I'm from Chaves (the town near Vidago) and I have to congratulate you for showing the best of what´s in the region of Trás-os-Montes and for promoting tourism in the interior of our country, which is so beautiful but is being forgotten.
The thing about the Portuguese royal family visiting the hotel several times it's not true (or you misunderstood what you were told). It's true that the royal family *visited Vidago* (the spa village), but *not the Vidago Palace Hotel* - because the hotel didn't exist yet. In fact, the hotel was built after a suggestion by king D. Carlos, but he died (killed) before it was finished. True, the new king (D. Manuel II) was invited to its inauguration but by coincidence that would happen on the 5th of October 1910; they even had invitations and menus (written in French, as it was fashionable) announcing the king's presence. But on the 4th a Republican revolution started in Lisbon; and on the 5th the Republic was declared and the royal family left Portugal to the exile. The Vidago Palace Hotel was, then, inaugurated on the 6th of October, obviously without the royal family.
The stairs scene imitating Titanic is hilarious hahaha. Amelia, don't forget there are space for two on that floating door in the end. Amazing video. Very pro. Thank you both, nice Danish/Portuguese couple.

This video reminds me of the artistry behind the Belmond Reid's Palace video in Madeira and I love the Titanic reference! In my opinion, the one thing that puts the Belmond above this one is the ocean and the view!! Very well done so kudos!!

Amazing. I have really loved the videos that you have created while in Northern Portugal. But this last one... The level of food envy and accommodation envy, the Palace was beautiful. Must be so expensive to stay there, but it looks like it is more of an experience then just a normal hotel stay.

Finally! After thousands of kilometers, you finally reached Chaves. I hope you enjoyed your visit. You said in a comment that you didn't had the time to go to Chaves, but you kinda did. Since Vidago is part of the Chaves municipality. Still, I believe that one day you will visit what it is, to me, the most beautiful city in trás os montes, even tho my opinion is biased.
