ikrr even i would prefer an amd laptop with a good config and amd is just cheaper when buying too and also in your power bill (which isn't very significant but its not negligible considering how i use an intel pentium laptop from 2008) and if you go amd manufacturers can also increase the power draw for the gpu and i've seen a video about this on another channel where the gpu had some headroom for the power limitation over its twin intel version where the gpu had less power allowed to it because of how power hungry intel is

Just some more little info from someone who bought a 4800h/2060 option a couple of weeks ago:
    1) just like everyone said, it does have expandable memory, so no worries there
    2) the 4800h/2060 option does come with a 230w power brick, so i guess the power brick size depends mainly on the graphics option
    3) There are options with no 2.5' bay and a bigger battery (you still have the second m.2 slot), also there are options with no os (mine came without one)
    4) If you want to install linux on it, be prepared to say goodbye to the touchpad since it's doesn't work at the moment (there seem to be a really recent linux kernel patch that fixes it, but only arch has updated the kernel to that atm).

@Ian Visser yes but would rather that than CPU, they only offer 2060 as the top sepc currently, it's also the 115w version, all current releases run fine at 1080p 1440p (scaled) the 144hz screen looks great. I don't think it's the perfect match but the performance is still great for both games and work @ £800 it was a great deal. @Ian Visser thanks and totaly, for rasterization amd/amd will be a dream battery wise but after using DLSS and RTX on Watch Dogs and Cyber Punk it's a big ask for AMD to match the performance. BTW this screen is the 144hz that does the fake Dolby Vision (still looks great) and for context I've had MSI, Alienware and HP Omen laptops beofre. This IMO ranks way better all round, it cuts the right corners and keeps the performance, the keyboard is a dream. They only thing i wish it had was Gsync when pushing the GPU hard.

    • @sidz0rz
      @sidz0rz 3 года назад

@Ian Visser good food for tought, I think what I can say now is these AMD CPUS and this (and I can't believe I'm saying this) Lenovo provide a great value now and a view of the future (8/16 @ 4.3), if anyone wants a good Laptop right now get one the internal desing is great with the 3 levels of performance and so on and so on. If you can wait then wait there is always something new around the corner. While you loose a bit on silge core compared to the best intel has to offer you honestly won't notice it. I think future GPUs still will take time to work out whats best given your requirements on laptop but it's amazing to see AMD back in the game. Been many years since I had a AMD CPU and I have zero regerts.

I got mine a few weeks ago with Ryzen 7, RTX 2060, 16GB RAM and 1TB HD. I'm really happy with it so far. I have it hooked up to a dual screen config most of the time with a primary gaming monitor running at 2560x1440 with Gsync and everything I've tried works splendidly at that resolution. When I've been running strategy games I've often had a full HD movie on the other monitor without any issues... some whine from the cooling, but not much.
The processor is a beast. I've been doing my job on it as well because everything just feels so much better than on my work PC - a Lenovo L490 with i5 and 16GB RAM, but an Intel graphics card and a slower SSD. It just feels so sluggish now just starting regular productivity apps or working with a handful of Chrome tabs.

Dude, you seem to know a lot about technology. You should start a tech tips channel. Ngl, you could get a few thousand subscribers in a few years if you are lucky.

My Legion 5- 4800H with a RTX 2060, was made two days after this video. Laptop purchase was made after my GTX780ti died in the PC.
Wonder how many PC-Gamers made the switch to Laptops over these crazy GPU prices?
    I absolutely love this laptop!

Also, being able to Upgrade anything, except the CPU or GPU, is crazy cool! (No soldered ram!)
I went with the larger battery and two M.2 ssds @ 1 TB each. (ram was 16 GB (8x2) out of the box, I didn't need to mess with that)

Been shopping for a new laptop and this was one of the contenders but you sold me. Waiting for my day job suppliers to have this back in stock so I can order the AMD version. Time to put in some sourcing calls :P

Linus, at 7:37, you were in quiet mode, wich uses the integrated GPU not the dedicated 1650 super, so in theory in that game you could get better performance.

been daily-driving the 2060 version for quite some time already and I think I'm completely happy to keep it as my main computer for the rest of my life.
