to her I Knew You Were Trouble Live from the 1989 World Tour.. it's another Rock Performance of Taylor it's also the best version of that song.. better than the OG version.
