Full Skip is 2 full tie straps between alternate cutters. Semi Skip is 1 tie strap between alternate cutters followed by 2 tie straps between alternate cutters. I am just writing this to help someone. This video was very good. Thank you.
Good reason(s) to thoroughly clean the bar grooves whenever the chain if off and to oil the grooves before replacng the chain. I have never seen the roller tool before; good idea.
I really enjoyed this video. Been at this a while, and here i am learning. Also, i love the Westcoast Saw gage. Thank you, Sir! All the best from Indiana!
The beauty of filing on top of the depth gauge is that you don't risk accidentally filing into the cutter, on the sharp side of the cutter. If you touch the back side of the cutter is not important.

Skip chain is used a lot in America, for cutting stumps of large trees, gives the chain time to remove sawdust from cut, especially horizontal cuts.
Very nice video 👍
Thank you for your knowledge

You can use a bit of flat metal and hit with nylon hammer

I use the WCS 3/8th gauges. I use a few of their products - pretty good.

Can you tell me where you buy these? I would like to contact them and see if they will ship me a full set. They aren't available in the US any longer.
Hi I purchased them at Stihl shop in Australia.
