  • Thanks to the inspiration of ‪@ProjectFarm‬ I decided to try an experiment by ceramic coating one of my solar panels and connecting it to my Bluetti AC200MAX. Coating the panels gave results I didn't expect. #solarpower #solarpanel #solarpanelcleaning #bluetti

That's easy work so props, I've seen some folks win with a ceramic coat spray. Not that it'd be worth the effort for you, but couldn't hurt for as cheap as a bottle is if you ever care to try.

Ceramic Should be sprayed with no sun hitting the panel in the shade for no streaks and more sun to penitrate the panel. Clay bar should have been first step before the ceramix to remove contamints to give a base foundation for the ceramic to last longer. With out a clay bar 6 to 8 months best. Def a great idea on the panel. Good content.. i recomened a true 9h hardness caramic that last 3 to 5 years one application and done. Good work.

Here in Texas, my panels needs washing(needs some elbow grease) once a month. Thanks for your suggestion, it looks promising and I'll do that. I just subscribed.

Very much appreciated! Wow, once a month would definitely be rough and a big time commitment. I'm hopeful that the coating helps, but it'll definitely be put to the test when the farmers around here plow their fields in the spring. Thanks for watching & your comment 👍😁

You tested using the most crude method you could but know that UV is not what PV uses to produce power anyways. I agree though, the only thing that Ceramic coating will do is help your panels anyways...
Only thing you could do is use a better product. Most quality glass coatings can last 7-10 years

What is the point? We've had our panels out for two years and they're like new.

Both of my properties are in agricultural areas where the dust is thick & sticks. People who I've talked to that have solar panels over 4 years old end up washing them by hand every year (having to scrub). Over time the panels have their original coating flake/baked off by the sun, snow, and dirt. After the original coating is gone the dirt sticks real easy (just like a car as the clear coat ages). So the point of the coating it to make yearly cleaning easier. Instead of having to scrub, I can just spray off the dirt. Without the cleaning the folks around here lose 20% power generation.

@@RUFit4Survival thank you so much for that explanation. It makes perfect sense.

Can you just clean them and then coat them with rainx?

It has been said to never use Rain-x on solar panels snce Rain-x is acetified alcohol. YOU make that call, NOT meeeeee.
