    I think the Pod Go is very well designed. Those restrictions were obviously selected to cover a vast majority of usable tones. The thing I'm missing personally is an extra block for dual-delay effects. When you have two delay, you only have two blocks left to choose between modulation, boost, comp or reverb.

    • @nilsonsalazar87
      @nilsonsalazar87 2 года назад +1

      You can try to force use the pedals blocks and the send/receive loop, just editing a preset in a plain text editor, i've made with a lot of presets, and now i can add a looper or watever i want in this "free" blocks without having to sacrifice another pedals. It's like jailbreak your Pod Go.

    does it free up DSP to use your amp out and plug into an actual amp?
    or are the amps loaded into the preset being "loaded" and taking up DSP even if they're switched off for the time being?

    I've been using the Pod Go + 112 Power Cab for about a year and love it. The only issues I've experienced is not being able to do certain combinations of fx because of DSP limitations and when using a lot of delay and switching snapshots it often makes alien spaceship sounds when going from clean to lead with lots of reverb and delay.
    I wish I could get just one more fx block without needing an external pedal or switch out the eq block.

      @@sheltonallen4100 Yes but you have to make sure your presets output is strong enough. Jason Sadites has talked about this on his channel and others too.

      Yes, I use the Orban Loudness meter. I also tried the YouLean loudness meter but ultimately liked Orban better. I've never had an issue with powercab volume after using the meter. Also, all of my presets match volume levels so I don't have to sweat when changing to a different preset. Love Jason's channel btw. 😊👍🎸

    I get it JC, but the DSP limitations are really frustrating on the Pod Go - workarounds or not. It's a shame really, because it does get in the way of experimenting with whatever combinations. Nice sounds, none-the-less, so I guess mine is a moot point for most people, but for me the Pod Go wasn't it so it had to go.

      I wonder if it could be that in the future those semi fixed blocks get "unfixed"?

    • @Stefan-
      @Stefan- 3 года назад

      @@johnnathancordy They also really should add one or two extra free blocks and let the user decide if they want to use less "expensive" amps and effects to be able to use even more blocks, this is regardless of unlocking any fixed blocks which i think they should also do. I would also like to be able to use a second amp in one of the free block so that you can switch between a very clean amp and a fairly heavy distorted metal sounding amp with snapshots.

      @@johnnathancordy Yeah, i know about the Badonk, but im not sure i like it that much, there are much better like the Revv and PV Panama, i like the 5150 sound. I guess that almost all other amps have to limited range for both clean and heavy distorsion, which is the two sounds i use, Fender twin clean and 5150 distortion. I dont own the POD Go or any other Line6 modeler at least yet, but have been considering the POD Go and have tested Helix native (trial), but havent tested all amps yet.

    Just jail break your Pod Go and free up to 3 more blocks … doesn’t give any more dsp but is way more flexible in how and what you set up a preset with and choosing the lower dsp amps etc with more free blocks gives you a shit ton more creative flexibility with presets … its a learning process like with all modelers etc 😎👍

    Context is important. The PodGo is meant to be used by new players in thier bedrooms. Most likely with headphones or a small inexpensive amp. It is a tool that allows young players hear what certain effects are and what they do. The semi fixed chain keeps them from getting so far out of the box that their chain is not usable. Once they get to the point where they begin to understand the limitations they are likely ready to move up to a more powerful unit.

      Nonsense. I’ve been playing for over 30yrs, much of that time using fancy pedalboards and valve amps. Once I got the Pod Go most of the pedals and amps ended up being sold. New, bedroom players who want to get an idea of what different amps and fx sound like without spending a fortune would be better off with one of the many excellent small modelling amps that can be had for £100-200.

    At the risk of being a troll - aren't all your play-ins intros actually a bit of a cheat??? They are beautiful, don't get it twisted, BUT there's a backing track. Is that backing track looper on the Pod Go, or is it some super-dooper looper made from unobtainium mined only on the Planet Zogg?
