I love the authentic pronunciation and the microtones.
Thank you so much @susannalevin1575! Feels great to know people like you are noticing all the details we put into this work. ❤
Holy Ancient Sounds made New. Wonderful.
the pronunciations are not authentic. if you want authentic pronunciations look at how the Temanim (Yemenites) pronounce Hebrew words.
@@OhrShmuel Totally agree that Yemenite pronunciation is unique and beautiful in the way it differentiates between each consonant and vowel sound! In this project we tried to present each piece with a pronunciation that matches where the melody comes from. Since this melody is from Iraq, we chose that pronunciation. If you listen to the Yemenite piyyut
"Kiriyah Yefeifiyah" from this album, you will hear the Yemenite pronunciation. open.spotify.com/track/1F2lt2GJbXPtxSHL4hU3ZE?si=38d9f01ec76c4de8

Arab andalusian song in Hebrew ❤
Like it, but Q: there are verses at 1:38, ~2:38, ~4:20 I don't recognize? Translation? Source? Thanks & חזקים וברוכים!
Hello David - you have good ears! Adon Olam is a very old poem, with an unknown author, thought to have been written in the 14th century, if not earlier. Because it's so old, it exists in a few variations. We recorded the version that has appeared in Sephardi prayer books for hundreds of years. It has 5 extra lines as compared with the Ashkenazi version you may be used to.
Here is the full translation:
Lord of the world who reigned before any creature came to be
By Your will all things were made and then You were called our King.
And when all has ceased to exist you alone, revered, will reign
You have been, and You still are, and in your majesty You will be.
You are One - there is no other who might ever approach Your grandeur.
Without beginning and without end, strength and dominion belong to You.
Beyond imagining, beyond measure, unchanging and beyond compare
Set apart, yet utterly whole, and wondrous in Your might and power.
You are my God: my Redeemer lives! You are a Rock in my hour of despair.
You are my banner, You are my refuge, You are my sustenance when I call.
You are the healer and You are the balm, You keep watch and come to my aid.
And into Your hand I place my soul when I sleep and when I wake.
As my spirit dwells in my body, God is with me - I will not fear.
In your abode my soul will rejoice, for our Redeemer is on the way,
And in the Temple, on that day we will sing. Amen, amen, the awesome Name.
Thanks so much for your interest in this project. Happy listening!
Wishion accomplished!! Thanks for the informative reply, שבוע טוב@@ybattat
