I remember this one (long time ago...) , ah, at least they tried something interesting... I regret they didn't manage to get some voice acting etc... Even if it is really the Episode 3 "the most accurate based on what we know" (taking off directly after Ep 2, the Borealis, Arctic, Aperture, Portal tech in the borealis as the "secret"...), it is very short, and having Alyx and Barney with no interaction at all with the player, made it a bit of a disappointment :/ Still, I liked it because it tried to give us what we're waiting for since... 10 hellish years...
I think they are saving hl 3 for their ultimate trump card. They need a something advanced, revolutionary to come along with hl3. Currently they dont so there wont be hl3 for now.

This is ancient, but nice that you played it finally. :) I think the mod shows that a HL3 or EP3 built with Source Vanilla assets is an unsatisfying experience, I'd love for someone to create an EP3 mod using Dota 2 engine or even Portal 2 engine. I do love though how the mod creator tried to recreate the vista from the EP3 concept art of the Borealis in the cavern, lodged in ice. The plotline was just too simple and nothing new however, just blowing up the ship, escaping and finish. When an actual plot for such a premise should of been battling the Advisors, using the Borealis to go to Xen, seeing the Combine Overworld, just... all those talented modders out there, if you can see this, consider these ideas when making fan installments, eh? ;)
If hl3 comes out I'll probably have a kid or two by then and hopefully they'll get to experience source like I did growing up as a child in middle school..
I feel that once Half-Life 3 will release, all the hype will be on that moment when an official trailer or something comes out, and then once it's been out for a little bit, people will completely forget about all the hype that it had before.

Actually Half Life 2 was different because it was Beta and things change. It was too dark and some of the things they included didn't make sense. The 'someone hacked it' was just a man named Garry creating Garry's Mod with the Half Life 2 things, so Valve got them swatted.

I start playing it, then I feel addicted to it, and when steam sale arrived I brought Half-Life 2 Episode 1 and 2 immediatly, after I finished playing Ep 1 and 2. I buy Half-Life 1, Half-Iife: Opposing Force and Half-Life: Blue Shift. Half-Life become part of me now, Half-Life is my favorite game series now. CSGO isn't ran by valve, but a third party company. Valve just gets most of the money from it
