Band on the Run dwarfs any album that Lennon ever made post-Beatles. McCartney recorded a lot of crap, no doubt - but so did Lennon. Band on the Run, in my opinion, remains the best, most cohesive and enduring, enjoyable album by any of the solo Beatles.
Plastic Ono Band and Imagine are DWARFED by Band on the Run. Ummmm. Think Not! Lennon's first 2 albums will still be critically acclaimed in 100 years time. Band on the Run? Maybe not.

I don't know why they're bitching about "Ram". It's probably my favorite post-Beatles McCartney album.
