    What really makes a difference for me is having a light/moderate workout hours prior to the skate session ofc at the same day, a good blood flow so to speak. Could be a muscle workout or walking or biking.
    That gives me such a boost later on skates.

    • @rerollinginline
      @rerollinginline  2 года назад +2

      Yes, I hear you on that. Most of my city skates are early morning so my warmup is just my first few lines. I also have to balance eating just the right amount to have energy, but not be full. Drink enough to be hydrated, but not too quickly that I have to go to the bathroom. But that’s just how first-thing-in-the-morning physical activity goes. Early morning works best for having the least amount of pedestrians and traffic. It also fits my schedule best as well.
      My non-city skates I have more room to do as you said and make sure I feel good before going.

      Thanks you, that's very much appreciated! I would love to see what these lines look like from a different vantage point. The 360 cam is amazing for self-filming, but it's obviously still limited. I do frequently think about different ways I could capture footage, even just different angles with the 360 cam. I (obviously) tend to stick to a very straightforward style of following me. There's a bunch of tricks you can do with the 360 cam, but I like to keep the vibe as close to what the skating feels like as possible. Would be cool to mess with slightly more cinematic stuff though. I'll keep it in mind. Thanks for watching and commenting :)

I've js been skating at this park near me and like I'm pretty confident in skating there but not in roads or sidewalks - haven't tried any parking lots cuz all of them are pretty busy with cars around me.

    Happy to see you back and feeling good! I'm looking to get a pair of FR1 Deluxe's myself and was wondering, do you have anything else in your setup for comfort? I've heard of people putting gel insoles in the boot and was curious if you had anything similar?

    • @uu3903
      @uu3903 2 года назад +1

      Every foot is unique and the majority of people don't even have matching feet. The Deluxes come with a high end liner as you likely know and FRs are known for being roomy. Not much use for suggestions until you try them for yourself. They might feel like heaven out of the box. I skate Powerslide Next, which come with rubbish insoles. I replaced them with squishy orthotics off eBay ($6/pair) and now it feels like different skates.

    • @rerollinginline
      @rerollinginline  2 года назад +1

      Thank you! I don't have anything for comfort, but I do have a SuperFeet yellow carbon insole to help my foot fill out the boot a little more. I put the insole underneath the liner. This is because my skates were a little looser fitting than I wanted after breaking in. Waxed laces, all the way to the top of the liner, removing the shock absorber and adding the insole has got them into pretty good shape for now. They're comfortable and fit pretty tight now.
      Skate fit is completely personal because everyone's feet are different. Even the same general width or length in two people's feet could still have skates feel very different. Everyone also has a different idea of how much they want to tolerate discomfort during break-in etc.
      Unfortunately, finding skates that fit your feet perfectly is on the the hardest things about skating. So I'd just see how they fit and feel first, before thinking about doing anything to them. Also remember the liners can take like 10-20 hrs to really break in.

      @@uu3903 Hello, I own both an FR1 80 and an FR1 310 deluxe. The boot for the Deluxe is notably more narrow than the normal FR, not sure if they changed their shells recently to be more narrow or if the Deluxe models are just more narrow. So definitely be careful on that end.

    • @rerollinginline
      @rerollinginline  2 года назад +1

      Thanks for watching! Yeah, I feel faster on my 90s at times just because I'm more nimble. Speed is always relative anyway. I'm not skating for time or efficiency. I just wanna get around quickly. This bursty and highly variable style of skating doesn't need a setup with a fast top speed. Being faster to accelerate and change directions easier often times mean I'm actually faster in that regard. I love my 4x100s, but I love my 4x90s too. I'm loving being back on the 90s.

    • @rerollinginline
      @rerollinginline  2 года назад +1

      @@luislima8798 good guess! My feet are 265mm and in most skates that’s 8-9 US. That’s the exact size listed of my FR1 Deluxe Intuition: 40.5-41.5 EU / 8-9 US. That’s another reason I like 90. These Endless 90 frames have a wheel base of 276mm, which is longer than my foot so I still feel additional front-back stability. Some folks may need to go up to 4x100 to feel that stability increase.

    I was just wondering how many wheels do you go through per year let's say. Last time I was on rollerblades was when I was a kid, now I'm seriously considering buying a pair for everyday transport. I'm just afraid of the steep learning curve. I usually get stuff like this fairly fast. Right now I skate around (when you skate one leg get's more buff than the other and I hate that).I'm fairly advanced at it but inlines are scarier since you can't bail haha

    • @rerollinginline
      @rerollinginline  2 года назад +1

      If I'm skating as much as I want to be (about 5 times/week) then I'll go through a set of wheels in 2-3 months depending on what I'm doing. One thing to consider for skating and every day transport is the route you have to take. Though if you can do you route on a skateboard, I'd imagine it would be even easier on skates. I've seen people pick it up pretty quickly if they have other sports experience that require balance and are somewhat athletic. Your point about not being able to bail is very valid though. Learning to stop effectively in all speeds and situations takes time and skill to get good at.

      I use Insta360 Studio on my Mac laptop to reframe and export from the raw 360 footage. I import those reframed videos to iMovie most of the time for the final edit. Sometimes Adobe Premier if iMovie can’t do what I need, but that usually isn’t the case. At least not for this style of flow skate with music.

      Thanks! Lol, I was getting over as far as I could so the runner would feel comfortable as we passed each other. This is why I say one-footed stability is a core skill necessary for this kind of skating though! Those cracks are the deadliest things I encounter. I've almost fallen for that specific reason more than any other reason when city skating. This particular instance was dicy with bike racks on one side, and then I hopped over that cobblestone patch as well because I felt like rolling it with no notice might have been worse. Literally keeps me on my toes :)
      I might whip out the premium liners in a few weeks. They're essentially brand new, so they're not broken in. I didn't want to have to break in a new liner at the same time I was still letting the ankle continue healing.
