She was the queen mother or something in the crown so she had to sound British for the role. She can definitely pull of the high society British accent without flaw but I would like to see her as a Russian czarina speaking with a Russian accent and in the language that would fit perfectly for her. She would have made and excellent cercie in GOT or Katlyn Stark in the TV series on HBO. Shes definitely versatile as an actress and she like David is intelligent and independent and knows what shes looking for but shouldn't pass for a villain or a protagonist. Malfecient portrayed by Jolie worked well but wouldn't suit Gillian. She would make for a good cercie in GOT OR Targarian in the right context but shes more like priestly in Devil wears Prada. Would love to see more movies with her as the lead shes a great actress. top finest along with Beth Broderick Nicolette Sheridan Heather Locklear Morgan Fairchild and Susan Blakely. Younger actresses today couldn't hold a candle to these women.

Yeah. Gillian even said it herself. When the X Files started, David was the more bankable star, so he got more money. Then when the show was a massive hit, Gillian had the power to negotiate for fair pay. There’s nothing nefarious about that.
However, her having to fight for equal pay during the revival was ridiculous. Without her, there is no show. A 50/50 split was the only answer.
