    We get a hands on look at the PodGo from Line 6. We'll take you through everything from un-boxing to first power up, registering your device for warranty & free updates, to updating firmware, trying a factory preset and creating our own preset.
    A commonly asked question, does the PodGo compare to Helix as far as tonality? I can honestly say it DOES. Although a different animal from Helix (no Variax input and lack of multiple sends & returns) it still fulfills a need at an awesome price-point.
    An incredible offering from Line 6 for not only those discovering the brand for the 1st time, but to those that have, own and use multiple products within the line.
    Well thought out, the expected easy & inviting user interface, build quality, yet most important TONE!
    Purchase the PodGo right now from our Amazon Affiliate Link.

    Just received my Pod Go and since I’m a “Old Schooler” from the early 70’s with a Marshall half stack, Strat and a wah plugged in and turned up, this is all really new to me. I’ve watched this video and wanted to say THANK YOU…! This is by far the absolute best instructional video I’ve seen on anything…!! It’s really helped me get the basics down. I wanted to see if you have some additional videos on the SNAPSHOT part, the guides 8 octopuses and 8 tentacles each equal 64, is fine, except I’m still trying to figure this out. Also I want to learn about the IR’s as well. I keep looking.. Again great video and many many Thanks from this Old Rocker Dude…✌️

    Nice and simple overview Erick. Looking forward to seeing what you can do with it and ho you will try and minimize some of the limitations it has compared to the full Helix floor or LT. I wish this had come out a few years ago so I didnt have to deal with the Firehawk FX with no updates or support. Ive since upgraded to the LT but for hobbyists and non-pros on a budget the PodGo looks like a great unit to get your feet wet in the Helix ecosystem

      @@musicgearnetwork Yes, indeed. I'm currently running a vintage POD 2.0 / Floor Board into the EFX return of a DSL1C in low power mode. It actually sounds pretty good to overcome the 1C's rather lacking tone and have some grit when you get the output volume on the POD just right. It makes for a pleasing platform at volumes that my wife can tolerate. I'm strongly considering the POD GO as an upgrade for the same configuration, improved DAW options and even a direct FOH gig rig.

    Couple quick questions. Unit being delivered on SAT, but on my head start from previous post, a couple questions PLS. 1) do you also have to download the Driver? I did install the updater c1.28 and the Edit 2.0. 2) is the Updater utility you discuss around the 10:30 mark, the same as the Updater? Thanks! I'm also gonna plug the board into an amp along with my Desktop.

But trying to get a head start! so a couple questions ----1) I assume I can download all I need now before I get the unit. 2) when ready to load all to the unit, and also work on my first pre-set like you did, I also assume that I connect the unit to my computer, and then also plug my GTR into it as well, so I can HEAR what I'm editing and adjusting on the sound side. 3) also guessing I''ll have to hear it by hooking up a pair of my headphones. Thanks.....Good Video, and especially that you did not RUSH through the install portion!

    I'm going to say what I did after error messages. My computer said I didn't have the app. So after you go to the download page and select "pod go" "all software" and your system. Hit go. It loads another page of many different download options. Scroll to the very bottom, then up one. To line 6 edit version 1.10. Hit get download. Then accept terms. The app should appear on your computer. Double click...it says error the code execution cannot proceed. So you need to download- "microsoft visual c++ 2010 redistributable package (x86)" type that exact quote in google search. The 1st thing that comes up should be it. Click on it. Language select. Download and install. Then click back on your pod go edit app and it should open....that's what I did anyway.

    You may want to update this video. I just got a Pod Go and it was very difficult to figure where or how to start installing the software/firmware. The manual says to start Pod Go Edit and it will instruct how to install. Well it didn't. The kicker is you need drivers installed first but there is nothing that explains how to do that. Luckily I found the Line 6 forum page that had a link on how to install the editor with drivers but it was an old version. I installed it anyway then went to the software update page and (again) downloaded the latest version. This time it worked and I was able to update to 1.30.0 on both Pro Edit and the Pod Go. It took me over an hour to figure this out!!

    Plugging pod go to the return side of a real guitar amp, using the pod go’s amp sim but turning cab sim off, does it make any difference if the guitar amplifier is a solid state or tube amp? I have a feeling that the sound will be do processed that it doesn’t matter but would appreciate the feedback of anyone who has tried this setup.
    I am considering buying a pod go and possibly save some $$$ on the amp.

    • @musicgearnetwork

      Hey there! Great question. Nope you would not require a preamp. You could do one of 2 things. You could either run 1/4" TRS to XLR cables out of the unit to the board, or go 1/4" out to a DI BOX and from there out to the board. Depending on where you are playing and if they don't have a monitor mix for you, you could send 1 side of the output to the board and the other to something like Line 6 Powercab for your personal monitor. Hope this helps!

    I really like the global settings you did. Have you a video about global EQ or better, availables preset EQ? That would be useful for your audience...

    Hi Eric , following your install direction thanks. Having some issues with downloading edit and update for some reason. I'm using an old version of windows like 8. Do you know why I am not seeing on far right side the block that word Public I see beta and Archival to check off? not sure if thats my problem. I see icons for both edit and update on desktop, but when I click update update icon it just gives me a blank page no option to check the podgo hence going further. Thanks in advance for your help .

    20:55 Hello could anyone tell me if there is a pedal that reproduces this sound? I mean one of those little ones. Thank you.

    • @musicgearnetwork
      @musicgearnetwork  4 года назад +1

      Even a cheap chorus will get you somewhat close to the sound. It's technically pitch detune, but chorus will get you in the wheelhouse.

      Here is a great bundle of 10 presets that will get you some great rock sounds and some nice clean too. A lot of my presets really get the good 80's tone. Hopefully these will help you. line6helixpresets.com/product/the-podgo-starter-kit/

      @musicgearnetwork  4 года назад +1

      Hey there, thank you SO much for your purchase. That is a good idea. However until I can get to the video, if you email, I will send you a VERY helpful document provided to us via Line 6, that will make it very easy to get Marketplace presets onto your device. I will email you today. Contact me at info@thehelixhour.com
