Now that men have been given control of female spaces in New Zealand, what do we do from here?

- When we have policies in New Zealand which allow any man who says he's a woman to have free and unfettered access to women's and girls' spaces and sports, the control of those spaces and sports has effectively been handed to all men. Even if most men won't invade our spaces, the choice is in men's hands.
And just to clarify, I may have used the expression 'storm in a teacup in the grand scheme of things', but I do NOT think this is a trivial issue. This is huge issue for women and girls, and the lives we get to lead, or don't get to lead.

Parents that do speak up at school are reported to Social Services for hate speech. For attempting to protect children. For asking questions: have teachers read and understood Keeping Children Safe in Education? Understood Safeguarding policies? What third party providers go into schools or provide resources? I had a weird experience a few years back, just after menopause.
Coming out of a loo cunbicle a tiny child with Mum said, "What is that man doing in here",

There are those who are opposed to allying with Christians on this matter, for various reasons which I won’t go into here, and I have pushed back on that. I realise that Christians and non-Christians don’t agree on everything, but in this we most certainly do.

I'm Muslim and I can assure you women do NOT have half the value of men. It's an erroneous urban myth. There is a legal concept in civil law where two women might be required to give evidence, either in opposition or in support of one man. That's because contracts were often verbal with witnesses, and because men and women typically did not associate socially they could not share accord about the agreement. The women can socialise together and remind each other of their witness.
Muslims are very clear that there is a distinction between men and women and that we are partners, but with different needs and requirements. We support womens' rights to private, safe spaces. These matters have been addressed by our Sharia. That is, even effeminate men are not allowed to share women's spaces, even if they have no sexual interest. In addition, we do not allow men to dress as women or vice versa. This is considered haram.

The singular form is spelled woman, and the plural form is spelled women. The two forms are pronounced differently. Most people pronounce them both correctly, but some people pronounce them as if they were pronounced exactly the same. It might sound petty but it is a pet peeve of mine. If the plural women was spelled the way it is supposed to be pronounced something like wimen.

I don't know about New Zealand, but in the US and UK it is women who most vehemently defend allowing Trans women into cis-women's spaces. This is largely a female issue, not a male. Men, as a group, tend to be far more conservative than women when it comes to Trans issues.
In school, the girl's restroom was my refuge...from the stress of a class, from snobby girls, from my mental echoing of my parent's disagreements, from all kinds of things....and now it's stolen away.... so wrong young school girls don't have a minimal sanctuary! So oppressive! So evil.

This new law will enable those who self identify deliberately use a toilet that is not of their physical sexual orientation, the right to be prosecuted.

The bill you speak of is just a member's bill at the moment, and has to wait to be drawn from the 'lottery tin' of member's bills before it can even be put before Parliament, go through all the processes, and be voted on. There is a real possibility that it won't pass, as too many MPs are woke, woke-adjacent, or simply too scared to go against the neo-rainbow lobby groups. So, there's nothing guaranteed about it. In the meantime, there are policies in place for many women's spaces and sports which allow any man whomsoever says he's a woman to have free and unconditional entry to women's and girls' spaces and sports, for however long he wishes to identify as a woman. Not all men will do this, but the choice is entirely in men's hands whether they do or not, and if the bill fails to pass, it will remain this way. This is just framing it as it is, and as there is a good chance of it remaining.
