      I will always find the time to at least watch anime. I would watch the on-goings when I come home after work and then marathon a few series on week ends if I feel like it. Or sometime play games (and yes, I have a HUGE backlogs)
      However, I don't regret having work. I would regret it more if I can't buy an anime figure or games that I really like.

    For someone who often calls herself an idiot, she has a very good head above her shoulders and is raised well by a chill family. She has a balance of her father's talents and carefree attitude, and her mother's hardworking ethic. She's given out quite a bit of these wisdom bombs despite being among the youngest of the agency. The advice obviously won't apply to everyone, but her perspective is more often than not, interesting and noteworthy.

    I've stopped college for over a year now, and probably would still be until everything goes back to normal. I didn't want to finish college feeling like I accomplished nothing significant academically because of how shitty online classes are. But I have more reasons why I had to stop, and it's more than just "I don't like online classes."
    Matsuri saying this is reassuring at least.

      I am outside the norm here, but I also stopped going to college for a time.
      Calculus kicked my ass the first time I was in college and by the time I had taken the class several times, my state's tuition assistance ran out. I dropped out for 3 years and got a job (never, ever work for the US government at any level, btw)... got promoted to full employee, technically put in charge of other employees, and entrusted with tons more responsibility. The micromanagement then shot through the roof, and all this with no raise.
      At that point I quit on the spot, without a 2-weeks notice, cleaned out my desk, and blocked all the proper phone numbers. Burning a bridge never felt so good and I still don't regret it today. I went back to school the next semester and graduated a few years later. Now I'm at my dream job doing what I went to school for.
      It's ok to take your time, if you have the means. If you don't have the means, you can work something out while you decide what you want to do. It took being treated like garbage after 3 years for me to finally decide that life is too damn short for this shit and I'm going to do what's best for me. Good luck on your journey

    It should be case to case right? Especially if you and your fam is barely scraping by. Gotta put the pedal to the metal. In the end, it's still better to learn the lesson that "you should've taken some days easy" instead of "you should've worked hard".
    The latter is the harder pill to swallow.

      I agree that it's case-to-case dependent. Those struggling with poverty don't have the luxury of options. I don't agree with your conclusion though. There are many cases where people have overworked themselves and caused lasting mental and physical damage to themselves that affected their long-term productivity.

    • @vallecend6855
      @vallecend6855 3 года назад +3

      At the end of the day, it's better to take a one day rest, or a month rest, or even a year rest if needed if it means that the next year you'd be in a much better form than you were before. Pushing yourself too hard just to get through one year without thinking about the years that come after that is as good as working overtime while having a fever, you'd get the job done for now, but you'll end up feeling burnt both physically and mentally which would instead make it worse in the longer run.
      So I'd say we reserved the "you should've worked hard" to the unbearable people with severe victim mentality instead of those who actually needed some rest. Life is a marathon after all, not a sprint, therefore it should be treated as one.

    I understand what she's saying and agree with the message that you shouldn't overwork yourself for something you get no satisfaction or happiness out of and that it's okay to take breaks, but I think it's important to recognize that there's a difference between 'taking a break from something because you can't actually gain anything from it in your current situation' and 'not doing something because you don't feel like it'. Not going to school for a while because of your personal situation or your mental health or quitting your job because you don't get any fulfillment from it is one thing, but something like not going to school just because you don't want to for example is just entitlement (Which I'm not saying is what Matsuri was doing, I'm sure there was a reason for her not going to school for an entire year).

    as someone who on average skipped 180 hours per year out of 800 these past 3 years, i agree lmfao. As long as you pass the exams and manage, even if just barely, its fine. You dont have to be a good student in the slightest, just passing is alright too, at least where im from cuz in the workplace they wont give a fuck what kinda grades you got. All that matters is your work experience (from summer or part time jobs), connections you have with people who work for companies and wether you at least passed school. Tho ppl shouldnt skip school cuz its boring if you have friends there and if you got at least a few chill teachers or teachers who give you grades objectively. In my case teachers drove me insane and i realized I will always get worse grades than what i got on my exam or how much i tried, so i just stopped trying and my grades havent even changed lmao. I got B's on almost every exam and they gave me D's at the end of the semester and couldnt even give me a reason and telling my parents was never an option cuz the teachers would have treated me even more like shit. Its become way better since i started skipping
